League Of Legends Catch All

Whoever the red name is that works with the tribunal has mentioned a new launcher several times. Part of being able to report people and include pre/post-game chat, which is where a lot of offenses take place.

It's been "coming soon..." for several months at this point, if not longer.

Better late than never.

Still waiting on PVP.net replacement. :p

never going to happen. At least I doubt they will ever leave air.

also, about the replays, i wonder if it will store from that point forward all replays? or if it deletes ones you dont look at? I noticed in the last big patch it removed all of my match history, so i wonder if every big patch or even small ones will kill old replays?

They won't store all the replays forever, but I imagine they'll have to offer a "save locally" option if they want LoLReplay to go away. Or they could offer everyone some set amount of persistent storage in which to save the ones which they want to keep. I don't think much of the odds of the latter happening.

After reading through the thread I can answer some of those questions. Replays will be stored on their servers for 7 days before being deleted. While it still exists on their servers, you can find a "Watch Replay" button for that game in the match history on your summoner profile. After clicking that button the replay is downloaded to your computer and saved as a file (replay of lol, .rofl extension) where it will stay until you choose to delete it.

There is a new button in the client next to the lore button in the top right that will open a new UI that lists all the .rofl files you have on your computer with some basic stats for each match. Just like LoLReplay currently does, you can rename them to help you remember which ones are which, and it can pop open an explorer window to those rofl files for you to share with others. When you find one online you can simply drag and drop it into the PVP client to watch it. Unlike LolReplay, it will not automatically have a replay saved on your computer for each game you play. It's on Riot's side only until you choose to view it from your match history.

Much like they did with the Spectator beta last year, they plan to have this feature incubate on PBE for several months while the iron out the inevitable issues and build up the infrastructure on their various server realms. (They'll be rotating through hundreds, if not thousands of terabytes of replays weekly.)

yay for this. LOL replay has been mostly awesome but the biggest annoyances have been big patches breaking compatibility and 95% of the 6+ gigs of replays I've got saved up (from when i started playing in August 2011) no longer working. Looking forward to it finally being integrated.

You weren't Pentakill Olaf, doesn't count.

I decided to give this game a try. Haven't played a moba since DotA was just a silly custom map in Warcraft 3. Did the tutorials but still have a really basic understanding of the systems. If anyone wants to kill some bots or have wisdom to share, it'd be appreciated. User name is Jedrakka. Also, are the public areas of the LoL community still fairly noob unfriendly?

The official forums aren't worth hanging around in, but the League subreddit (/r/leagueoflegends) is pretty good. Ironically, the most toxic part of the community for new players is in playing low level games. You'll run into bunches of experienced players playing on alt accounts who think they're hot sh*t and will berate others without stopping to think that maybe some of the other summoner lvl 6 players on their team are actually new to the game. Thankfully, the mute button is a powerful tool and can solve most problems of that nature as long as you remember to use it.

The fastest way to learn is to play with experience on your team, and have them on voice chat to answer questions and explain nonsense as it goes down. (a bit more advice here)

Eh, the solo drafts have been fine. But the chatty Female Doggo factor gets dialed up to 11. Is there a way to ignore a player in the lobby chat?

I don't take my marriage as seriously as some of these folks take this game.

Wacky game last night: typical rolecalling shenanigans, with me grabbing mid but someone else insisting they wanted it. Add in someone who was apparently watching a movie and got autoassigned jungle Ziggs and you had a recipe for 20 minutes of disaster - couldn't believe no one dodged.
Not only did it end up being a heck of a game but we pulled it out at the end. With Cassi and I (as Malz) going full AP Ziggs changed up and went AD and it was amusingly effective. We started out double mid and only a minute or two later top-lane Riven and Ziggs came mid in an effort to push the tower down quickly. Mid tower went down around 5 minutes in despite other laners coming in to try to hold us off. Other outer towers met a similar fate and we had a 3-tower lead pretty early, but lost it and actually fell behind for a while when farmed-up Olaf started wreaking havoc. Only one champ (Olaf) built any MR, so Cassi and I (both with Rylai's and Liandry's) had a field day at the end.

Last night for me, was an illustration in what a difference a Tank makes. We were Singed Top, Jax Jungle, Lux Mid, I was Twitch Bot with Sona (just dogsh*t for brains Sona). They had Jayce top, Khazix Jungle, Cass Mid, Cait was bot with the Mermaid. Cait got silly fed early on. Not sure what Sona was doing, but she never had any mana and had no real sense of positioning or lane control. She was insanely stingy with placing wards. It is tough to carry, when you need to play denial and turtle.

Singed was just beastly. Jayce tried to tank, but just does not have it in him. I started to get a steady diet of kills, and things really went to our favor. Every team battle was won by our team, even though we had unfavorable matches in all lanes. And again, having a real tank makes a big difference. The other team was focused on counter picking lanes, did so well, but never got to press that advantage too much.

Last night I ... Played DnD, sent some people to the third layer of hell and made all the party slaves to the female vampire of the party. Two of those slaves being female lovers/blood donors and the other two (males) guards.

We learned that vampires get all the chicks.

I played her on the PBE, she is...interesting. I'm not sure how I like my AD carries ult turning into a melee bird. But it did seem to clear slows, and could give you some good escapes and gap closing, especially combined with the vision. But I don't know if I can picture her as a typical ADC. Kind of felt like Vayne a little bit. Her vault is a nice disengage but I don't think it's as useful as Cait's net since you need something to vault off of.

New meta? (Wrong thread?)

He only posts in here. Or he's telling us why he didn't play.

Either way, he'll probably be playing Vlad top now.

I felt left out with all the last night talk.
Vlad doesn't have a space marine skin.

Supposedly she's supposed to be a tool to use to try to create new or shift the current meta in creative ways with a good dueling kit for an ADC.

I didn't have a chance to tell you, we queued as a 4 man on Sunday and I made a pubbie switch off of Garen because he didn't have the skin. I thought you'd appreciate that.

BR ran him last night. We won.

Space Marine Garen too strong

Wow, ranked solo has been a big improvement. I have not found any 2 AD carry FTW situations yet.

Sadly though, I have not gotten to try out my new brawler rune set with Gold Seals instead of armor.

BTW, I would like to take this moment in time to welcome dyni and Kaos to the Vth Hemierdinger's Vindicators division. Thanks for joining. Fuzz and Falcon are in IV and Nimcosi is holding the fort in III with Petrified sitting in division I feeling all lonesome!

Congrats on making it to Heimerdinger's Silver, enjoy your stay.

/fry not sure if serious picture

Edit: Dammit, now I'm actually thinking about it.

Ok, so that will generate 840 gold every 10 minutes. That's big if the game goes a long time but you'll most likely be top, right? So you'll be trading your early survivability and risking your lane for a payoff at 20 minutes+.

It's a big risk but that will generate a big item towards the end of the game.

You give up 15 armor but you get that back with your first 300g purchase of cloth armor.

dammit, KG.

Complex wrote:

Slaanesh CM Vlad says hi... or would if he existed anyway.

Your math is a little off oily. I start generating gold at the 1:30 mark. By the 10 minute mark, I would get almost an extra 1200 gold from that, almost 1400 in the next 10 minutes.

I tried using Avarice Blade to supplement the loss of HOG on these characters, but if my opponent is a better pusher, that has me sticking my neck out too far-or I am passive laning more making the Avarice Blade inefficient. To make AB worth it, you need to get a lot of CS. And in the Jungle, spirit stone means I am getting away from Philo Stone.

Up top, my goal is to either get a faster Catalyst or giant's belt/Warden's Mail. Where in the past, again I would have gotten a Philo stone. But Shurelya's is not lighting my fires with the brawlers and tanks.

For sacrificing, 300 gold worth of armor at the start, I envision getting a lot more benefits early-mid game.

Those runes also seemed to be wasted any time I went top against Mord, Vlad, Singed, Kayle, Kennen.

interesting article on liandry's vs. void staff:

http://www.reignofgaming.net/blogs/a...

I'd just been starting to toy around with rushing void staff on mages without high ap ratios (most of them) but the proof is in the pudding. I'd love to do a test with a fully built Malz with liandry's to see how much his ult + Liandry's burn does.

Thanks. If I can get more games in, I hope to put you all to shame.
