In other news, every one knows this is the greatest thread. Carrot just loves stirring the pot. Otherwise Dyni is absolutely correct with his post breakdown. Do work my sons.

Absolutely right, you are like a drunken father who is never around and leaves us alone at home when he needs to go drinking with his buddies ( acolytes).

Can I run away from home? Or at least get a better allowance.

Tough day at work brings out the bitter complex also I won't be on till late tonight, don't all rejoice at once.

Bro Hug, I probably will not be home until 8. Just enough time to kiss my loving wife and pass out.

If I remember correctly from the conference call it's the blacklight retribution community play thing tonight. So Both me and complex won't be around, double rejoicing.

I like how you quote him saying he won't be on either yet make no mention of him. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face.

It was no slight to KG, but I think people would actually enjoy having him in games. Where as me and you can only possibly bring games down. Me moreso then you, as I can play one character in the jungle and slightly not fail everywhere else.

Yeah, gotta play Blacklight Retribution so you can get your sick wubstep menus on.

Nice recovery

How is no one talking about this? Absolutely hilarious. I wish more high-ELO games showed cojones like this. Double-caster comps, bruiser-heavy comps, and lane assignment diversity would make things much more interesting to watch.

good god.

new meta.

WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN!

Props to them, for sure. I just don't see many people playing this risky when their livelihood depends on winning. Was definitely cool to watch once I muted those idiots.

The announcers did make some very good points though.

Basically this kind of strat only works against a very specific team comp on the other side. You have to make sure the top and bottom laners can't push like crazy, like Shen and Ezreal can't.

The TP Olaf is pretty crazy with that, he came out of his laning phase instantly in man mode due to basically clearing 2x waves.

i dont think i have tried heimer jungle with the latest change, last i tried his turrets were just two weak to tank.

A friend of mine downloaded LOL and we played his first couple games last night. Since he wanted to stick with ranged and the selection last week was poor, I put him onto Sivir and laned with him using Garen twice and once Katarina. I really like Garen and how he can be build into a tanky mage killer. In the third game I went toe to toe with Ms. Fortune, Lux and Ryze. Yeah, I know, bot games, but I understand why he is also one of the chosen newbie heroes.

Since he has unlocked Ashe now, I will have to test out more heroes. Luckily, next week's rotation features Amumu, Annie, Graves, Kayle and Ryze, all of which I wanted to give a whirl. I am also interested in getting my hands on a jungler, so I may pick up Warwick during a bad week.

I have one question though. How do I determine which heroes are destined for mid other than looking through all of them on SoloMid? It seems that Annie and Ryze always end up mid in bot games, but does that mean all casters or just classes that need XP faster, because they are week without their ultimate/until late game?

Generally speaking, casters go mid (with a few exceptions), anyone tanky can go top (since they'll be alone), and a ranged character that does attack damage goes bot with a support.

Why those places?

Top: Generally will spend most of the match alone and farming. It takes the jungler a long time to get up there. You want someone tanky so that they can be as safe as possible for a long time. That said, if you can win top lane, you become a force that will take out the other lanes. AP or AD, whatever works so long as they can survive. Examples: Olaf, Cho, Shen

Mid: Generally speaking, you're going to have a caster here. Little health, maybe an escape but generally a glass cannon. Why? Mid lane gets the most backup from the jungler since they need to run through that lane constantly. It's also the shortest lane so that means it can get back-up the quickest. It's the safest place to stick a glass cannon. The reason they're solo is so they can get as much farm in order to do as much damage as possible. Generally, people in this lane are AP. Examples: Annie, Karthus, Ryze.

Bot: ADC's are too fragile to have them in a solo lane so the support character comes here as well. Why here and not solo mid? Truthfully, I don't know why that meta changed at the start of season 2 as I got most of my early levels playing ADCs solo mid =) Someone else can enlighten you, I'm sure.

Also, early level jungling is HARD because you don't have the runes or masteries yet. Don't get frustrated, it gets easier as you level. I think I saw you at level 6 last night? Give it a whirl but you're going to have a tough go of it for a while.

Oh also, don't buy any runes until you can use the T3 runes at 21 or you'll just be wasting IP (because once you gain access to the t3 runes, those will be the only ones you want to use). Save your IP to buy characters for now, then if you think you're going to go all the way to 30, save your IP for t3 runes starting around level 10 or 11 =)

I think aps also go mid for the proximity to blue. If you put them bot on blue team they would have to go far to get it.

Yep, some APs are pretty blue dependent mid game.

Had some awesome games last night, ended up grouping up multiple times with a group of randoms. Had a 13-1 Kayle, 6-2 Olaf (highest CS in game and they surrendered at 23 minutes just as I was getting manly), and some solid games as Ashe including a full map ult that led to a triple kill for our Ryze.

Yeah, most mid are highly blue dependent. If you are red/purple side you could do some fancy things like cassi nunu bot with ad mid. Though I think another reason is that ad champs are normally not ability dependent for damage. Putting them with a support allows them to get kills based on the support setting up opportunities. In a cassi nunu lane, once cassi has blown her mana on harass or an attempt to kill, she has to go back or get blue buff, because without mana she is pretty vulnerable.

Also this is why you will see many people ban champs like katarina who can stay mid indefinitely since they don't have mana.

Sweet skin. Looks like a Ratchet and Clank villain.

I am programmed to purchase that skin.

My current Blitz skin is too cool not to use, but I think I play blitz enough to use em both.

Also, ad+support lane is bot lane so you have as many people as possible handy for a dragon fight.

Another reason for APs mid is that they are generally good roamers. You can push the lane and go gank top or bot. They also usually have some form of CC to help with the gank.

Also, typical mids tend to scale better with levels than do the rest of the lanes, so they get one of the two solo lanes.

I am finding, roaming Mid is very powerful right now. MR is a lot tougher to stack early. A Null Magic Mantle is 400, bot top and bottom lanes need to get armor first to contend with the bruiser and the ADC. Until the support or jungler gets an Aegis, you have a lot of power.

And if you are against another AP, the tower is safe (maybe a little cover from the jungle) because you are hitting like a paper tiger on towers for a long time as an AP (you basically are doing just a bit more damage than the Siege Minions).

As for the video, I skipped around. They also won the Ward battle. A solid combo of Sight and Vision Wards, rendered the purple team impotent.

About the roaming mid, why bother when you can just play karthus. Secure kills from anywhere. I think a problem right now is that there a few "mid champs" that can not push. Those are running into issues with the mids that can push and then go roam. Or when both can push it becomes more of an issue on who can poke the other out of lane.

Swain is one of those problem mids - unless you max W first (which no one does) you are usually the pushee, which is made even more challenging by the fact that his autoattack is one of the weakest in the game.

It's the only reason that I hate AP kog. His auto attack is so weak and you need some damage in order to start clearing with your e, so pre 6 you can be bullied. But his curve is so nice, weak early game that just gets stronger and stronger and stronger.

I feel similar about LeBlanc as well, she hits like a wet noodle.

curious, i looked it up: Swain's is actually slightly weaker (49 at level 1, vs. 51 for leblanc). Any guesses on who has the weakest? I actually would have thought Leblanc...

Karth 42

Whoa, whoa...Karthus has an auto-attack?

meh, you weren't supposed to look it up. I never get to have any fun.

Yeah, the moment anyone on the other team gets to 2 bars of health of less, he automatically Ults. You need to go into the settings to disable it. He does not auto attack until level 6, unique among champions.

There is also the turbo fire Q option in the settings.

I read this as if it were above Calvin's dad as he explains it to him.
