Yes, this. I still want a dragon. Next weekend I'm seeing HTTYD live, can't wait!

And I mentioned Love Actually because the same person didn't react to either Up or that movie, which to me constitutes being an android.

Wall-E and Eva were androids, but they had emotions.

Maybe he's a Zombie. A functional, literate, but dead inside Zombie.

Hmmmm, or maybe he just has no soul. He iiiiis pretty damned white, and this is coming from the whitest of white boys.

This picture someone sent me yesterday.

Pardon my correction, but Wall-E and Eve are robots. Androids are humanoid.

And Veloxi, for the second time, I'm going to back away from a conversation with you involving HTTYD. I don't think there's any point in discussing anything with you that has to do with that movie. Cheers.

Dammit, WHO is chopping onions up in this Female Doggo?

Pansy.

Damn, my allergies are at it again.

*goes to hold kitties*

This always manages to do it to me:

I saw Les Miserables this afternoon. It's easily my favorite musical. It was very very good.

My wife told me that she loves that I cry during Les Miserables. I think I cried more than usual watching the movie. It was very very good.

Finished The Walking Dead game a few days ago. The pipes didn't burst but things got misty for a minute.

Mine did that too, and then a week(ish) later, we watched Secondhand Lions with our daughter, my wife pointed out how it her how it made me cry too.

Silly dust allergies.

There you go. Right-damn there. I got nothing out of Up. Yes it was well put together. But for me, it was missing something. I didn't want to be any characters in that movie. Nor WallE. But I wanted to be the kick ass man that Duvall was. That is the key, same for my story many pages back about Iron Giant.

That scene where Caine takes the boy aside and tells him that Duvall is teaching the punks what it is to be a man. I'd still like to hear that speech. Goddamn boat in the pond. Men, real men, on the porch. Sweet stuff. I never would have guessed by the box cover that I would have liked that movie at all.

Second Hand Lions gets me big time. My grandmother is cut from the same cloth as Robert Duvall in that movie and anything that makes me think about her mortality tends to get me.

"Take me back" by Babybird from the album "There's Something Going On".

It just popped up on random shuffle. Gets me every time. That mixture of anger, frustration, and ultimately the futility of wishing to change the circumstances of his partner's abuse and attack and it's waves of destruction/devastation left in it's wake...

I'm not going to direct link the video of the song as it is quite brutal in it's beauty, but if you're familiar with their work, or even want to taste tears evoked from a darker place, do yourself a favor and YouTube it. Link in the spoiler tag below.

I actually got a little misty watching the Budweiser clydesdale commercial during the Super Bowl last night.

Dammit, why did I watch that. I knew watching it at work would just make me want to go home and hug my puppy, yet I did it anyway. And I've still got 5 hours left in my work day.

I just wanted to say I chuckled heartily at your tag+avatar combo. Is that tag a change? Well played.

Here's an extended version of that commercial. I like the pacing of the ending in this one better, the hesitation before the hug.

By the way, the naming contest for the foal at the very beginning is over and her name is "Hope".

I actually caught myself getting misty-eyed at the end of Lego: Lord of the Rings when everyone bowed to the hobbits. Stoppit, eyes!

Erm, uh... something in my eye...

They don't make 'em like that anymore.

It must have been mentioned already, but by far the #1 film that gets me is Grave of the Fireflies. Not just a few tears either, I cry for hours after watching that movie. It is such a sad story.

Three moments I can think of:

It brings me great shame, but there's a part in Super Mario Galaxy where Rosalina reads from a storybook. It's an optional scene that slowly gets added on to as you complete the game. There's a moment during that story that will usually cause me to lose it.

The second time was watching this. You can't explain why some things have such an emotional attachment to you, but they just do.

And, finally, the main theme to To The Moon will do it.

I don't flinch if human characters come in harm's way, but seeing a dog die on screen makes me want to bawl my eyes out every time.

I cried three times during the Fringe Finale. So well done.

It's the finale, so spoilers.

I remember how sad I felt watching this many years ago. I felt so bad that I couldn't help it.

Silent Running Final Scene

I remember seeing that as a kid, not long after it's release. I must have been 4/5/6, not sure, but it was my earliest memory of really crying to the point of breathlessness.

I kept asking my parents why they left the robot alone, all by himself. The sheer depth of loneliness and isolation just crushed me. One of the strongest memories I have from early childhood. I don't even think I cried that much at my Grandmother's funeral, which was shortly after that.

I never understood why Lowell destroyed Huey. Even though it was damaged, it could've kept the other drone company.

This is apt considering this site and our community:

This one got me.
