You Know You Love the Pile

Well, I finished Gravity Rush. Didn't realize I was that close to the end. It was a fun game an I am glad it was part of the instant game collection. My next Vita game will be Persona 4, but who knows how long that's gonna take.

Oh goodie, the February thread is up!! Thank you, Heimdall!

So for this month, I'm carrying over Dead Space (finished the first three chapters out of a total of 12, I think). I'm going to declare Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 2 - The Siege of Spinner Cay, Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 - Lair of the Leviathan, Eufloria, Shank 2, Mark of the Ninja and To the Moon. Perhaps a bit ambitious, but we'll see.

I already finished Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 2 - The Siege of Spinner Cay this morning. I guess that's kinda cheating, declaring a game I've already finished, but I'd declared it to myself yesterday morning.

(edit: all that is from my Steam account on my PC, although I'm guessing a few of those are multi-platform)

Carrying over three of my four from last month:

Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition (Multi)
Sleeping Dogs (Multi)
Dishonored (Multi)

Dead Space and Torchlight will carry over into this month. Since I finished Max Payne 3, I'll add Saints Row: the Third to the "play" list for February.

Everything is on Steam, even though DS and SR:3 are multi-platform titles.

Okay, so my distraction from declared games has already started. But oh well, this knocked off a pile game too. Mark Blackwell Unbound (PC) as completed for me, please.

I'm going to start up Alpha Protocol (multi, but on the 360 for me) this month. I've heard so many mixed opinions on it that I can't guess whether I'll want to finish it, but we'll see. Thanks, Hemidal.

Holy crap am I glad I added Lara Croft along with Amnesia. I was playing Amnesia today in broad daylight with the curtains open and it's still a hell of a freaky game. Now that it's dark, there's no way I'm sitting down to play that for my evening gaming session, time for LC!

Tim

I've been on a Fallout kick lately, put me down for Fallout New Vegas.

Making some crazy good progress in Dark Souls. I've got basically 2 nights for the base game left. Also, made some progress in Kirby and only have 2 worlds left in that. I'm not sure I want to spend the extra time for the extras on either. In DS's case, it's because I've spent 79 hours already and I think it'll be time to move on.

I will finish Bad Company (seriously I mean it this time) on 360 this month. I also will want to knock out Call of Duty Black Ops and Wallace & Gromit 1: Fright of the Bees on 360.

I am going to go with Deadlight and Dead to Rights: Retribution.

I'm going to try to finish Radiant Historia (DS) and PixelJunk Shooter 2 (PSN) even though Ni No Kuni continues to call to me.

Okay, Blackwell Convergence (PC) is done. These games are good filler on the side for when the early rounds of an online poker tournament are booooorrrrinnnnggg. Didn't expect this to be adventure weekend, but so be it.

Question: Is a game considered on the pile of shame if it's 3 months old in terms of "that's how long since I purchased it" or "that's how long it's been since release"? I just got a crazy-good deal on a PS3 and a bunch of games, so I'm guessing that my backlog will now inflate by about 25-30 games that have been PS3 exclusives all along. I'll have to put them up on my Backloggery.

Add Uncharted (PS3) to the February list for me, please.

Pretty please put me down for Machinarium (PC), and Tropico 3: Gold Edition (Multi).

Looking to hit a few Kinect titles off the pile this month. Main reason is to get through some titles with high TA ratios for the comp we're in. Also, that empty 360 bracket needs some exclusive February style love.

Kinect Joyride (360)
PowerUp Heroes (360)
Sonic FreeRiders (360)

I'll also whittle away a few Arcade titles, the below, and maybe some undeclared, but I'll declare those additional ones as they drop...

Deadlight (multi)
Mini Ninja Adventures (360)

Making better progress on dead space 2 than I was. Only on chapter 4 or so, but I'm able to play without it creeping me out. At this rate I'll be playing co-op on dead space 3 without having finished 2.

Quick question: can I beat Mass Effect 2 in 20 or so hours? I put a good chunk of time into Skyrim last month but feel I got nowhere close to completing it.

After a few marathon sessions, I finished Fallout New Vegas.

Cannot decide - Sleepy Dawgs or Dark Souls! Playing Civ V while waiting for the penny to drop - help me GWJ!

I vote Dark Souls.

The three months are since the game released.

Yes, ME2 can be beaten in 20 hours. Maybe a little closer to 25 if you run around and do the bulk of the side quests.

I'm not currently playing anything that is more than 3 months old (and Okami HD is too long of a game for me to beat in one month), so put me down for Dead Space 2 on PC. This'll be a feat in itself since I need to be completely moved into my new apartment by March 1st, coupled with my second-to-last Master's class starting today.

Bad news: I had a sick kid who stayed home and slept all morning.

Good News: I stayed home from work and finished Machinarium while he slept. I thoroughly enjoyed both Amanita games I've played this year and look forward to playing (buying) some of their other titles after I whittle the pile down more.

DSFix applied. Put me down for Dark Souls PC!

Seems to me it would be possible in 20 hours. I think I finished it in 30 or something but I took my sweet time about it.

I've just put a solid hour in Shank 2, and I'm just not sure this game is for me. I keep getting confused with the controls, dying repeatedly... Very frustrating. Might be that I'm not at all used to gaming with an Xbox controller but after dying for the gazillonth time today, I nearly threw the thing in disgust...

Add Uncharted (PS3) to the February list for me, please. Thank muchly

Though I beat it many years ago, getting Evil Genius on Steam has lead me to playing it again.

Good on ya! I'm 79 hrs in and probably have another 8-10 left sans DLC. How far are you?

Man, Bulletstorm is just pure fun.
