Nobody needs to read the details of your slashfic, space pervert.

Your mom is a slashfic.

Enough about your promiscuous mother, Hermes! We have bigger problems. Anyone have any clue if the character card bug got fixed?

I don't actually care, I just wanted to use that line.

Perhaps a field test is in order?

What's that GIF from?

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead. Was on Netflix last I looked.

Looks like the last field test I ran on your mom. BOOSH!

Awesome! Added to the ole queue. There are a lot of great actors involved.

Unlocked the N7 Fury finally. My second N7 member. I think I have the Destroyer, or Demolisher, something with a D, but I haven't tried him yet. Instead, I gave the Fury a spin. Man she's nimble. Granted, I played mostly Gold matches with her, but she falls for almost everything! Anyway, Having fun with her, but I'm not sure I'm using the Annihilation Field properly. Any suggestions?

I've seen 6/0/6/6/6, 6/6/6/0/6, and 6/6/6/4/4 suggested.

I like Dark Channel too much for the first, and I like power recharge too much for the 2nd, so I'm leaning towards the last one. Only 18 or so since the last promotion but it works well.

Mostly a lot of AF, with DC thrown in for tough armored enemies. And spam throw on anything that is affected by AF or DC for lots of boom.

What Stele said.

I still can't believe, after 1 year, that there are players who cannot connect to each other and have to use an intermediary to host and play together. And even they, they can't ever speak to each other on the in-game voice. f*ckin EA.

To be fair, this isn't EA's fault. It has to do with NAT security, and it's actually good that EA hasn't found a way around it, as if they had then it'd be a pretty major security problem impacting millions of computers.

Sigh. My connection dropped 10 seconds before completing the final mission and I ended up with no credit for my work. Doesn't seem right

1) I got a Typhoon 5. Man, when they nerfed that gun, they really took it out back and beat on it. Level 5 of an UR, and it takes the whole 100 bullet clip to kill a Marauder on Silver.

2) Trying a new build on the Geth Infiltrator: Cloak 6 (with the two power evo at the end), Prox Mine (all damage and debuff, no radius), 0 into Hunter Mode, and everything else Fitness or Power Damage. The idea is to carry a big shotgun and get in close, hit Cloak -> Prox Mine -> Shotgun, with the shields to survive it. I ignored Radius on Prox Mine because the ideal is to actually hit the Boss with the mine and then start shooting. Went great on Silver, but on Gold I think you will need a big Shield Booster, which I'm currently out of. Tried it with the Piranha X, that part seemed okay but not great (I fear the Claymore would be too heavy, the Crusader too slow to fire again and too heavy). Maybe I'll try a Wraith (I have a 4) or a Raider (which I used on Silver, and it was fine but not material for Gold--also, that gun has a glitch that can sometimes get you three shots out of two slugs). I will keep experimenting.

What about the Geth Plasma Shotgun? I almost never use shotguns, but I really liked that one. It's the only shotgun challenge I have completed. That and the Reegar. Maybe that one as well could prove useful.

I did the same on my Geth Infiltrator. 0 on Hunter Mode. Didn't care for it, really.

I've given up entirely on Hunter Mode; all those damn little triangles mean I can never see anything, and I spent the targets/devices objective rounds spinning around in circles trying to figure out which blue @#$!!! symbol is the one I'm supposed to be following and which is just more annoying visual noise from my stupid vision.

Only Geth I use hunter mode on is Infiltrator. And I am definitely tempted to go Prox mine instead.

The GPS got nerfed at some point, though it is still good. Plus, I have used the GPS on the GI so much in the past that I flinch at the thought of doing that charge->cloak->fire motion again.

Works well on the geth engineer as well. Gives overload a little extra kick.

Woot! I am a Biotic God!

They shower you with credits when you unlock those challenges right? Right? All that hard work... rewarded yes? Guys? Hey, where did they put my credits? They hid them didn't they? Oh I see, clever Bioware, you guys!

I just unlocked the Geth Trooper Soldier last night and I hear he's a beast. Haven't specced him out yet.

I agree with Glanton about the Typhoon. I loved the hell out of that gun but now I'll bring my Revenant X instead, every time. They never quite seem to get this whole "weapon balance" thing right. We saw it with the grenade launcher assault rifles, too. If a weapon's good, they nerf it until no one uses it anymore and call that balance.

Maybe that's why no one ever seems happy with whatever they've unlocked.

Speaking of people being happy with their unlocks, anyone know if there are any packs that give a higher chance for permanent weapon mods and equipment? By pure luck I've got a level 4 Hydraulic Joints, which works great with my N7 Shadow, but everything else is at 1 or 2. I'd also love to max out Lightweight Materials for my pistols, so I could start using my Carnifex as a universal sidearm instead of a Hurricane or Tempest. I tend to play a lot of tech-heavy classes too so I'd really love to get my Omni-Capacitors (+tech damage, +cooldown speed) a bit higher.

He is indeed. I would recommend ignoring Hunter Mode and speccing everything toward boosting your shields/tanking and doing damage with your flamethrower. Carry something to strip shields (Eagle or Reeger works well, but I like the Arc pistol too) and then kill it with fire. He is one of the classes I am considering using when I try to solo Gold.

Jumbo Equipment Packs? Or Veteran Packs? Weirdly, I still have a few that aren't levelled up.

Yeah I got back-to-back Ops upgrades to finally max those last night, from being stuck on 4 for many months.

I think both from Premium packs.

To report, I got my challenge completed Saturday afternoon; on Rio. I think it was Bronze. Just two of us in the match.

I think equipment packs are just to give you a bunch of consumables. Veteran packs will take care of some of them (and I'll definitely be able to buy more of them for the money), but some of the mods I'm looking for are rares. Plus I once bought three veteran packs and two of them were nothing but consumables and base classes I'd already maxed out. Such a rip-off.

I'm pretty sure the Arsenal packs give mods and gear...pretty sure.

They do. There's just a larger number of guaranteed weapons than in the other packs.

complexmath wrote:

And that "larger number" can still be really, really small sometimes.

I recommended the packs that I did based on price and value. PSPs give equipment, of course (I am deeply familiar with this myself) but at 99K, they aren't for everybody.

What I like about the Arsenal and Reserves packs is that I can pick the kind of thing I want depending on where I feel lacking. Like my weapon selection was horrible until recently while I was pretty okay with the characters I'd unlocked, so I've been getting Arsenal packs to try and sort things out. It means I have to wait a few matches per pack if I'm playing on Silver, but so far it's been a worthwhile decision. I do wish it were a bit easier to unlock specific things though. I don't get a ton of play time, and progress is slow.
