Hey, the Blues won again. Weird.

And on a shootout! Double weird! They got killed in shootouts last year.

It's starting to look like I was right to be excited abut this Tarasenko kid. He picks up another goal and two assists.

Eh, shootouts are about luck. It kills me that they decide playoff spots.

I'd rather do without, but the Blues were awful last year in the shootout.

Also, at least Oshie's shoot out goal was all skill.

A fan in Florida showed up to the game looking almost exactly like Ottawa coach Paul MacLean. Hilarious.

Was Ottawa home opener actually...

Was watching a Florida feed of the game and they showed the guy being escorted? out and said he was kicked out which seems extreme.

Can't see how you get kicked out unless he was also heckling which makes no sense.

Also 2-0 Sens. Not to shabby.

Sorry about that, I didn't pay too close attention to where it happened.

According to PuckDaddy, the guy probably wasn't getting kicked out. More likely, that was the escort for when he got interviewed by Sportsnet.

Awesome game tonight for the Jets! I love watching them beat the Caps! I can't wait until Friday, I get to see the Jets at home against Pittsburgh! Go, Jets, Go!

San Jose is just dismantling Edmonton. My god!

Good to know. I would hate to see someone go to that effort to only be kicked out of the game.

All I have to say is wow... hopefully teams start to get into the swing of things and we some better games soon from all NHL teams.

*whimper* Go Rangers?

Wow, the Flyers, Caps, and Rangers are starting off slow. It's still early and I've already been blacked out of one Devils game due to the NBC Sports Network. Thankfully Saturday night's game was on MSG4.

Zack Kassian might be the most hockey player looking hockey player of all time.

Rangers finally pull out a win on a Gaborik hat trick.

Nash is looking very, very good this year.

Awesome pass by Richards to Nash to a patient Gaborik. Hard to see Richard's no-look behind the back pass in this video.

Canes crush the slugs! There is nothing better on this planet. The Cup is ours.

Best thing about a home and home is the rematch the next night!

Can't argue! Could you have your boys roll over again tonight, please? I'd dearly love that.

Haha...well, the Canes need all the help they can get.

I'll argue that Yakupov's goal with 5 seconds left to tie the game after a previous tying goal was ridiculously reversed is a better thing on this planet. A much better thing. Epic game.

Ridiculously reversed?... There should have been a penalty vs Gagner for crosschecking Doughty in the back right before the tie up of him and Quick.

Saying that... if I was a Oilers fan I would be pumped for that win.

Yes, there should have been, but there wasn't. Just because they didn't call that doesn't mean that Gagner magically interfered with Quick. Stuff like cross-checks get missed all the time, I feel like it's a bigger deal when a goal that gets called a goal on the ice actually gets reversed where there is no actual goalie interference.

Either way it didn't matter in the end. Loved the mood in the building, the celebration by Nail, and the gut-check to pull off the win. What the hell is wrong with the Kings PP? Richards looked lost out there.

Going to the Pittsburgh game tonight in Winnipeg. Wooo, Hooo!

Sens

Turris just scored a dirty dirty setup goal.

The only thing better than beating the Sabres twice in a row is doing it on consecutive nights.

An impressive come-from-behind win for the Canes. Semin has looked dangerous in every game so far, so it was great to see him finally find the net.

Holy carp! That Jets game was spectacular to watch. The first period didn't look so good, but once they got going in the 2nd, it was loud and intense and the payoff was super sweet!

The last 3 minutes of the game the whole arena was going wild!

Man the Jets are on a role! Scary third period. I was not a fan of Montaya starting against his former team as his first game, but we managed to get the win on OT. Phew!

It has been a blast watching the Blues so far. Yesterday was a sloppy game but it was still exciting.

I spent all of Saturday in front of the tv. We get CBC now too, so we're getting the full phenomenon that is "Hockey Night in Canada". Canadian TV is unintentionally hilarious

This compressed schedule is crazy though. I'm just resigning myself to missing a lot of games, and mostly watching on Saturdays unless the Canucks are playing.

Have you seen Don Cherry yet? I hate that guy.

HNIC, for the most part, is a disgrace compared to what it once was. TSN has the better analysts, commentators, and play-by-play people.

BRING ME THE MALFORMED HEAD OF ZDENO CHARA! Broons visiting tonight... you have to go back two years to find the last time the Broons won. I'd like to extend that streak.

The Leafs are back in action tonight, after their first 2-day break of the season. I'm really hoping they have their legs back and they play like they did against Montreal and Pittsburgh, rather than how they played against the Islanders and Rangers.

Toronto is really a jekyll and hyde team this year so far. I've chalked it up to tired legs so far - I figure tonight will be the test of my hypothesis. Buffalo will be a tough team to beat but they have it in them to do it. Just need to get traffic in front of Miller.

One thing I can see already this season that is much improved over the Leafs during the Wilson years: they are way better at getting their sticks on the puck while playing defense. It has dramatically improved their PK so far.
