I love the offseason, it's so full of hope and so not full of having to watch Tampa fail to play pass defense.

The Rams picked up Titus Young. What could possibly go wrong with a player so badly behaved not even the Lions want him? Nothing, I tell you!

So... oh boy.

The Jaguars, the team that can't leave their jerseys and crap alone, is at it again.

It was already known that the team will monkey around with their jerseys once again this offseason. A new jersey is coming in April, apparently, a mere 4 years after the redesign that was supposed to end all the redesigns.

Out of the blue, they announced earlier today that they are unveiling a new logo tomorrow.

Then, later in the day, they apparently couldn't wait any longer, and announced the logo on Facebook.

Behold:

PFT has it on a white background:

For reference, the current incarnation:

And the older cat-swiping logo:

I like the oldest logo best.

Because it is the best. As were the old jerseys. They should never have touched a damn thing.

As the ESPN columnist who writes the NFL uniforms ranking piece said, as he ranked the Jaguars 28th: "The Jags' original design was one of the best expansion uniforms ever. As a certain uniform columnist repeatedly opined, "It has the makings of a modern classic -- if they're smart enough to leave it alone." Well, we all know how that turned out."

The classic teal was great and the team's early success built immediate positive associations with it. It was a jumpstart to building an identity. So of course they threw all of that away.

Didn't you hear? He's totes better than Megatron.

At least the Jags made some changes that, while subtle, are at least noticeable in a side-by-side comparison.

I'm still not exactly sure what changes the Panthers made to their logo last year. (Hint: You can't really tell the difference.)

OK, then. So we're starting this thread out with the Jags logo and Titus Young. I can't believe we've gone this long without someone mentioning the big fat elephant in the room.

Spoiler:

So true. Saw this NFL logo infographic a few weeks ago.

(Note: some of the logos duplicate due to the team moving)

He's going to be the surprise model when the Jags unveil their new jerseys.

I loathe it. Not sure why I'm even in this thread. It's now college basketball season with March Madness soon! Then NBA playoffs! Then baseball!

I'll care about football again when it's August.

Sadly ESPN won't shut up about it for a single day...

Shut your damn mouth!

The one thing I can bank on with the new Jaguar regime is their emphatic disinterest in Tim Tebow.

I need that security. I can't survive going 2-14 one year and then Tebowmania the next. I need hope.

Seriously. That's a guy that, even if I wanted him, I leave languishing in free agency for a while to hopefully get wise to the fact that he's nothing so far.

EDIT: Though leaving him waiting in free agency wasn't necessarily an option since he was claimed off waivers. As it turns out, though, the Rams were the only team that placed a claim on him.

You do realize you're a Jaguars fan, right?

Kyle Vanden Bosch was cut along with Titus Young. Cost saving move, no doubt. Too much money on that d line.

Ah, the offseason. For once I'm not that interested in the draft, I'm just hoping to bolster the right side of the offensive line and get a defensive tackle to pair with Mebane. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks manage to address that in free agency too, I'd love to see a guy like Richard Seymour add depth to the line, or taking a look at spending big money on Henry Melton or Desmond Bryant. Thanks to the rookie wage scale, if the hawks manage to dump Matt Flynn's contract on someone else we'll have cap room to burn.

I think I speak for the entire Pacific Northwest that September can't come quickly enough this year.

The Panthers need (more or less in order) a D-lineman, 1 or 2 O-line guys on the right side, a safety, a No. 2 or 3 WR, a backup QB, a couple of special teamers with a clue and some damn luck.

The Panthers had a ton of injuries to the secondary and O-line and were still about 3-4 plays from a wild-card berth. There's the potential for a good season buried under Ron Rivera's mediocrity.

Giants do the expected and cut Ahmad Bradshaw. Wonder if he'll find somewhere to play.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, the NFC South plays the NFC West next year, so not a lot of help in the schedule as they may very well be playing most of their games against the best divisions in football. I have a feeling the Saints will be back with a vengeance this year, Tampa looks like an up-and-comer and the Falcons should come back to earth but are certainly not pushovers. Oh, and they drew the Vikings and Giants as well, not exactly pushovers.

If the defense can step up and start closing out some of those close divisional games, beat up on the 3 weaker teams in the AFC East and take care of teams like the Rams and Cardinals, they have a shot, but I'm just not sure where a 10+ win season is coming from given the teams they're facing. If there's one silver lining, Carolina's toughest games are mostly at home.

He (Ahmad Bradshaw) might be a good fit in Cincinnati.

Vanden Bosch is an example of how you can have a few pretty good years in the NFL and then your allowed to be mediocre for years because everyone still thinks your awesome. Never mind the fact he had a 350 lbs monster named Haynesworth killing people in the middle every play.

Sad to see Bradshaw go because he played with so much heart, but I feel like this was good move. Andrew Brown shown that he could be just as good of a pass blocker and runner as Bradshaw and hopefully wont get injured as much. Wilson will be a fantastic runner but he has got a lot of work to do in the pass blocking. He gets shoved around like a feather.

Giants need money to go towards LB and DB.

I thought the Play 60 kid would fall lower in the draft to #13. How else will he replace Cam Newton?

Here's an unclaimed running back. THE PANTHERS MUST HAVE HIM!

This story is just to funny to not call out. The ever-brilliant Vince Young, according to his financial planner, was broke between the 2010 and 2011 league years, so he took out a loan to throw himself a birthday party. A LOAN for a $300,000 birthday party.

They'll have to get in line behind Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.

You Can't Choose Death: which future Comeback Player of the Year would you rather install as your team's starting quarterback - JaMarcus Russell or Vince Young?

Sorry, Death can't throw the deep out, he's going into the CFL.

The more I read about Vince Young, the more I can't help but think that he would have done a whole lot better both professionally and personally with the right coaching. It looks to me like Jeff Fisher had a race horse and horribly mismanaged him.

Okay, Legion, what's your take on Nick Foles? Rumors are that Reid wants to bring him to KC, but the Eagles may try to bleed the Chiefs in a trade. Is he worth the trouble?
