Recommend an Xbox Live Arcade Title?

So I received 800 MS space dollars with my recent tithe to the Xbox Live overlords. Any recommendations on a decent Live Indie or Arcade download for 800?

Shadow Complex?
Mark of the Ninja?

That's all I remember off the top of my head.

Mark of the Ninja is fantastic, can't recommend it enough. However, it is 1200 MSP, so you'd have to splurge a bit to get that one (totally worth it though).

If you're in to music/rhythm games, Rock Band Blitz is pretty great, and Fez is definitely worth a play.

Castlevania: SOTN ("Have at you!" classic try to 200% it)
Geometry Wars Evolved² (beat your friends list)
Battlefield 1943 (awesome multiplayer action)
Beyond Good and Evil (great single player)
Fez (play it twice)
Perfect Dark (old school shooter)

Check out the demos before your decide!

Can't remember how much it is, but I loved Iron Brigade.

I'm spitballing here, but maybe Shank (or Shank 2)?

Beyond Good & Evil HD is really great

No Context Theater points me towards:

Doom II
Minecraft
Trials Evolution
Fez
Bionic Commando ReArmed
Ticket to Ride
Geometry Wars 2
Castle Crashers
Deathspank
Outland
Torchlight
Pac-Man CE DX
Renegae Ops
Super Meat Boy
Stacking

Checking out a few suggestions. Thanks! Torchlight and Iron Brigade on my wish list. And Shank looks fun.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is really great.

oh I forgot about that one...and co-op too...

Limbo is amazing. Also the walking dead series is an incredible experience.

Shank over Mark of the Ninja? (That's me +1'ing MotN. I've never played Shank, but never heard anyone recommend it over one of the most highly-praised Xbox Live Arcade games (that'd be Mark of the Ninja).)

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is on sale for 200 MSP until Tuesday. Other favourites and +1s:

Bastion (1200)
ilomilo (800)
Rock of Ages (800)
The Walking Dead (0 x1 + 400 x4)

The xbox live I've but the most time into is Catan, so i suggest that.

Great co-op game. I play it with my 10 year old still.

While I was ready to jump on Mark of the Ninja, I don't want to spend another $5.00 for 400 Microsoft Virtual Dollars.
I'm fine with these as they were free. But I'm morally opposed to providing MS any revenue for these stupid points.
When/if they ever change over to a $ system I'll be more than happy to buy a few titles on occasion.

That said, Magic 2013 is 800 pts as well, but I think I'd get more play time on that with Steam, so I'm going to keep an eye on sales and see what strikes me.

Anyone who'd like to add another Xbox Live friend, feel free to send me a request.

You can also buy Xbox PC titles with either points or real money. Not sure if you could do a combo of the two.

I don't like the idea of points, but in practice, they've been great for me. I've never bought them at higher than 80% of face value, so everything I buy with them is in effect on sale.

So I don't care if they stay, as long as there are sales and promotions that make them advantageous. On the other hand, they do need to start letting you buy stuff with real money for the Xbox, just like the do on Xbox PC or the Win 8 store. I think even Xbox music now takes real money.

They're available on other platforms as well, but Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes and Dungeon Defenders are both pretty awesome. I loved Iron Brigade, but that game is really designed for multiplayer, and I don't think there will be much of a community left at this point.

Mark of the Ninja is bloody fantastic. 1200 points, sure, but worth it. So worth it. Also, Super Meat Boy is a great game, and I believe it's under 800 points by now. Both are worth checking out.

Also worth mentioning is that all XBLA titles have a free demo, so go download crazy and test-drive titles of interest.

Geometry Wars 2. If you don't have it, your gamer card is hereby revoked.

Surprised no one has mentioned this one: I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1

Free you say?

If you like vintage Sega, then they also have The following on XBLA for 800 space bucks.

Sega Vintage Collection: Alex Kidd & Co
Sega Vintage Collection: Golden Axe Collection
Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World Collection
Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage Collection

Surprised I forgot about that. Excellent pick!

Flotilla is another good XBLIG game too, though it's also on PC.

Whoa, whoa, hold up... They remastered Beyond Good & Evil? How is it that I missed that? Well, I know what I'm doing tomorrow!

Get the demo first. I didn't think this held up well, remastered or not.

Yeah, I felt the same, and was really disappointed in it. Felt slow and plodding, and just didn't do it for me.

Counter-point: I never played it originally (despite owning it for both (!) PS2 and Xbox—still!), and thought BG&EHD was great. Played it to completion, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah, I also think that's one thing people don't think about when they wish the MS points would go away. Now and then 4000 point cards pop up for $40 (retail $50) and I grab one. So I'm basically getting any games I buy at 20% off (in practice I also wait for the games to go on sale). I'm pretty sure you can never get real money at 20% off :-).
