3rd name for OD.

Better than Outworld Demolisher.

I prefer Outworld Douchebagger.

First game as pudge last night due to an SD and really no other option. I hate people that play him because half of the time it feels like blind luck just throwing hooks with no risk. I still feel that way, but it was a fun game and I ended up going 9-7-20 or so, and a few of my hooks were actually really good, although I admit that I just chucked a few at the fog and got lucky twice.

Well, blind luck is part of it, but there is also making educated guesses, warding for vision and relying on bad positioning from your opponents. Of course, there are still the incompetent pudges out there that just get lucky. And that luck snowballs too easily.

I mean, ya they weren't all blind luck, they were more educated guesses. But the fact that it's a 0 risk vs tremendous reward, just annoys me. I can't really think of another skill out there that is like that.

Spear.

Spear is good, but it doesn't change the location of an enemy from 1300 units away haha.

I just mean 0 risk Vs Pretty good reward.

Ya there are plenty of those, lot of nukes, ion shell, etc. I'm just trying to find a comparison that is as game changing as that.

BS NP ult, I think might be the next Bs-ish.

Edit: But mostly for its own team. KS bastard!

Your first game after you turn on share match history, will now pull in all games on dotabuff during the blackout period. Their new method using the API takes a little longer, but it works. Matches seem to show up within about 20-30 minutes.

Good couple weeks for me. BH over 70% and my overall WR keeps climbing, and mostly solo queued and random. According to DoTA2 client now 330-294.

Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't do better solo-queuing. Or at least being a bit more selective about it. I have some people on my friends list where I've won only 1 in the last 13 games. They aren't a bad player, but the team always seems to fall apart when they are in a match. And it's not like they are a huge amount of fun to play with anyways.

That being said, I'm steadily closing the gap to break even, so momentum is still moving in the right direction.

Now what about scheduling some time to play some CM with a regular team?

I have the best luck usually queueing with 1 or 2 others, and not a full team, that and I like playing with you because you pull me down to Gold usually

Sundays are best for me, especially now that football is over.

If there was a steady group I could probably make time on Sundays to play regularly as well.

Still hesitant to pub without at least one reliable person. The last few matchmaking games I've played, I either carried teams of newbs to victory ("What's mid? How do I equip my sword?"), or get destroyed by a more communicative/skilled group.

I can understand that sentiment Deadmonkeys. I was feeling much the same way coming up. I'm always (or almost always) open to grouping, but the disparity in match-making may not make for a much more comfortable game. Willing to give it a shot though. But really, you just have to push through and eventually the matchmaking will settle.

video and harry? Thanks for the games tonight. That was some of the most edge of my seat dota I've played in a good long while. We definitely need to get a team together for some scheduled games if we can get more of that.

Ya, they were all close to the end, luna wasn't a great choice in that last game, i guess I was just more a sacrificial lamb which I guess worked out in the end.

Pudge was fun though.

And Video, that game you tried to lose for us was platinum haha.

Yeah I just saw that. If I had known, I wold have chosen something I'm stronger at. Or at least wouldn't have gone for an unconventional build. C'est La vie.

Luna wasn't a terrible choice, but a better initiator would probably have been the way to go. Eclipse is still a lot of damage to dish out in a team fight. Slightly nullified if you always give it right to Rubick to follow up with. Ultimately it seemed like we just had to wait for them to use up enough BKB charges so that we could burn them down effectively. I feel like if they had got their counter-push organized better they could probably have taken the game at one point, but we had stronger team cohesion.

Well, Husk was terrible at using his items. Life built Eye and Desolator.

And I finally stopped getting involved before I finished my items. There were a few clutch moments there at the end when using my actives saved the day. Well saved the day for me. The rest of you not as much.

They beat us in everything but Gold. Because me and Harry were GREED.

Ya, we should have lost the last one. I'm not a good luna, I was trying to think of a good offlane, pusher but without like a manta or linkens, she just got pummeled.

Yeah, I wasn't really thinking about weaver taking the offlane. But I should have realized that she could stick in there and stay alive. Took forever to get some items and actually be useful though.

So here's my pattern. Win Gold. Lose silver. Awesome.

Who was the new guy last night?

It's interesting how .... um, lets see. We work well with people we ply with a lot, and when new people, competent people even, come we get out of sorts.
Some bad choices last night. Partially a communication thing in the team comp section.

Interesting to see a doom game where I destroyed in gold next to one where I get decimated in Silver.

The guy last night was someone that I've had some good pubs with and good conversations with at other times. I'm not sure that I would tie our issues in with the new guy ... well, the early Undying feeds were unnecessary in the first match, but that was not the only factor.

But we were all terrible. I know that I certainly was. Bad choices. Bad mechanical play. Bad draft, particularly in the first match.

Well that's what I mean. It's sort of funny -- it's not "blame the new guy" so much as how delicate our team work is.

(IE: oh he's more a carry melee character -- I should give him Troll, I should take...I dunno, ES)

I don't think I would call our teamwork delicate. We do have a serious problem with communication falling apart when we encounter a bit of adversity. And there is a tendency to externalize deaths "I told you I needed a gank over here" or "why do we not have wards up?" rather than recognizing a failure in lane or even just a well executing play from the other team. Barash in particular likes to curse the gods for unfairness whenever someone gets a kill on him, legitimate or not.

Last night I think Saean was having a particularly bad night and was getting down on himself resulting in worse and worse performance over the night. Similarly I could never quite get my game together. And once there is a deficit, the team as a whole can't recover.

So I have 12 copies to give away. After having played 2 hours.

Um.

Steam keeps sending me messages to give them, so...PM me if you want one, otherwise I'm deleting them to stop getting said messages.

I now return you to your Dota 2 discusssions....
