Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Catch-All – Shepards with Jobs

How do you do that?! I can't bank. It's a sickness, but I MUST spend!!

I recommend a simple, albeit lengthy, one-step program known as "maxing out everything but the Ultra Rares." The incredibly slow progress of the URs will kill your desire to spend, trust me.

I first started buying only Veteran Packs. This netted me all Uncommon weapons and characters, but I still have many Weapon Mods and Gear that I haven't capped yet.

Then I started buying Spectre Packs, but felt PSP were a better investment, and have been buying those now only. Problem is, while I have 255 ammo packs and 255 missiles, I almost always have to buy Jumbo Packs to stack up on Survival and Medigel. I have 8 at most, most of the time. The only way to rack them up, is playing Bronze and Silver, were I don't die as often, but then getting money is soooo sloooooow.

It's a lot easier when you already have everything at rank X, except one or two things (those are at rank IX).

Yeah kloreep has been consistently playing, while a lot of us fade in and out as new DLC releases. Still a lot of characters and guns to unlock for most of us, so spend away.

Well I had the weirdest glitch ever today.

Negative ammo.

I would shoot 3-4 rounds and suddenly my ammo count went to -19, then I'd reload, and same thing.

Then next time I got ammo it would be ok sometimes. But others it would repeat.

Also screwy I was showing 119 spare bullets or something instead of the usual 36/80 on the Harrier.

Weirdness.

Posted in a bug thread bout it on ME forums. That thread was from 4 months back though and there was another from like 9 months back. So I guess it's kind of rare?

Made for a thoroughly unpleasant match though, never knowing how much ammo I really had.

Any tricks to getting the 50K points with the Combat Drone? I have about 12K points with it but it seems like it takes forever. The geth and sentry turrets were dead easy by comparison. Not sure how to spec the Combat drone in order to get the points quicker.

Also, I really like the Vorcha Hunter. Really love the little comments and grunts he makes when on Bloodlust mode.

I've had this before as non-host, though it's been a while since I encountered it.

Far more common for me is that the game will give me too much ammo when I go to an ammo box. What happens from this is that the next time I fire a shot, it will realize and readjust, including setting my current clip to 0. Annoying, but easy enough to "clear the jam" in advance so long as I notice it when it happens.

I have an even weirder bug. On the spec screen for my characters, My Vorcha and Volus Engineers both negative exp. points. I have no idea what's going on, but I'm not wasting my respec cards on them.

Also, I love, love, LOVE my N7 Fury. I finally got the hang of her, and she simply murders everyone in seconds. She's still very fragile, especially since I only gave her 3pts into fitness, and went 6/6/6/5/3. Slap a Hurricane on her, and be ready to melt and shred everything to pieces. Especially Reapers, hehehehe.

Lots of glitches today. I just had two games where my geth plasma shotgun made no noise when I fired. It was kind of nice.

Yeah it just didn't clear. I would end up with no bullets in spare and -16 loaded in the gun or something ridiculous. Just could not get it to clear and stay clear.

Yeah, the negative bug is bad news that just doesn't seem to go away. Unless I'm playing a very casting-focused class I'll often just quit out of the match when I encounter it. Not fun for me and I'm not going to be much help if I can't fire my gun.

I had a bug last night where I played and finished a silver round and got the goods, went back to the main menu and none of the money or xp actually came through. It's like I never played it.

One of my non-gwj friends had that. 3 matches in a row. He finally rebooted and fixed it I think.

Yeah, it was my last match for the night, so if it happens again, I won't be happy. Still, I've had worse. EA lost connection on the extraction of a successful gold run.

EDIT: Happened again. Not the first couple of matches, but the third match. Very annoying as I'm not getting the XP or Money. Probably not getting the challenge points either.

On the plus side, the Biotic Charge + Nova + repeat is still insanely powerful. Just finished a silver where I had 110K. Second, third and fourth were on 41K, 40K and 34K. No one else really had a chance to shoot!

I had two matches last night playing with a friend, where I could only see one pubbie, but we had two; the other guy didn't show on the score list and I couldn't see him at all. I'd see Husks and Cannibals suddenly flipping backwards from shotgun blasts like they were being punched by a ghost. Have had that happen a few times before, but never in consecutive matches.

For those still wondering; that's from 2/8, so it would be next week he's referring to. Priestly is a community guy at Bioware Edmonton.

Guess that means I can spend some more credits on packs filled with crappy gear bonuses I don't want.

That happens with me and kloreep sometimes. He even revived me the other night although I couldn't see him or anything.

Man, I don't have any credits banked, but that's because right now I'm trying to max out all my Uncommon weapons. That's at least 64 Veteran Packs, so, 1.28 million. I figure once I get the Viper, Mattock, Phaeston and Locust maxed, my completionist self will have withered and died, and the utilitarian me will move on to Rares.

There is quite a bit of gear that I'd like to stock up on, though. I've only unlocked about half of them, and most are still at rank one. That rank 3 Assault Loadout I've got kind of obviates using most of the others until they level up more, though.

Sucks to hear of so many bugs. I had one recently where I was stuck in my spawn spot, and could only swivel and shoot my back-up gun, but I've never had credits not register. That blows.

In doing the Commando challenge, I've moved on to the Valkyrie. I'm making it work, even on Gold, but the style is a super-intense close-up style that is really rough. Could really use more IV shield boosters.

I hear you. I play my N7 Fury pretty up in their faces style, to trigger Annihilation Field and detonate with Throw. I have to run in front of them, and it really gets hairy on Gold.

FINALLY!

After a freakin' year, I got a Black Widow today.

Just played a couple games of Salarian Infiltrator, and it's... well, it's like my Valiant, but nicer.

Congrats!! Definitely one of my favorite weapons in the entire manifest.

I sooooo want a Black Widow... still, my biggest fear is when I finally unlock it, my Valiant will still be better as it has more ranks.

Also, is Charge + Nova a good strat on Gold? It melted silver, but gold might be a different story. I will have to try tonight, but if anyone has gold tips, I'm all ears... or eyes... you know, on this being a forum and all...

Guh, at least the Valkyrie gets Tech Armor. Playing that way is fun, but I'm eager to get back to a more sedate class. Better for my blood pressure.

Huzzah! I love the Widows.

I don't often see it in Gold matches, so my gut says "Probably not," but I haven't really tried myself. Everything seems much more grabby on Gold, so that might be part of the issue. Make sure to only charge things that can't instantly kill, if you aren't doing that already.

Yeah, Silver geth, I was soloing Primes with little to no effort. The only time I died was when I got too cocky and jumped into a group with a prime, and a few flamers. If I missed that split second of charge, then it was all over.

I tried to solo silver yesterday with a Quarian Infiltrator. The goal was to cloak, fire off the Sabotage and let the geth fight each other. Then just finish them off with the Raptor. Didn't work out as planned. Made it to wave 3 and it just wasn't effective. Still, judging by how easy the Charge + Nova is, I'm thinking with some careful planning and the right gear, I might be able to pull off a solo silver run with it.

Still pretty viable against Geth.

Although instead of Charge+Nova+Nova and repeat, I do a Charge+Nova+Roll and repeat.

Just that quick roll with half shields you usually don't get hit, but if you do, you don't lose health.

Yeah, the biggest problem with taking a Novaguard or a melee-focused character in Gold is the sync kills. Which there will be a lot of opportunity for in any Collector or Reaper match, and a fair amount of opportunity for in any Cerberus match. Gold definitely discourages any closer-range a strategy than shotguns IMO.

Of course, maybe that's just showing my limitations as a melee or Novaguard player. The only enemy I've learned to reliably avoid sync kills from is the Atlas, but I imagine some of the others might be predictable too. (On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Banshees are just "do not touch.")

Great justice! I start a Gold match. I'm killing it. Top score, everything running smoothly. Connection lost on wave 10. No credits given. Next match, it lands me on a wave 10 Platinum Game, we cleared it, and it net me 80k!!!
