League Of Legends Catch All

Alright children, listen up. Time to drop a knowledge bomb. Attention junglers:

There was a big change in the last patch that has gone largely unnoticed. Madred's Razor was changed from 25 AD to 25 armor. This change plus the change to the health distribution of jungle monsters means that Madred's is now a better choice than spirit stone on all junglers for both clear speed and sustain. Yes, this includes support/tank junglers like Nautilus, Maokai, Amumu, and Sejuani. You do not need any help clearing the small monsters.

The only time you should consider spirit stone is if you are dead set on one of the 3 upgrades, such as Ancient Golem, if you want tenacity and mobility boots, or Elder Lizard for Darius or Hecarim.

It is also worth reiterating that Ninja Tabi once again reduce damage from jungle monsters. Tabi + Madred's = negligible monster damage.

You're welcome!

It's a good change but I still fight with it when it comes to mana less junglerers. Yes its great early and mid but I don't think it has a place in final builds as much. For some like lee sin, the free ward is nice but to little, I rather get ward stone and have 5 I can throw out for jump escapes. The tenacity in spirit stone upgrade is more valuable to most of my junglers. I have been tempted to build the tenacity dagger on my shen jungle a lot.

I still say Wriggles should have gotten another tier like Aegis did.

It works great on Mundo, Madreds-Boots-Lantern-Ninja or Sorc Shoes and then Spirit Visage.

Quite often, I see myself avoiding the jungler items altogether.

If I can get a gank or 2 early, I can buy a Chain Vest or a Giant's Belt.

You don't need to upgrade to wriggles. All you need is the Madred's, and you're drastically gimping your clear speed if you get no jungle items at all. It's 700 gold. A drop in the bucket for the crazy benefit it provides.

The only possible exception is Mundo since Cleaver is so spammable and chunks big monsters with its % based damage.

It doesn't need to have a place in a final build. Sell it if you get to 6 items.

No, it's really not, especially early and mid game.

Sure, it would be nice to have a Sightstone, but that's 700G from the jungle (and an item that naturally you want to acquire early, so you have to consider the impact to your clear/gank ability).

On any kind of auto-attack jungler, I loves me that Wriggle's. Lifesteal is too useful to sacrifice on anyone who doesn't have it innate to their kit, and Bloodthirster is often impractical for junglers. Madred's is a fantastic first-back item, you want Vamp Scepter anyway, and Wriggle's is a paltry 100G on top. Great for counter-jungling, better objective control, and gives you that emergency ward in your kit even if you happen to go 6-item from the jungle. What's not to love?

And if the game goes really late, it's an easy sell choice.

I would throw the ward stone on lee or jax jungle because of their escape ability. Btw, support lee sin is kind of fun. First time I supported against a twitch that didn't go invisible during lane phase.

Thresh Spotlight:

This guy is crazy. His lantern move is ridiculous. He's going to be one of those champions that is going to be awful until you learn how to use him correctly.

Also remember the new IP pricing structure. He's 7800 IP for the first week of release and then goes back to 6300.

This guy looks to be a beast. That lantern mobility creeps so hard.

AS Mundo works great with this. Clear times are insane. For the money it's great and adds a wee bit of tankiness for ganking.

If his abilities are of general support strength, this dude could be the most difficult champ to play to date.

Mac client on its way.

Finally.

Ugh. Why wouldn't they get rid of PVP.net and have a new front-end before all that porting?

Wizardcrab on Thresh, Fuzzballx on Karthas.

Amazing turnaround for a game that was going slightly against us, especially for Karthas as i was having trouble with annie mid, lots of trouble...then this.

Because PVP.net doesn't require any porting work at all. For all its problems, Adobe Air is cross-platform and would probably represent <5% of the work needed to get the whole thing up and running on OSX.

And thanks to that Polygon link I stumbled across their December story of League appearing in Steam's game database. It doesn't mean much, but I wouldn't expect it to show up in their database unless the deals had already been worked out between the two.

Played a game with double the threshness, double the fun last night. It is interesting to see a support that is almost purely CC. The orb system is cool, in that it requires that Thresh not just sit back and wait while passively leveling and getting gold. He seems capable of soaking up some damage, but not tanky like Blitz or Taric. I will be interested to see how Thresh works. He does not seem to put out much pain, and I am not certain that more CC is what is needed on a team. Damn near every champ has a slow, a stun, a silence. I like that his CC is more of a skill shot than most.

I have a sinking suspicion that Thresh was made as a reaction to the Blitz Ban. And because he is a bit clunkier, will survive the ban hammer. Time will tell, but the new guy seems to be a pretty good support. I am also wondering how long before Blitz gets a major tweak, to take him off the no fly list. Though mostly that list is high CC, or fast jungle champs.

He actually seemed extremely tanky. Far more so than Blitz or Taric. In our bot lane with a Thresh on each side, both had >80 armor by ~12 minutes just from the passive. At this point it was BF sword vs Dorans/Zeal on the carries and neither of us could put much of a dent in the other Thresh. It basically fell down to which thresh used his CC more appropriately to allow one ADC could kill the other.

That lantern is going to get nerfs in so many ways. The leash range on it is too huge to be true, the shield it gives is perhaps a bit too impressive, and the fact that it grants vision as well....? No one man should have all this power.

We rollin'

I feel like krincle cassi bot lane might be a counter to thresh since he doesn't have mr scaling. I wonder if they will time thresh nerfs when the price drops.

Dude, that lane was totally working! We have to try it again when there are no d/c's and our jungler isn't on the back foot.

Indeed, heavy magic poke is probably a good answer to Thresh. It doesn't require Cassi or some other AP carry, just something other than Thresh mirror matches for days. (And some other ADC than Graves.) Sona/Lulu/Nunu/Corki/Ez would probably be good bot lane choices for the week.

kogmaw or teemo would probably be the best ad choices against a strong thresh lane. Darius support could be interesting. Kayle support could also really make a difference. Twitch I think might be able to eat him alive. I think we will see a lot of thresh players build early magic resist to help.

I don't think Kog has the escape necessary to have a chance against a stray hook, and I'm still not convinced Teemo is ever a realistic option as a team's ADC.

you need to tell that to the umpteen million teemos i've ended up supporting bot lane.

I have never thought it was best to play teemo as an adc. He is a beast hybrid and amusing full ap, so I suppose on the right type of team build you could make it work, especially with the bruiser meta that is going around.

On hit ap build with a hurricane is fun.

teemo ad, kayle support with jayce top, jax in the jungle and ryze mid.

Been holding off on yapping my trap to give S3 some time to settle in, but right now the whole AD bruiser Warmog's/Black Cleaver/LW/Sunfire Cape thing is just silly. They know about it and it's an iterative process, but I don't recall a time since I started playing that the meta and itemization were so predictable and uninteresting. I don't know what they plan on doing about it, but I'm also looking forward to the end of starting flask + pots or 2838383 pots. Not only is the amount of early sustain ridiculous but I feel like it really hurts champs who specialize in early sustain (Warwick, Vlad, and Fiora for example). Overall I'm playing a lot less, partially because work has me running nuts during the week but also because so far S3 is just not doing it for me.

That said, while I can't find anything on this, some dude on the forums mentioned that some of the AP items that took hits at the start of S3 (Rabadon's and others) are potentially getting buffs to give APs a boost.

Finally, for your enjoyment, early (subject to change) patch notes for Steel Legion Lux including Olaf nerfs and Tristana buffs:

http://www.reignofgaming.net/news/22...

I still think Season 2 ADs were the kings of predictable and uninteresting builds. IE -> PD -> LW 95% of the time.

absolutely, and AD has by far the most interesting choices now.

So last night guys. My phone went off half-way through the second match. It was an old friend I had not spoken to in awhile. So that is why I played braindeaderer than normal.

Highlight of that one for me, with my half attention, I was mostly spamming W on Brand. Oily is handling 2 people in land, and all I had to do was walk down to get some kills/assists. Instead I base and I hear him say "No, that's alright, you can leave me."
