I know someone who has that as their text message notification. It's intoxicating.

HUNCH HUNCH (WHAT WHAAAAAAT) BUH BOH!

A late night run in with Youtube:

EDIT: I see AMV's have evolved since the last time I saw them:

Years of being told your AMVs suck and are completely unoriginal may have led to this.

This short film is simply amazing.

@TempestBlayze - it was the intro to Wreck-It Ralph; designed to showcase a new piece of software that lets hand-drawn art be integrated with CG shading & textures quickly.

I'm surprised that's up on YouTube. I remember looking for it after seeing Wreck It Ralph. It was the best part of that movie (which was incredible).

Edit: These were up back when I checked, and are very interesting.

That was amazing. I loved it!! I see something like that, and I´ll I can think of is...I WANT TO CREATE. Loved it, thanks for posting.

A feed so cute I posted it twice...

Found this rendition and thought it was great:

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody, cover by Laura Jansen

Great attitude! Wrong genre!

Panhandlers gone wild... wait until the end!

Their music director is some kind of insane genius.
"Any thoughts on the instrumentation for this arrangement?"
"XYLOPHONES. MELODICAS. BASS DRUMS. TRIANGLES. CYMBALS."
"That's... an interesting choice. And the musicians?"
"TINY, INSANE CHILDREN! WEARING UNIFORMS! WITH MEDALS AND GOLD BRAID! GOLD BRAID EVERYWHERE!"

I keep watching Paperman again and again. Ultimately, I think it's better than any of the Pixar shorts that have been made over the years. I have volume one of the Pixar Shorts, but not volume 2.

The problem with sharing the experience with others is that it ultimately needs to be experienced in a theater. I can't really just send a link to someone with the short and expect them to get the profound experience that I did watching it. You really need to see it in the theater or try to closely replicate it in a home theater.

Get your popcorn, sit down, turn off the lights, turn up the volume, and watch the film.

I recommend following up the short with Secret of Arrietty or Wreck it Ralph as was originally intended.

I think you're right, that watching it in a theatre as intended is the way to go, to fully absorb it all. But it worked with me. I haven't seen Wreck it Ralph (because they only had it dubbed here in Mexico, and I HATE dubbed movies so I refused), so I didn't see it in the theatres. I saw it here, on youtube, on goodjers, at work, during the day, and it worked. It just worked. Hell, I would even venture to put this in the Manly Tears of Manliness thread, how powerful it was. IT definitely pulled all the right strings and pushed all the right buttons. It almost had me going.

I figure, if I had watched this in the theatre, perhaps that "almost" would've been a certainty. Either way, I really enjoyed it.

If you're wondering what the Jonathan Coulton cruise is going to be like, wonder no more! Emperor John Hodgman unlocks JoCo with his lightning fingers and then we have a party.

Hi, filthy skimmer here. I checked the last two pages, hopefully it's not a dupe, but I'm willing to take that risk for the largest glacier calving ever to be filmed.
