Upcoming Indie Games to Keep an Eye On

By the way, the Edge of Space devs are streaming gameplay live right now: http://www.twitch.tv/edgeofspace

It will be a weekly event from what I hear.

Anything that reminds me of the excellent gem Drill Dozer gives me a nerd...excitement. Good luck to you guys.

Thanks! We have been getting really positive responses from people, and our Kickstarter is doing great. We even found someone who did a quick look in russian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2EDTmQ3BK4

I'm pretty sure he likes it - he giggles when the boar butts his head into unbreakable blocks.

I'm not familiar with Drill Dozer, but after watching a game play video, it looks pretty neat.

Anyone interested in splitting a 4-pack of Monaco?

http://www.pocketwatchgames.com/Monaco/

I was so interested that I immediately purchased the 4-pack regardless of whether anyone else chimes in. 3 keys ready for spreading around, 45/4 = $11.25.

There is now a catch-all for Monaco, and a spreadsheet for coordinating 4-packs (linked in thread) for anyone who wants to use it.

I just ran across this game called Datajack. They had me at "2D Cyberpunk Stealth/Action RPG". Looks a bit like Hotline Miami with more depth.

I'd say it's time for an OP update.

Here's something to munch on.

I started making a list of my favorites, but then I realized I was putting down most of the entries. I wish AAA games would get me this excited. Maybe I'll get my wish this year?

Edit:

Oh man, one of their recs doesn't come out until 2014, but wow does it looks great.

I've been looking at some of the Top 50 from Cyrax's link and one of the one's that really caught my interest was Rawbots. I grabbed the pre-alpha yesterday and while it obviously has a way to go, I think this is a game I've been looking for for a long time now.

Quite competent Super Meat Boy knockoff:

Not quite on topic, but I didn't think this needed its own thread.

Ludum Dare 25 results were posted the other day, and I took a good chunk of today to play all Top 25 in the Overall Category, plus the very top from others. Here are the noteworthy games (compo) I felt are worth mentioning and trying yourself.

Pixelprospector has a list of 80 games from the IGF, and here are some of the best I'd never heard of before.

That's ouuuuut, MeatMan!

Also, we have a thread for it.

Also, it's damn cool.

My bad! Didn't see that thread.

Kentucky Route Zero. Old school adventure with beautiful art style

First episode is out now.

Thread for that one too.

Saw a bit about Teslagrad on RPS. It looks fantastic.

Apparently Derrick the Deathfin is now available on PC. It was originally a PS3 game.

Starbound Navigation System

It's like Mass Effect, except no cumbersome ship to move around, and no scanning minigames (hopefully)!

I want this game so bad.

This was featured on RPS today and it looks pretty awesome. Official site/blog here.

Posted something new about Card Dungeon tonight: http://card-dungeon.com/screenshot/

Let me know if you prefer me not posting about it here.

This is the relevant thread, and as long as you're not posting an update every day, I don't see the harm. Looking good there, literally.

No such thing as too much marketing, get more content on that site! Nice update on that, as well. No Twitter or Facebook (meh) pages? For shame, you naughty boys. Editorial note: "Before THAT Fredrik build [...]" Built, no? I think there's suppose to be commas after "that," but there might be creative leniency there. (Sorry for getting off track.)

That looks super cool, Fredrik.

It really does. Right up my alley.

Thanks guys! I really do appreciate it and I promise not to post too much in here about the game.

cyrax: Definitely need to up the content on the site, but everything has been in such a broken state that I really didn't want to show it in a half assed state. It's just recently that things have been coming together and it actually starts to look like I imagined it would. And thanks for the grammatical corrections. I am a terrible writer.

I am really looking forward to trying out Feedback. I hope you get to chose your own music to play to.

Man in a Maze - Risk your life for a new toaster!

Hi all, here's the trailer for my latest game, 'Man in a Maze'.

I'm trying to get it greenlit, any votes would be really appreciated!

Looks good, and reminds me quite a bit of Pac-Man.

The original pitch was: 'Pac-Man meets Splinter Cell', which is obviously a bit reductive, but gets the point across. If I was re-pitching it with hindsight I'd say: 'Pac-Man meets Splinter Cell and Bomberman on the set of The Price is Right'... but that may not be as catchy.

It plays a lot more 'puzzly' than Pac-Man, as there are traps and hazards. Many of the enemies will kill you as soon as they see you, so you need to employ some strategy and sneakiness.

I thought of those other two, not Splinter Cell, from the gameplay. You can say you succeeded in getting that across.
