GWJ Winter Craft Swap

I am going to start stalking Canada Post workers - nothing in the mail today either. I'm starting to develop pouty face!!

Thank goodness I have those garlic scapes to comfort me (and make me "fragrant" so that I can breathe heavily on all CP workers. All of them will wither and fall when I breathe!! HAHAHA!!!)

hahah. You could eat one of the garlic cloves I sent raw! That would make CP workers never deliver your mail. Items sent from US to Canada lately have been taking an extra week to two weeks to get across the border. :S

Canada Post must have heard me (or smelled me) - I got a lovely pair of fingerless gloves in the mail!

Thank you, Katy! These are absolutely perfect.

Thanks for the heads up on that one. I wonder what the hold up is? I really ought to get a US post box to have things shipped to - and I would if I had a way of getting to it! Oh well, things will get here eventually and this was a nice Friday surprise.

If you ever find a way to get to the states to pick up packages you don't need a US box, just use Ship Happens for $5 pickup per package or better yet Pic it up for 2.50 per package pick up.

You said you had large hands, so I had my husband try them on to see if they would fit.

I received the scapes! Thank you, Bonnonon!

I don't know when I'll be able to start your project. Lots of overtime this week! I'll stay as soon as I can!

no rush! It could be a couple months if you need the time.

My hands are a little larger than your average woman's - mostly longer, but a bit wider too. The gloves are the perfect width, and just a little long so when it's really cold, they cover my fingers really well, and if it's not too cold, I fold them back but can stil text if I want to (or play Dragonvale, so addicted to that game).

2 of my shinies are finished! The rest are in process and hopefully will be done tomorrow so I can ship this week. This is the first time I've done this style so I'm excited to share them.

**edit: and I'm DONE! Other than packing up and shipping of course. Looking at the mailing list now though, and I'm not seeing Duckideva's info. Is she not participating this round?

When I asked clover in a PM I got this response "I never got details for Duckideva, so we'll just figure her in for a spring swap if we do one, don't worry about this round."

I am glad to hear you got everything completed and cannot wait to see picture.

Of course. I can wait.

Received cards in the mail - they look great! Thank you, Kiri!

I esp. like the Totoro and the zombie cards. I might keep those for me, but the others I think I can find very good uses for. My sister has a b-day coming up and I think I will send one to her.

Maybe I should go check the mail and see what other treasures might have arrived...

THe zombie cards are a hit. May have ot make more of those...Today I got a Tardis stamp in the mail....Looking forward to some fun with that one for the next swap.

Do you make your own stamps? I have heard it can be quite worthwhile and easier than I would have thought to make them.

No I do not make my own stamps. I am not that artistic

Three packages still out there. Did they arrive safely?

Katy, I LOVE what you sent Will post pics when all has arrived.

Just dropped my packages off at the post office!

Nothing in the mail today - maybe tomorrow!

Why must the post be so slow in getting from the US to Canada? Why?

I just mailed mine out yesterday so I don't think it'll be there this week.

I just checked to see if USPS.com would give me an estimate on delivery. It tells me "Varies by destination" and gives me no option to narrow down the destination. So unhelpful!

Mail going out tomorrah!

Spoiler:

So late. I'm embarrassed.

In hindsight I shouldn't have chosen cross-stitching when I regularly have trouble holding onto a needle these days, but it's the thing I do that looks the nicest. A few of you are getting acrylic paintings, since the needle thing wasn't working out at all for a while. Anyfruit, I appreciate your patiences.

Good lord you lot are talented :O

P.S.: We don't pick up our mail every day, so sometimes there's a lag between when something is delivered, and when we actually have it in hand. It's worth waiting, though! Wows.

Got my package from Yellek yesterday. I love it! It hope it was as fun to create as it looks.

It was lots of fun, I got to play with fire to fuse the silver!

I forgot to put any info in the boxes, they're all sterling, except bonnonon's keychain part is stainless steel.

Wow, you guys make some incredible stuff! I'm greatly enjoying this thread. Can't wait to see the rest!

SillyRabbit, when are you going to join us? Yellek, your shiney arrived today! Well probably yesterday, I was away. LOVE IT!

Received my package from Yellek! It's lovely! Thank you!

Glad you all like them! Mystic, I tried really hard to find a purple marble for ya. I ended up having to go more blue/aqua as your backup color choice.

EDIT: no one wants to read how annoyed I am with Canada Post.

Enjoying the gloves, scapes and cards - must be content with what has managed to get delivered. Also, the gloves are getting mad compliments and admiring looks here, and my sister loved the handmade card from the bundle I got that I sent for her b-day - she's still got it displayed in her living room on a shelf!

*hugs* Maybe Canadapost will deliver the rest soon! So glad your sister loves the card.
