I just barely managed to squeeze out a victory over TorqGWJ in two rounds, 75-70 and 77-74. It was a pair of hard-fought slugging matches: looking back at the scores, it seems like the first round he went for a balanced strategy and I leaned on the Mechana constructs; the second time, it was the other way around.
Good games, sir!
Wow, I'm amazed game 2 was even that close!
I made some bad decisions at the start, and then tried cramming Heavy Infantry in to my deck, but could never draw more than one a turn, so when the board was chock full of monsters you were the first to kill one!
Game 1 I thought I had enough of a lead on you (around ~15 honor before looking at deck value), but your Mechana purchases pulled you ahead nicely.
Well played both games!
Mudbunny meets (and beats) cyrax 2 games to 0 with scores of 68-59 and 69-57.
I was lucky in that I played a monster-killing strategy in both and managed to play it well. Except for one hand in the first game, there was always a monster or two in the center that I could choose from. There never seemed to be enough cards turn up either for a mechana-engine or a lifebound strategy.
Great game!!
I knew you had the first game, but you got some great hands on the second, capitalizing on those Heavy Infantry gets. Even if you didn't destroy my Constructs that one round, which I knew was game over, I wasn't sure I had a chance. There at last you were finally getting average hands, but without my Constructs and great cards to build off of, it was a losing battle.

Yup. I really lucked into having 2 Polaris demons show up at the same time and me getting enough power to be able to buy both of them. I am just lucky that you couldn't get your deck going faster than mine. I never felt, even as I had 2x your honor points, that the game was a given for me. I wasn't sure just how much honor you had in your deck.
Just sent GC friend request to shoptroll

Received, will accept and send the game invite after dinner.
TheWalt absolutely crushed me in both games. I'm most likely out of the tournament.
In other news, I will be launching an investigation concerning players using performance enhancing drugs to improve deck performance. It will be a random sampling and is certainly not meant to single out any individual player, THEWALT. All I'm saying is those apprentices you played sure looked a lot like mystics.
Good games big red. I thought game 2 would be a race for Avatar of Ayana, then PRIME, but it ended up being neither. You were making a charge there at the end of game 2, but luckily for me you ended up with a infantry/mystic cut at the end which prevented the big point grab.
Sometimes the cards are just stacked your way. (your being mine in this instance)
Cronox defeats shoptroll. First game was really close, but round 2 was a massive blowout for Cronox as my treasures gambit failed to his excellent deck thinning and economy

Yeah, that second game really fell out nicely to me in the second half after it looked like your honour heavy strategy at the start would work out.
Farktopia CRUSHED me in our first game, grabbing all the high point cards before I could get to them
Next week (and the following) might be a bit tricky for me. My man and I are off to Maui for a 2 week vacation, so my connection to the internet is going to be sporadic at best.

Pretty nice humble brag.
Unless there's major objections, I'm going to do CoTG + RoTF + SoS for round 5. The other option is CoTG + SoS.
CoTG + RoTF + SoS sounds good to me, Bigred. Bringing all the sets together seems fitting for the final round of this part of the tourney.
I quite like the diversity of CoTG + RoTF + SoS. It's probably a little more random than other games but you can also get some very interesting things happening.

Wow, the second game really went my way. I decided early to play a construct-heavy game, and was lucky enough to be able to change in the last quarter of the match and just soak up great cards.

Yeah, I'm NOT bitter about that AT ALL. Nope, NOT BITTER
VERY close first game against ironcub14, it was literally the last card I acquired that won it for me. Score 69:66 my favor.
Looking forward to game 2. Had to run, kids needed attention ;)
Game 2 ironcub thumped me into oblivion 87:59
Game 3 was a mad rush on my part, putting all my stock in monster killing, and hoping to take out the final high deck ironcub was building. Scraped through 70:63 in my favour.
I was lucky in game 3, I picked up an Everbloom on the first turn, then a Canopic Jar, and an Umbral Edge later in the game too.
Great games, hit me up outside of the comp, just set it to 14 days. I won't take that long, but it's nice to have a buffer

Yeah good games! I think the second game, I had a first round Dreamers Glass? That card is just a killer.
I was trying to catch up furiously in the third game w Mechs but your infantries were deinitely the way to go early in the game with the board and it helped you get an Edge. GG!
Chumpy and I had two great games:
Game 1: Apollo0507 100 - 67 ChumpyMcChump
Game 2: Apollo0507 64 - 52 ChumpyMcChump
First game I got lucky and was able to use the Trickster to grab Adayu the Chosen and then was able to grab the Weapon and other high-honor constructs. Second game was a lot closer, my power build almost failed me as the board was giving me no monsters, but some early Mechana constructs kept me afloat.
Great games, Chumpy, best of luck to you going forward!

At least you get to go to Maui. Clearly, you are the real winner (even if I did almost double your score that last game ).

oilypenguin and I have just finished up our games which I took 2-0. The first one I had an fairly unfocused deck at the beginning, but had a very lucky final turn which let me pull ahead 66-65. The second game I built a construct deck which started snowballing fairly early against his power-based build ending up with a final score of 89-74.
Good games oily!

Good games. You were one significant move ahead of me both games; I had Trickster the next round, if you hadn't gotten it. Something similar (though not as game-wide-open-blowing as that one!) happened in game 2. G'luck!
GGs Joe!
Challenge sent to oilypenguin.
Just have to be sure we don't mix it up with the RoTF+SoS game we're already playing.

I will simplify things by winning all of our games. That way there's no confusion =)
Friend request sent to Pacman. Note that I head on vacation on Friday, so net access after that will be evenings only.

Duly noted, although I would suggest an alternate, equally effective scheme which involves universal crushing victory for me.

wow, so Zelos79 just wiped the floor with me without breaking a sweat. Well, I did take one game, but none of his wins were contested even slightly by me. Ouch! I just feel like I suffered the same fate as England's Edward II...
