NFL 2012 Divisional Week Thread

Play man and Colin will run. Play zone and he will pick it apart with his arm-cannon.

How'd that work out against Seattle 3 weeks ago?

Can I relax now?

Do none of the announce teams have a producer with any grasp of the English language??

"You can't defense that!"

My god. English teachers everywhere are crying.

I can't help but remember that San Francisco took Kaepernick in the draft exactly one pick after Cincinnati took Andy Dalton.

Currently plotting Mike Brown's untimely demise.

181 rushing yards, most ever by a QB in any NFL game ever?

Oh, right, because THAT is the point you said, "You know, maybe Mike Brown isn't the best owner he could possibly be."

What a cracking day of football.

Hah yeah his wikipedia entry is interesting.

Since Brown became owner, the team has had only 3 winning seasons out of 21 and has a winning percentage of .361 (115-204-1) in the regular season and .000 (0-3) in the playoffs. In 2008, the Bengals set a record for the most games needed under one specific owner to attain 100 wins (288). In 2010, the team set a record for the least games needed to lose 200 (both considering and not considering playoffs) under one specific owner (314).

The Bengals hold a number of distinctions for the time frame of Brown's ownership: It is the only team with three nine-game-or-more losing streaks. It also holds six of the twenty-five 0-6 starts (24%) and four of the thirteen 0-8 starts (31%) in that time.

bleh.

I can handle that though. 49ers beat the Pack... The Pack didn't beat themselves.

Whenever you give up 45 points, close to 600 yards of total offense and don't win the turnover battle your going to be hard pressed to win.

Lets hope the actual 'best' teams make the final though. As the game was getting out of hand my friend said 49ers vs Patriots could be great. I said or we could get Houston/Baltimore vs Atlanta.... Sorry theres nothing epic about that ;P

Last straw sir. Last straw. It's friggin impossible to genuinely root for them. They're never going to have a a chance. And every year or two there's some other clearly missed opportunity that ends up being a win for some other team.

I need to just give up and pick a different team. Screw locality.

This is late but I want my season picks to reflect the WHOLE season.

Broncos
49ers
Seahawks
Patriots

Yawn. I hope today's games are better than Saturday's sorry lot.

Spoiler:

I'm kidding. I think Saturday might have been the single best day of football in a decade.

Manning choking in the playoffs? Inconceivable.

Don't make it, I want this to become the longest... darn.

That is the thing, even the year the Colts won the Super Bowl he didn't actually play that well in the playoffs.

While he (Manning) didn't play a great game...if your DB's actually play the deep ball correctly with 30 seconds left in the game the Broncos probably win a tough game.

Chiefs hire Green Bay’s John Dorsey as new GM

The hiring of Dorsey completes the Chiefs’ change in direction from the administration of general manager Scott Pioli and coach Romeo Crennel. After the Chiefs finished a 2-14 season that will give them the first pick in this year’s draft, the Chiefs fired Crennel and had a mutual parting of the ways with Pioli, their general manager for four seasons.

The Chiefs on Friday hired most of Reid’s coaching staff, which includes offensive coordinator Doug Pederson and defensive coordinator Bob Sutton.

It's at the very least, a completely new direction from the failed regime of Pioli. It's all wine and roses for now. At least it is until they get on the field and can be judged by their record and not their potential. But KC is overwhelmingly happy with how Clark Hunt has cleaned house and is moving the team forward. All he has to do now is swing a trade with SF for Colin Kaepernick so Alex Smith can get his starting job back.

Think how AJ Green feels.

Kaepernick has made Michael Crabtree outperform AJ Green since he took over as starter. Of course, Crabtree was drafted to be a top receiver too. Looks like it wasn't all his fault that he hadn't performed like that until now. 6 TDs and four 100 yard games in the past 6 games.

It's just funny how instantly Crabtree became an impact player as soon as Kaepernick took over. There were a couple slow games at first, but by start #3, Crabtree took off.

Wooooooooooooooooooooow what a game that was. The Broncos threw that game away like I have never seen a team throw a playoff game away. Worst safety play ever. All you have to do is not let the guy get behind you, that was pathetic.

Not only that, how do you kneel on the ball when you have 42 seconds, 2 timeouts and Peyton Manning and all you need is a field goal to advance in the playoffs. John Fox should absolutely be fired for that one single decision. Worst coaching call of all time.

31 seconds, but yes, I agree. Terrible idea.

Playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

John Fox will never change.

And the Seahawks secondary is fun to watch.

Surprise surprise, the SeaChickens are talking trash again this week.

If by "fun to watch" you mean "fun to watch get away with pass interference on an industrial scale", I agree with you.

Jacquizz bringing the pain. Not bad for a 195 pound back.

Seahawks are just not matching the energy of the Falcons. I guess that is what a week off gets you.

This looks just like last week, except the opposing QB isn't injured and going to hand the game to Seattle. :p

That's how Fox rolled in Carolina ... field position and defense. Still, that was weird even for Fox.

Uh oh. 4th down desperation fail. SeaChickens on the ropes already.

Forgot again...

At least I can get one pick in before kickoff.

Patriots

Should have kicked the Field Goal. Too early in the game to be going for it on 4th & 1.

Pete Carroll is a cocky SOB.

Favorable call there for Gonzales, but the Falcons are having their way with the game right now.

Never too early to go for it on 4th and 1. Kicking = playing to not lose. Always.

And now a bomb to Roddy White. Seattle falling out of this game before halftime.
