I think I'm Rothving on Uplay if anyone wants to add me (my high-scores are currently pretty terrible if that's incentive), do we have some sort of Uplay google doc or something on the go?

Not that I know of, but a few pages back some of threw out our Uplay names that you can add.

I'm CrankyBaby on Uplay.

And just so we're clear, if one of you best my score in a trial, you better believe... I won't do anything about it, as I uninstalled the game. I'll look at you scornfully, though!

I'll have to check, but as far as I know my Uplay name is the same as everything else: forum name, Steam ID, XBL Gamertag, etc

I also assume there is a function built in there so that some of us could group up for some co-op if there is interest, but since this is the first Ubisoft game I've played on PC, I haven't done any snooping around at the Uplay hub so I have no idea.

I think it's just an invite system in-game. (for the co-op)

Once I finished it, I kinda haven't felt the desire to go back to it. Unfortunately the shine wears off quickly once you do all the hunting stuff. Well for me it did. I found that once I had everything fully upgraded, it was just a matter of finishing the story, getting some achievements and then, that's kinda it. I'm not sure if I want to go back any time soon. Shame really. I mean I enjoyed the game a lot, but the replayability for me isn't there.

I feel the same way: it was fun while it lasted, but I'm done. I feel like I got my money's worth, and I gifted another copy for Christmas. I hope my friend and my husband both enjoy it. I adored the first half, and liked the second half enough that it wasn't pure achievement-hunting to make it to the end. I just don't have the desire to go back.

If they update to throw in an option to reset all the outposts in a post-game save, I could be tempted into going back, but yeah I've already offered to lend it to a friend (although he hasn't taken me up on it yet).

Since they can't even get the UI patch rolled out to the consoles, I imagine the chances here are low. I hope I'm wrong!

Ok, got some friend requests and added a few more. Rakyat Trial time!

Ok I checked my Uplay and I'm actually "thetannmann," so if you get a friend request from that name, it's me

I Just started playing the game and added the names that were listed above. The Uplay friend request from Jucofett is me.

So far I suck at hunting.

Hmm.. I added a "MountaineerWR27" last night so an account does exist under that name.

That could be attached to my Xbox Gamertag if that's possible. I'll have to look into that.

I am tempestlayze on uplay.

I am really loving this game but holy crap the menus drives me nuts! It takes me forever to craft stuff because they are in so many ridiculous sub menus in which I need to double click. It may not sound like much but the double clicking just makes it worse. Most of the time I am skinning any animal that I see because it really have no idea or don't remember what a certain thing needs to be crafted. If I could at lest have a hotkey for the crafting window, skills window and inventory, that would be nice.

Yeah, there's a balance between "loot everything you see, it could be useful" and having to manage it all that with the poor menus. The alternative is looting nearly nothing and then having to remember when I come across something that's useful, or wade through the bad menus again so I can find out, so I can hunt and craft straight away. It kind of makes me want to cheat to get all the carrying capacity upgrades at the start and eliminate that section of the game. When I want to nullify a section of game, I don't think that's a good thing.

Try the function keys. I know at least F1 and F2 opened menus for me on the PC.

IIRC...

F1 = crafting
F2 = skills
F3 = inventory

Finished it up last night! I enjoyed the story a lot more than I was expecting after hearing that it was dull on just about every review I had seen, so that was a pleasant surprise. I started to jump on multiplayer and try it out, but I realized that apparently no one on PC plays it online

I tried multiplayer and then seconds into my first match was faced with host migration (it's peer to peer then). After watching it for quite a few seconds I quit and never tried it again, it made me task-kill it to get out too.

That's unfortunate. I got this game not only for the single player story, but I also remembered the awesome time I had in the first Far Cry with the player created maps. I never tried that feature with FC2 because I just absolutely hated the story, so maybe that's where it all went wrong, but it also looks like I'm not going to get that fix like I was expecting, which is very disappointing.

Yay! They've fixed the giant Molotov bug.

Every time I'm really starting to love this game sneaking around and taking over camps they do something like...

Spoiler:

Fighting the giant. I just died 3 times in a row from guys I barely can see. I don't know why they would think anyone would think it is fun to make your screen almost pitch black then hunt glowing eyes with a bow and arrow. It also doesn't help that I came into this scene with only 1 med syringe.

If I'm remembering correctly:
your arrows are explosive and you have unlimited ammo. You can spam (instead of carefully taking aim) the arrows at the ground by their feet instead of trying to hit them directly. If you do that I think I remember the explosions making it easier see where they are. edit: oh also, with only 1 med syringe, it still sounds like it'd be pretty rough, but if you didn't know: you can craft more while paused if you have components, even in the middle of a fight

Thanks. I didn't realize the Giant breath fire attack was dodge-able so I managed to save my syringe. Then I pretty much just followed your advice and kept the explosive ones armed and aimed at the red dots on the radar instead of trying to figure out where they were on my screen. Staying out of the foliage helped a bit too.

I just got done playing the intro up to getting to the first village....holy hell, that was an incredible way to start a game!

Spoiler:

My stomach was actually knotting as I was chased through the jungle

Definitely. Still think it's got one of the best openings I've played.

My criticism of the opening would be it's a little too long before it comes out of "do this, do that" mode.

Wait, when does that happen? (Zing!)
