The PC controls on this feel really weird. Mouse acceleration on or something? I can't find a setting for it, but I hate the feel right now.

yeah I noticed that too. Like there's a different acceleration when you are aiming down sights vs not. It's really distracting.

I think it's both of those things. Mouse acceleration + weird ratio of sensitivity between hip firing and ADS.

In addition to the horrible mouse stuff, this doesn't seem well balanced. Shotgun class is pretty strong. I got beaten down pretty bad on a server with a bunch of enemies running shotguns, until I switched to SGN and flipped the tables.

Not liking it much at all, but I honestly thing the mouse thing is a big part of it.

Aa two-week, open multiplayer beta for all three platforms is coming next Tuesday according to Joystiq. Definitely looking forward to trying it out.

I ordered this from Amazon for the $20 credit, but it looks like it won't be here til next week >:(

You sure feel it when you go from having Prime to not.

I wasn't terribly hot on the MP, but I wasn't in Crysis 2 either and I absolutely loved the campaign. It sounds like they're trying to blend the approaches of the first two games.

Yikes - Crysis 3 vanished from my Origin game list. After activating, downloading and installing the Hunter Edition I went to finish up some work. When I returned and started Origin again, Crysis 3 was missing from my list of games. Trying to run it directly prompts me with the activation window and says the key has already been used. Argh!

Looks like I'm not alone: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Crysis-3/Cr...

***Update*** All fixed, nothing to see here citizen, move along.

Glad that you got it sorted.

I forgot that this comes out today. I may have to get it this week.

Reviews are lukewarm so far. I need to know for myself, but if you're on the fence maybe take caution.

I'm not particularly on the fence myself. I did check a couple reviews and it seems to be exactly what I expect -- a little of Crysis 1 and a little of Crysis 2 mixed together. I enjoyed both of them well enough. I mostly play them for the pretty graphics. I think it'll be fun to sneak around with the bow.

Edit: I definitely would not be getting it if they didn't have the advanced settings and high res textures like Crysis 2 did at launch. I waited on 2 because of that. I just checked, and 3 is launching with the extra settings and high res textures.

Yeah, according to the reviews it just doesn't seem to do much new, but apparently it easly replaces Far Cry 3 in terms of being a PC graphical showcase.

There is a tool that can be found here to allow for some extra tweaking.

Edit: There aren't many benchmarks up, but if these multiplayer FPS data are close to the single player, 2 GTX 680s aren't going to be able to handle Very High Quality at 2560x1440. It's good to see that a game is actually pushing the limits of current hardware. I can't wait to try the game tonight!

I will buy this and play it just to look at all the pretty sparklies.

If the gameplay is even moderately fun I will be perfectly happy.

Then I think you'll be happy. What I've played so far, they made a good call giving you a bow right away with plenty of stealth. I feel like it's a bit more one dimensional, but still fun enough and gorgeous.

How does the bow feel to use? In my head, I can imagine it being pretty satisfying if the audio is done well.

It's pretty thorough. You can choose between different types of arrows (explosive, etc), and you can also choose the draw strength on the bow. You can pin guys to walls or you can shoot off some quick arrows in a crowd.

Just started it and it's fun enough. I like the bow. The very high settings w/ just FXAA are probably going to be too much for my 2x 4GB 680s at 2560x1440. I'm not sure which settings are really killing it. It'll run pretty well most of the time (40-60 fps), but looking at some things will drop me into the 20s. For example, I came up to a door with a frosted glass window and rendering that for whatever reason dropped my FPS way down.

I hope someone does a good performance guide so that I can just turn down the very specific settings that kill your FPS. Going to have to make some sacrifices at 2560x1440.

Edit: I played around with turning down some settings for a bit but once I got the city jungle area, I turned everything back up to very high with just FXAA. I get very occasional dips down into the 30s, but for the most part it runs in between 40 and 60 fps with an average of about 55. I think I'll just stick with the very high settings for now and deal with the eyestrain. It's worth it for the pretties. If you end up getting the game, Thin_J, let me know what settings you end up using with the 2x670.

I'm having fun with this game mostly playing stealthy. Those grass aliens are freaky.

You can get a bit of a Deus Ex HR pile going, but it's not nearly as bad.

They really step up the post processing during cutscenes when on very high settings. Your FPS takes a huge hit compared to the playable sections, but the results are impressive.

Is that Bill Nighy?

Will do, but since I'm at 1080p I'm not sure how much help it will be for you.

My first thought when hearing him was "That's not Bill Nighy's voice." I'd still be curious about settings Thin_J. I may end up going to everything on High but with the Very High Textures and FXAA. The cutscenes dropping into the 30s is a bit annoying. Plus, that would give me a solid 50-60 fps during combat rather than 40-60.

I'll definitely be looking to stay above 60fps at all times during gameplay if I can. Once I manage to figure my settings out for that I'll speak up.

I just noticed this. In the single player, all that acceleration stuff is off by default from what I can tell. I used the tweak tool listed above and the default values were set to 0. I would think that it's the same for multiplayer although I haven't tried it.

In the original Crysis game, weren't you able to change the voice of the suit to a female voice? I find that the grunty, pitched-down, male voice stresses me the hell out. I want to have the following conversation:

Suit: "Maximum Armor"
Me: "Dude, dude, just chill the hell out man. Everything's gonna be all cool. We checkpointed back there just a bit."
Suit (In normally pitched version of the voice): "Sorry, sorry, I'll try to work on that."
*takes fire*
Suit: "Maximum Armor"
Me: "DUDE, calm down; I'm behind cover now, and we're recharging. I gots this under conrol."

Yes, nothing pissed me off more than seeing that they removed it in Crysis 2.

Bah... that's lame. I suppose someone could mod it.

I just watched the 1.5 hour Giant Bomb Quick Look of this and despite their initial dismissive attitude and general silliness, the game looks really impressive.

Now if only this were on Steam...

Man. This game is pretty.

I still haven't ironed out my preferred settings though. There's usually a combination of a couple of settings that can be tweaked down a notch and have little negative visual impact but a huge bonus to framerates. Just haven't quite been able to find them yet.
