Kentucky religious conservatives cannot wrap their head around theory of evolution

That was genetic splicing. You might as well say Spider-man shows that a spider can evolve into a person.

Just using it as a mock-up of what such an evolved being would look like.

With extra emphasis on 'mock'.

I think it would be more like Baxter.

As an aside, Baxter Stockman has come up in at least 4 different contexts in my life this week, which I think is more than even when TMNT was on. It's a little alarming.

But did those fruit flies evolve into persons?

No, but I like to think that they wrestled with the great questions of life, there in their tubes in the class closet, feasting on banana chunks. It could have been a lively fly society.

And at the end, we freed them. No genocide for us! (Although a few sadly never revived from the ether we used to sedate them under the microscope.)

Did you get informed consent?

Where do you think Robear came from?

I kid of course; we all know humans arise when birds mate with bees and storks steal the resulting baby and deliver it to our kind.

Wrapped in a cabbage leaf, don't forget that. We are all Spring Rolls. Or maybe dolmas. I'm not up on modern obstetrics.

Last week I introduced my wife to a couple of documentaries. Religulous and Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.

With what is going on in Texas right now, has the religious right abandoned Intelligent Design as a sanitized creationism, or is it still alive and well? I am not getting the sense that there has been a huge amount of ID talk lately. Rather Texas is just inserting creationism into school.
