Quick, everyone stare at obirano!

I shall bask in the stares of random strangers from the Internet.

Maybe I should get a webcam.

Is there any direction this can go where your pants actually stay on?

CINEMAX (2:30am CST) - Bare Repeating (re-run): After consuming a mystery drink from the Tubes, obirano sets up a webcam and removes/replaces his trousers for hours on end, giggling quietly to himself and terrifying the world.

Wow, this thread died.

I would have commented earlier but I was in NYC for the weekend.

Excuuuuuse me, Princess!

Seriously though, this is the best online community to ever exist. I wish the entire Internet was like this. (I'm sure I've said this before, or have read someone else say it, but it always bears (bares?) repeating).

Bears repeating.

Obirano, you have to tell us what the liquid is...

I've gotten into infusing liquors lately. It's a lot of fun.

It's a little homemade Bourbon Cordial. Basically, it's a pre-mixed Old Fashioned. So either straight out of the freezer, or over ice with a splash of soda.

It's in the freezer right now. I'm planning on having it tomorrow evening. I've always wanted to try an Old Fashioned (Mad Men) so that is great to hear.

Thanks again.

It's not quite alcoholic enough to keep from freezing, so keep an eye out!

Why do you ship them in a cat's butt?

Maybe I should check my cats for a surprise Christmas present from Lester_King.

Beats me, man. My wife packed it.

Santaloot!

Got home from a long, less than wonderful day to find a package in the mailbox. Could it be? Could it Stanta have really changed his mind and decided I wasn't a bad boy after all?

Suspicious looking package. There's a Thinkgeek monkey on it, though. Could it be a trap? Only one way to find out.
IMAGE(http://imageshack.us/a/img38/9817/img1789n.jpg)

Don't poke the monkey, you'll only make him angry.
IMAGE(http://imageshack.us/a/img405/2184/img1790lg.jpg)

Everything's wrapped in nice paper and packed with care.
IMAGE(http://imageshack.us/a/img823/8197/img1793uy.jpg)

A really nice card inside and it's signed from Kiri.
IMAGE(http://imageshack.us/a/img543/1567/img1794ek.jpg)

First, a big squishy package. I feared it may be roadkill or something but no, T-shirts!
IMAGE(http://imageshack.us/a/img846/8996/img1799im.jpg)
(Left is a bunch of Linux code printed upside down. At least I hope it's Linux and not some sort of self destruct code. On the right is Gundam Style. Now that song is stuck in my head, excuse me while I ride this horse around the livingroom for a bit.)

Next is a square package, kind of heavy. Could be anything, let's find out. Hey, it's an iCade controller for my iPhone, cool! I'm really looking forward to testing this thing out.
(Is that a conjoined twin using it on the box?)
IMAGE(http://imageshack.us/a/img211/7889/img1796kr.jpg)

And finally at the bottom of the box, a small package. In my haste, I forgot to snap a photo of it, but it's one of these:
IMAGE(http://www.fishwest.net/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/CO69TOPS2.jpg)

It attaches to my fly tying vise and has gauges on it for hook and feather sizes and a magnetic strip to keep flies and bare hooks from falling and disappearing into the carpet. My wife's bare feet thank you profusely!

Wow, I'm blown away by all these goodies, thank you so much Kiri! You did a great job cyberstalking. I'm super glad I decided to jump into the Secret Santa fray this year, it's been a lot of fun.

It should be noted that Lost Cities, that I received from my Santa, is now wife-approved!

Checked the tracking number today - looks like it finally was amended with a status other than "Processed Through Sort Facility - Chicago" (where it had been listed since December 19th.

New status indicates it has cleared customs in the UK, and hopefully this means it'll be showing up at Haakon7's place soon.

Side note: boy do I feel like a dumbass that I didn't take an extra day to wrap things up all pretty-like. I've enjoyed the unboxing shots from others, and had (obviously incorrectly) been told by the local UPS store that if I shipped things out right then I might have it there in time for Christmas.

Oh well, hopefully my gift still menaces with spikes of holiday cheer.

Matt, I am glad you like it

Thank you to everyone involved for making this smooth as silk. I had a blast, and I only hope I can join the stalking and more next year .

Tracking has shown my package as "Customs Clearance" since January 3rd.

I assume the fact I paid for priority mail must mean it is to be carried to Haakon7's residence on the back of an elephant, and that the Royal Mail has tasked their best and brightest (though unfortunately blind) elephant-wrangler with guiding it there safely.

Because it definitely doesn't seem to have been about getting my gift there faster.

Was it "priority" mail? You know, with the quotes and all?

Dimmerswitch, we appreciate your concern. Unfortunately you must have mistakenly chosen our "Priory Mail" delivery service. While we do our best to get your packages to their destination, our monk couriers are still catching up from the backlog built up during the observance of Advent. I'll make sure that your complaints get forwarded on to The Big Guy, but he typically just listens. You'll know he heard when your packages show as delivered.

Hopefully you found my reply illuminating,

Tragically, I did not think to check for air quotes or monastic terms of delivery.

My only hope is that the items get there before Haakon7 expires of thirst.

That said, I fear being overtaken by a fell mood if the Royal Mail doesn't manage to get my gift there soon...

I adore this post.

Is Haakon7 the only one left to receive his goodies?

Glad everything else has gone smoothly this year. Thanks for organizing Trichy!

Let's eat Trichy! (Or: commas.)

My guess is that they are still clearing customs. I'm not sure if they're going to get caught up in some kind of import duty, but I'll let you know when I hear something from the Post Office!

Hmmm - I think they are declared at the approximate amount I paid for the [redacted]. One of my artist friends volunteered his time, so the UPS Store guys said that I didn't need to add any extra amount to the declaration.

Giving a gift that shows up a month late and costs money would be a pretty lousy capstone to this process. Brother Charles, you can expect my complaint forthwith - please ensure it reaches The Big Guy as soon as possible.

Spoiler:

Dimmerswitch looses a roaring laughter, fell and terrible!

Seriously, thanks for doing what you did, trichy. It was a blast, and you managed it well.

Even if you required some assembly work from fleabagmatt.

Assembly was easy, aside from the fact that there were no batteries included in the package.

I'm strictly wind-up. Batteries are only needed for the special vibrating attachments (sold separately).
