I don't remember there being a scramble.

There was, I ended up on defense twice.

And he was awesome both times.

If the "next round" was RED successfully defending and running the clock out, then no. It took BLU a while to get the first point (I think we got pushed off the point and back to spawn once during that), and I don't think anyone got past the lobby area outside the point after that.

Glad to hear that the scramble helped matters.

I don't remember any part of cp_gorge being competitive and I had no clue there was a scramble after the vote failed. I'm not gonna bring it up again because it doesn't do any good, but I just don't understand why people are so scared of the word "scramble". I don't know if people are afraid of hurting someone else's feelings or just delusional that the sometimes the other team can "turn it around" Maybe there are people here who just love to beat the sh*t out of people and if that's their thing then so be it, but I think most people here like competitive close matches which is why it baffles me even more that "Scramble" is so taboo around here.

There was no scramble on the second Gorge round. The vote was either 12-12 or 11-13; I was the last to vote.

Blue capped the first point after a fight and put a fair amount of pressure on the second. EvilHomer and I had our point B sentries blown up quite a number of times, and there were many ubers. I wasn't surprised that Red won, after that first round, but it was closer than I would have thought. I've played Blue on Gorge where we haven't even taken the first point.

And as if to compensate, the universe put me on the wrong end of the next six maps. [/the tiniest violin]

Edit: There was a forced-scramble on a later map, but not on Gorge.

Edit Edit: It was on Hoodoo.

Gumbie wrote:

Not scared, but still have yet to be part of a scramble that works. I suppose I'd be willing to give it a try now that we don't have to re-start a round, but that has always been a problem for me. Since the scramble never works, it often means a good number of people end up getting rolled three rounds instead of two. If people start voting for an RTV I will go along with that.

Glad I dropped off for Gorge....

I think the hoodoo scramble worked well. I thought the rounds after were very competitive.

I don't know the map names well so you can ignore me. Archangel seems to know the specifics so I defer to him.

Gumbie, sometimes I vote against the scramble because I don't like to give up or because I was playing anything but heavy. I feel like there's a big gap in my contribution to the team if I switch from spy or sniper to heavy (with smaller gaps for other classes). I DO like competitive games and if it is really bad I might vote for one. I do vote for scrambles most of the time if I'm on the winning side.

Yeah that's the old built in Valve scramble and it sucks. Like ukick pointed out we've only used the new one 2-3 times but I've seen nothing but good results so far. It uses hlstatsx:ce ranking to make sure good players are evenly split. When I get home I'll paste the options and how it's setup so people can see how it works under the hood and offer any helpful changes. I've actually been meaning to do that for several days and keep forgetting.

I, for one, welcome our new Scramble Overlords.

Any idea when? I guess I'll be installing TF2 on my computer at school.

A. When on defense: I am a stubborn son of a Female Doggo.
B. When on offense: I like beating the sh*t out of people (it happens so seldom these days).
C. Valve has trained me that scramble means bad things.
D. I don't pay attention all that well.
E. Win, lose, or draw all mannes will still burn.

God, I hate people.

Sorry for hopping in and out tonight (and wasting an uber!). I keep freezing bigtime. I tried to put TF2 on my SSD but it's not cooperating. I guess there's really no need to have it there so putting Steam back on my other hard drive. Not sure if I'll be back on tonight but hopefully soon

I've spent several nights leveling up my strange Natascha. Several nights as well playing Tomislav for awards. I've said it before but the minigun is the only worthwhile weapon for the heavy. The tomislav and natascha are really only good for awards. I guess they are better than the brass beast. It isn't even worth using to get awards.

Gah, stupid phone call right in the middle of building my engie nest.

You guys should have stayed afterwards for Caber Tips with Ragin. Very educational. The man definitely knows his hand-delivered explosives.

What HUD is that? I'm still using the stock HUD but I've seen screenshots from a couple of goojers with this one and I think it's sexy.

Ok so I found out gscramble wasn't interfacing correctly with HlstatsX. I spent about 2 hours this morning figuring out why and then fixing it. We should be able to scramble using hlstatsx rankings now. I really, really would like to try this sometime soon.

Holy crap: TF2 Chess with swappable hattes!

Edit: oh and Mex, I got the medics defended award again
