In other news, Riot needs to release more skins. I feel like they've been slacking, and for no good reason. Some art and animation that doesn't need to be play-tested for balance that gets sold for money...sounds like a great business plan.

League System
The League System has arrived for ranked play!
Players and teams will now be placed into a League upon finishing their placement matches
Leagues are assigned to a skill tier and are split into divisions, e.g. Gold IV
Winning and losing matches will now cause you to gain and lose of League Points (LP)
Advancing to 100 LP will now start a Division or Promotion Series
Top players and teams can now advance to the Challenger tier, which is visible to all in the client
Champion losses and win ratios will no longer be displayed to other players
Elo ratings have been replaced by matchmaking ratings (MMR) which are no longer displayed
The time penalties for queue dodging have been shortened and an LP penalty has been added

General
We've made database upgrades which have cleared displayed match history in player profiles. All stats are still stored, but your previous 10 games will not show up.
Tenacity now appears on the character sheet as a stat.
All champions with abilities that reduce the duration of disabling effects now gain tenacity instead.
e.g. Singed, Trundle, Irelia, Garen, etc.
Champion tenacity stacks with item tenacity, mastery tenacity and cleanse.
Fixed a bug where Rengar and Kha'zix "On The Hunt" quest might fail to activate when Kha'zix was dead.
Fixed a bug where chat messages from Anivia would display the incorrect champion name while she was in egg form.
Inhibitors and turrets now have kill callouts.

Co-op vs. AI:
Bots will occasionally chat at the beginning and end of games
Added Jarvan IV bot to all maps
Improved retreat logic for bots with dashes.

I'm confused at how the Katarina changes will achieve what they want. People were finding it difficult to get off well-timed Death Loti? Not sure that taking 1.5s off 15% damage reduction and giving an additional .25 AP ratio is going to magically eliminate Warmog's Kat. Just going to make the snowball grow faster once Rabadon's completes.

So looks like out of all the MOBA/LOMA games, LOL is the one with the largest GWJ community. Is that correct? I'd like to dive into one of the games and have someone to give me pointers so I don't smash into the vertical learning curve. Just trying to decipher the lingo on the last few pages of this thread gave me a headache.

I didn't really see it in our elo, but all the higher level kat's just didn't bother with damage early at all. They would maybe get haunting guise, but then just get a warmogs and sunfire. Her base damage was too high. Between those changes and the price changes, maybe terror kats will appear again. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not though... I need to play kat more, and ap kog.

I was in the Smite beta, it's amusing and I think would be something interesting to take the people from league and play some in houses of that game. I enjoyed it alot but you could tell the beta had alot of people that never played a moba/it was horribly unbalanced with snowballing rampant. I'm sure it's better now.

I only start boots in a lane against blitz. Im still not sure with my adc start though. I've tried cloth and 5 pot as well as long sword and 2 pot. Flask is still interesting but im not sure with the cost now.

There are still the placement games where you aren't in a league yet if I remember correctly. Think it was still 10 for solo and 5 for teams.

You got it. If you had already completed the required placement matches for Pre-Season 3 then you will be automatically placed into a league based on your current Elo rating.

Sins of a Dark Age beta just got going too, but I don't think there's too many trying that yet. LoL seems to be the place. Although a lot of people have DOTA 2 invites if you want to try it on Steam.

wouldn't it be great if we just had a straight up elo system for ranked instead of some fancy funky wacko system requiring promotion series and crazy crap.

This feels like the carebear bonanza league patch. Honestly. What's wrong with elo. It's not like the quality of an average match is going to improve. How the hell are you really supposed to compare yourself now with anyone.

Haha, that was a fun game. I sold my boots on Caitlin for a Randuins after that. Do not recommend. It felt like Summoner's Rift was suddenly covered in molasses. It was only ok because KingSol was spamming Bloodboil on me and we were stomping them pretty hard.

Although Warmogs and Randuin's made it so the Rengar/Malphite dive no longer insta-gibbed me when we made our final push to the fountain.

Really though, I just wanted to be like Garn.
