NFL 2012 Divisional Week Thread

Nope.

Houston defense at least doing their work.

Gronk hurt as well. And Welker with a drop. So far this game is more interesting than I expected.

Best performing unit in the game so far, except maybe Texans' special teams.

Aww, no White Kevin Faulk.

Looks like Gronk rebroke his arm. Ouch.

With any luck, Pete Carroll has finally killed off the "call timeout before the kick" idiocy. Had he not called timeout, the Seahawks win. STOP CALLING TIMEOUT ALREADY.

Great pass break up by Talib, commentators? No, just uncalled pass interference.

So 49ers vs Packers turned into a shootout, and Texans vs Patriots is a defensive battle?

Actually, this is the Patriots and Texan offenses trying to out-suck each other right now...

IN WHAT UNIVERSE DOES THIS MAKE SENSE.

Yeah, there's little to suggest that it is effective. Most kickers seem to do better with a practice swing.

It doesn't ice the kicker. Sitting on the sideline for an hour and then having to win the game in the first try, that's ice.

Any sufficiently advanced pass coverage is indistinguishable from interference.

Danieal Manning makes a Te'o Tackle on Ridley.

God I loath the Patriots...

It's also Nantz and Simms. Nantz is dreaming about the Masters, and Captain Obvious is just babbling.

Credit to Boogle for showing me this, the reason I keep making fun of Te'o: http://deadspin.com/5975416/manti-te...

Not really. When the whistle blew, they hiked and kicked the ball after, for practice.

It was definitely a rushed "let's get a practice kick in" kind of thing today. Not a real try.

EDIT: I think the early "ice the kicker" timeout can be very effective. Wait until he's lined up, taken his steps back, and then bam, timeout before he nods at the holder or they try to kick. That makes him start his routine all over but without getting to kick.

This waiting until the second of the snap crap is terrible though. It's a practice free kick with no pressure. If he makes it, he'll make it again. If he misses, he'll correct.

I liked his act of "Who called a timeout?".

Who dreams of playing ping-pong with the Williams sisters?

I dream of playing with Daniela Hantuchova, but not ping-pong. Unless that's code for something.

And if the team's half paying attention, they'll just snap the ball and kick it. You'd have to do it basically before they get lined up, and 30 seconds of standing around won't really change anything.

How the hell wasn't that PI?

Schaub's receivers aren't doing him any favors...

Stop advertising the Grammys to me, CBS. The Grammys are like the Pro Bowl if the only names on the ballot were Tebow and Terrell Owens.

Dear NFL advertisers: I like my current insurance company just fine, I have no money to invest and I don't need pills to get my d!ck hard.
P.S. Bud Light, you need a new ad campaign. Yours bores me because I've seen each of them dozens of times.

Every time I see Vereen getting work, I think what a nightmare it's going to be in next year's fantasy draft, trying to figure out where to put Ridley. 1200 yards rushing and there's no guarantee he'll get the main body of work in any given game.

Welker with several drops already today.

Nice one-hop there, Brady. Texans might have a shot here.

Only if the offense can do... something.

They need to take advantage of these opportunities. I wouldn't count on the Pats being off-target all game.

I was prepared to think poorly of Deadspin for piling on to nice people, but then they started printing more bad pics of Teo and I couldn't help loving it.

It's 2013. How have they not figured out the official's mic yet. Every other game it doesn't work or it's choppy.

You know, after watching way too much CBS coverage over the last 2 weeks, it's amazing how much I want them to just shut up. I don't know how they managed it, but every single CBS announcer is competing with Gruden for the most words/minute.

The NFL is really weird about field-level technology. I wouldn't be surprised if they're using old junky radio tech for one reason or another.

That's some catch by Welker.
