Fire Emblem: Awakening

Out of curiosity, how do you transfer your data from one 3DS card to another? I've been interested in picking up a higher capacity one too.

Insert old SD card into PC, copy data to your HDD, insert new SD card into PC, copy data onto new SD card. At least that's what Clocky just confirmed.

Copy/paste the files via a PC or Mac. Simple as that.

Ah, I figured there was some special Nintendo formatting thing you'd have to worry about. I didn't realize it was that straightforward.

Having finally broken down and downloaded the demo, I can only say that Lunatic mode is everything I wanted it to be. (Though frankly I find the inability to save during the demo far outweighs the demo-forced non-permanent death mode. Having to remake your avatar, skip the story, and replay (successfully mind you!) the Prologue when you die in Chapter 1 hurts a little. :D)

I also find it amusing that FE is so mean that even the demo breaks after 30 uses. And I thought losing a Silver Sword was annoying

What do you mean the demo breaks? That's a feature of the full game.

3DS demos have a limited number of uses. MGS3 had 10, for example.

I don't know what kind of person plays a demo more than 30 times, and I don't want to know them.

edit: actually I think I may have played the MH Tri demo disc on Wii that many times.

After picking it up this late, 30 will *probably* be enough for me to hold out until next week Probably....

I know, I was making a joke.

*shrug*

Anyway, Iwata Asks: Fire Emblem. Good readin', usually.

GameTrailers review is up. Spoiler - They liked it.

What stores actually have Fire Emblem? Online I'm hearing the same talk of shortages at Best Buy and Gamestop for release. I talked to the Gamestop where I pre-ordered and they couldn't guarantee they would have a copy on Tuesday. Tuesday being when they planned on selling the game. The release is Monday, no?

I've heard the same rumors, and a friend of mine here was told the same thing you were about his Gamestop pre-order. :/ I stare at my Amazon pre-order with growing suspicion.

When I get off tomorrow, I'm calling Gamestop. If they don't have my preorder I'll get the download. Yadda yadda no unified accounts etc. I've never lost a game purchased from Nintendo digitally.

I caved today. I cancelled my preorder today and cashed out for an eShop card. I have more faith in Nintendo in the long run than GameStop.

When does the eShop update?

Generally around noon on Thursdays, for normal situations (which this isn't). The last first party, day-one digital game was specifically advertised as being available at midnight by Nintendo. So maybe give Spotpass a peek, or check in the morning.

Game is up on the eShop if you want it.

Its avail to download now.

Woo! I knew I brought my 3DS upstairs for a reason! Downloading now!

THIS DOWNLOAD IS SLOW Y'ALL!

Gah... I... I must remain strong. I WILL hold out for a physical copy! If nothing else, the Etrian Odyssey 4 demo this Thursday will save me...

...

:'(

For real. Would it have killed them to provide a progress indicator?

EDIT: Tutorial done, tomorrow on BART I get to dive into the game proper. I'm psyched, can't wait to see further than the demo. Did I mention that the combining units and support features are super awesome? 'Cause they are.

Having a moment in the demo where Chrom was about to die for sure and having Frederick jump in front with a calm, somewhat dismissive "I think not." and block the attack was pretty awesome. It's nice to see what used to be a pretty minor/hidden feature (supports) fleshed out into a pretty cool system.

This is the part where a European pops in and curses Nintendo for region locking 3DS:

*Curse you, Nintendo!*

Hope they at least keep the April 2013 EU launch.

I was curious about Intelligent Systems and if the information on the wiki page is accurate, they have 132 employees. It's crazy how productive they are with that number. Just recently: Fire Emblem: Awakening, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Pushmo, Crashmo, Game & Wario and that SMT X Fire Emblem game teased.

I hope they are secretly working on a 3DS Advance Wars right now

Does anyone have any info about when Amazon plans to ship this, or more generally what their deal is? They claim it'll get here on Wed, but hasn't shipped yet, and still has delays posted (without details). Also, they list it as 'out of stock'. Just waiting for an update from them - if I don't hear from them in a day or two, I'll probably just cancel and swing by Target or something.

I haven't read of anyone having an Amazon order shipped yet. Mine (pre-ordered about a month ago) hasn't either.

My will is rapidly breaking on holding out for a physical copy, every indication seems to be I won't be able to get one for 4-7 days.
