Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

I have wanted this forever and could never find it. Thank you!

But then you would have to use iTunes and who would purposely put malware on their computer? ;)

The person whose fancy-ass new hifi seamlessly integrates Airplay, that's who.

Seriously, that is the killer-function for iTunes now. I've always avoided it like the plague, but that sh*t is slick. I simply press play in iTunes, and my stereo turns itself on and is playing colon-quaking beats in two seconds flat.

iTunes isn't a requirement. Plex, XBMC and other apps can send to any Airplay device.

You know, if I lived alone, I would be agreeing heartily with you and uninstalling iTunes this second. But I don't, and given that the wife has heartily embraced the Apple ecosystem, it makes more sense for us to have a one-stop shop for works for everything. I've made my peace with that :)

This is why i have an iphone, and not an Android or Windows Phone.

I just use youtube for my music fix. I don't feel the need to own songs. Plus I love finding new musicians thru the tube.

Just popped a joint of some kind in my foot. Ah man that's good.

You so naughty!

Gonna be a father in...30 hours, 35 minutes. (Scheduled C-section.) I'm either the chillest person on the planet, or it hasn't sunk in yet...

I can almost guarantee that it's the latter. It took me actually holding the baby after she was born for it to sink in. One look at that little face and I knew that I was lost forever!

In any case, many congratulations to you and to mrs. Nicholaas!

Those Samurai have their hands full.

I have to take back all the nasty things I've said about pauseable real-time combat because The Last Story finally got it right.

Just breathe man. You've got 20 years or so for freaking out if you need it later. Good luck to you and your family, and keep us posted.

Yeah, man. That's the easy part =)

And remember: When you're in a position that you can see someone's intestines, it's always polite to ask first.

I started a new job on Monday and for the first time I'm not terrified that I'm in over my head.

Wendy's has their yummy fish sandwich again. I have to assume Lent is coming soon. I wish Lent would be all year so I could have yummy fish.

Remember Righthaven? On appeal, copyright troll looks just as bad

*calls Enterprise Rent-a-Car*

Me: Yeah, I need to rent a standard-size car for 10 days, mine's in the shop. I'm told you'll give the State Farm rate?
Them: Sure, what's your claim number?
Me: (number)
Them: OK, with the weekly rate that's normally $400, but State Farm's rate makes it $300. Here's your reservation.
Me: OK, thanks.

Then just to see if there's something cheaper, checked American Express, and BJs, to see if they could get a better rate. BJs does a 25% off with a number of rental companies, plus another 25% off on top of that. Hertz had the same-class car for $156 total. Sold!

Me: Hi, I need to cancel a reservation, Hertz gave me a much better price.
Them: Oh? How much?
Me: $156
Them: We'll do your current reservation for $150.
Me: Uhh... Well I've already set up the other one with Hertz, so let's just go ahead and cancel this.
Them: How about $140?
Me: Um, well... OK. Sure.

Thanks a bunch. How am I going to be funny from now on? Wait a minute, it's obvious. I'll steal it and claim it as my own! To the Facebooks!

Similar situation for me recently. Been shopping for a new car.

While at the dealer:

Sales Guy: $22000 is the absolute lowest we can go on this one.
Me: Well I still want to look at a few other models and test drive them but I will keep you in mind.

Two days later I get a phone call:

Sales Guy: Hey remember that (whatever) you were looking at? Well we can take another $2500 off of that for you? Want to come test drive it again?

Seriously I have gotten this call for almost every car I seriously considered and some I didn't even like.
