Random non sequitur posts catch-all thread

This guy (nsfw)

I might be addicted to youtube

That guy looks likes someone I used to work with...

pierogi are delicious and I should make them more often.

I have decided I have the worst random impulses. Right now, I want to watch all the American Ninja movies because I never got to as a kid.

Is it too late to emancipate yourself from your parents? I mean it's Michael DUDE-ikoff.

Took me months to get my mind around why I didn't really love "The Avengers" or empathize with any of the protagonists, and now I understand. It's a David vs. Goliath story, but they inadvertently ended up making Loki David.

I still get confused for a moment every time someone mentions "The Avengers"

Our cat has started a new thing, where if he sees me heading towards the bathroom, he will rush in before me and jump into the tub. He will remain in the tub until I leave the bathroom or will move to the sink if I'm getting in the shower, but most times he will not leave until I leave, even if the door is open. He doesn't seem to do it with anyone else, and it only started happening about a week ago. He's a very weird cat.

My cat does the following to both myself and my wife:

Of all the toys my kids have, the ones that get the most mileage are settings (lego minifigs aside).

This is why the GI Joe carrier and base, or the Millennium Falcon were so awesome. Until you had a setting you were just playing with an action figure on the couch or on the carpet.

My kids are using the playmobil spy base with lego, playmobil, squinkies, and random action figures.

I think this is why I fell for heroscape. It's the ultimate flexible setting (next to lego).

The best lego memory I have from being a kid was building a lego base with my dad. It's bitter sweet though. My brother and I were fighting and Dad got mad and dismantled it.
It was cool, it' had hinged gates and the original space lego set with the astronaught printed on the big square piece, as a base office. We just parked all our cars and ships in inside the gates.

Settings, parents. Buy the playsets which are settings. When you play Lego with the kids, build the setting.

Season 1 of Better Off Ted is MUCH better than the second/last one. Too bad.

My first cat would shadow me everywhere, resulting in the wondrous phrase "honey, I think I just peed on my cat!" when he tried to touch the stream.

Our current Japanese bobtail does something similar to my wife whenever she uses the downstairs bathroom.

I think its an imprinting thing, they just want to be close. But it does suck when they don't follow you back OUT. And then you leave them in the bathroom. With the lights off. All night...

Then you feel like a bad kitty parent when that happens.

These Sunday fun days are killing me. I really need to take Mondays off work, but I'm afraid that would just result in Monday fun days...

There's a reason I close the door when I go to the bathroom.

Yes, but that's entirely unrelated.

When the cat races you to the bathroom, the status of the door doesn't change the fact that they're in the bathroom with you.

[Edit] Besides, that's not full proof!

We tried using a door-stopper, but our cat decided it was a toy and would frequently bat it out of the way and get shut in the bathroom. We ended up using a rope around the doorknob to keep the door open.

deleted.

Too bad you can't pick it up and toss it out.

Wait.....

Eh, extra step added between "oh, I have to pee" and "ahhh, I'm peeing" is too much.

The Beast With Two Tails? Impossible!

Pee on the cat. Problem solved.

Pee on the cat. Problem solved.

And a brand new "enraged urine-soaked cat" problem is created.

You can't make an omlette without peeing on cats.

No, hold on. People that pee on cats shouldn't live in glass houses.

Ummm, a peed-on cat never boils. Yeah, that's the one.

A clever inversion of the already peer reviewed and published concept.

Why do I get a feeling this will come back to haunt me in my tagging thread...

Hurry up so I can suggest "Cat Scratch Pee'er".

I just forgot how old I was for a good few minutes.

It makes me sad when I read guys have to "give up" gaming because their SO doesn't like it.

I guess it applies to any hobby, not just gaming, but it just doesn't sound right.

Of course I don't plan to ever get married, so I'm not exactly normal to understand that...

It is sad.

Assuming that someone's gaming time is healthy, it is sad to think that someone would service a relationship like that. Both service like that, and relationship like that.

A recent experience with my sister in-law brought to light that people of my generation still haven't accepted gaming and a mainstream media.
The words that were spoken to me were, "you a thirty something year old man, and you still play video games".

I answered by saying, "and I don't intend to stop. The games industry makes more money than Hollywood. It's a perfectly valid form of entertainment, and I refuse to see it as a childlike pursuit".

I delude that, in your mentioned situation above, the victim's significant other has asked that he "give up gaming" because she doesn't want to be with a nerd. She has some social hangup about who she's seen with. Of course, none of this may be true, and any number of situations are possible. I just choose to fume over this one, for some reason.

Why would someone have to give up gaming? Cut back on an unhealthy amount of time maybe? Same for TV, Fantasy Football, Model Railroads, Hockey team...

The fact that the request was made at all is indicative of a problem, and it's not necessarily the gamer in question's problem.
