Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Use a powerful rocket launcher. Should deal with any but the most powerful Spiderant spawns. Also, don't spam the wash-offs. Invincible Pyro Pete is essentially timing management, which is why it bores me to death.

Some new 5-key codes today.

Borderlands 2 was awarded Action Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. Awards -- this calls for some SHiFT codes to celebrate!

Xbox 360 SHiFT Code for 5 Golden Keys in Borderlands 2: C3CTB-XK695-33Z3R-W6BTB-XJC36
PlayStation 3 SHiFT Code for 5 Golden Keys in Borderlands 2: 53WBJ-T6Z5B-WWWCJ-HBKBB-THTR6

These codes will be active through February 10. Be sure to redeem them before then!

Just redeemed for myself and the roommate.

...and sang that out...

Code still works, thanks for the heads up!

Well, that sucks. I was looking forward to a cap increase after hitting it two nights ago!

I feel like that's just doom & gloom and/or misinterpretation. Randy was basically making excuses about why it's taking so long and the cooptimus articles turns around and says it isn't happening.

Erg, I see that. Wish I'd went and found the original article. Now I'm happier

BL2 noob here. Just picked it up on a Steam sale over the weekend. So far I am loving it. Have a Commando up to level 7. I am a bit leery of the turret ability however. Most other games I have played with a pet / turret mechanic, the pet comes up short eventually, especially in the late game. It that skill tree worth investing in? Is the Commando gimp without it?

Heheh... The turret eventually gets awesome, especially in a group. It'll heal and tank for you at the same time. There aren't really a lot of bad options in BL2. Everything is pretty powerful as long as you focus on something (That's not necessarily true once you get to the end game and start farming bosses).

The turret's great through the entire game and even without the turret, the Commando's got plenty of skills to keep him killing stuff. I think each class starts to come into their own around level 16. At that point they have 11 skill points, which is enough to make a difference in how they play and is the minimum required to unlock a 3rd tier skill, which can really change up how their active ability acts. Don't be afraid to spend your skill points since a full respec is negligibly cheap.

That's most definitely true. It's great fun to experiment with different builds often.

Hear hear! Its so f'n cheap to respec, so feel free experimenting.

Quite often I'll spec one way for a few levels, then spec an entirely different way once I can afford a specific higher-tier skill.

Even as cheap as it is, I tend to tinker too much and go broke from respec'ing.

So glad that is available in game.

I blew $100,000 killing the boss in the Big Game Hunt DLC.

Is that in TVHM?

I thought he was annoying in regular mode but not too difficult so long as you keep a couple of minions around for second winds.

Nope. Level 35. I had one buddy with me.

Oh, yeah. That makes all the difference. Co-op is intense!

Finally reached level 50! Whew. Anyone else interested in grouping up, some evening, with an ammo-regening Gunzerker for some TVHM dlc content?

So anyone who just bought the game last weekend want to group up for lowbie areas? I got it back during the holiday sale but also picked up Xcom and got sucked back into Skyrim. wouldnt mind doing some multiplayer. Now I just need to decide between the gunzerker and the assassin dude.

If anybody on 360 would be up for some MP starting with taking on Hyperius (first pass, non TVHM), I would appreciate the help. I haven't been able to manage it with my level 34 assassin solo.

@jdzappa--I haven't started a Gunzerker, Mechromancer, or Siren yet, so I would be willing.

I think you need to hit 50 before even considering the raid bosses. I haven't been able to do anything to them solo with my level 50.

That's kind of the feeling I was getting, but I knew I needed help for sure at my level if I was going to have a chance. I had re-specc'd a couple different ways and couldn't get him below half. I guess I will go grinding. Thanks for the info.

Keep in mind if you get a bunch of level 50s to join your level 34 first run game, Gizmo, that Hyperius will be that much easier for them to defeat. That's what I did and my co-op partners took him out in less than a minute.

I was mostly thinking that it would be nice to have a partner for healing and to take advantage of my Deathmark.

I think no matter what he will be at level 52 though.

I've soloed a couple of the raid bosses on normal mode (hyperius and master gee), and they were ~30 ish. Still was kinda tough, but I had crap for weapons.

Haven't even gotten to them on TVHM, since I'm not making a lot of progress there.

I am down to try. I have a level 50 Siren that I can either spec for damage or healing.
