What are you playing this weekend?

Welp, I got stuck in a quest in Skyrim, so I took a break from that to finally dive into The Darkness II. Holy sh*t what a good game that is. Put more time into that than anything else, surprisingly. REALLY well-written with wonderfully violent gameplay. So, so good.

No Halo was played, but Skyrim and Persona 4 both got some love.

Playing as a werewolf was a ridiculously fun change of pace after sneaking around for 200 hours in the former, and the dungeon you must rescue Rise from in the latter was an eyebrow raiser. I'm continually impressed by the mature themes present in Persona 4.

Got just a hair into lvl 18 on Skyrim last night. Sneak is up to 50, Archery in the 40s, 1H in the 40s. Smithing, Alchemy, and Enchanting in the 30s.

I love that *DUNK* sound that happens when you get a successful sneak attack

Got three days off starting tomorrow. It smells like the end for Nier's ending's C & D as well as Dark Souls. Perhaps some Oblivion and Mass Effect 2. Got the munchkin with me for two of those days so Once Upon a Monster and Kinect Party will be on heavy rotation for sure.

How old is your munchkin? I've been wondering about trying Once Upon a Monster with my 3 y.o. daughter.

It may be too boring for her now that I've let her take the controller in Dark Souls.

(For minutes at a time in pre-cleared areas with railings.)

My girl's five now (just turned in December :D) and while she has taken a liking for Blue Dragon in the past month or so, she still enjoys Once Upon a Monster.

You should download the demo and see how she likes it, but it should be a good fit, generally speaking, for her age. Coincidentally, my daughter is a bossy backseat gamer, especially when I'm playing Dark Souls. She always wants me to go to the Valley of Drakes and kill dragons. She strongly disapproves of dragon-less games.

At work now so can't check, but I'm almost positive there's a counter in the situation room.

Forgot I had this installed on the work laptop, so I just did a quick check. There's a day counter for stuff you have coming up (research/construction/etc), but the actual day is only set up at a date.

JillSammich, what's the date on your game?

It says April 19, 2015. I might start over. This was my first game.

Eh, I wouldn't start over just yet. Maybe pop over to XCOM Thread can see what the experts think over there

Since there's absolutely bugger all new out at the moment I'm going to be hitting the pile HARD this weekend. Going to finish up Primordia and Penny Arcade 3 for starters and also tackle The Curse of Blackmoor Manor, one of many of the Nancy Drew adventure games I've accumulated through various steam sales. (I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the culprit is NOT in fact a supernatural creature borne of a centuries old curse, but is instead Old Man Smithers in a costume, who would have totally gotten away with it if it weren't for this pesky kid.

That or smugglers).

This weekend I'm hiding my pile with a full screen of the SDA marathon and APEX 2013 streams. Instead, it's Pokémon Black all weekend while the streams are on.

Demon's Souls for progress, Dark Souls for fun.

clavicle - I did not realize there was a demo! I'll have to grab that!

I'm playing the Apartment Application game on Saturday, coupled with the Video Editing and Compilation game throughout the weekend. If I can snag the time I'll put some hours into Borderlands 2 to edge it closer to completion.

I'll be playing the lighting and texturing game...

I think I'll fire up Skyrim, not played it for at least 8 months, and a load of patches have been released. Ill probably get the DLC when GOTY/Collection/Complete comes out but I'll probably make a new character tomorrow. Other than that, maybe some Uncharted Golden Abyss and/or Fifa Football for the Vita.

Dark Souls and some Kinect Dance game at a party on Saturday night.

Probably Skyrim and/or Demon's Souls.

Pretty much all Skyrim this weekend, with maybe some breaks for Wing Commander Saga or Anno 2070. Too much good gaming right now, my blog suffering. :/

More training Master Assassins (I'll soon have all my dens locked down), courting Sofia, Altair memories, etc. Loving this game despite the things I'm compelled to avoid (bomb crafting, tower defense).

This weekend is a repeat of last weeks entry:

The bomb crafting is straight forward, I avoided it too the first time through, but found them very useful the second time. Try it out, they do help, especially with how far you can throw them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not above a little cherry, smoke, or sticky bomb in the right situation. Is there any reason to trudge into the deep end of bomb-making, though? It seems like there's advanced stuff I can make but no indication of why I should care.

Ah right, I didn't look into it that much - the unique ingredients etc. Yeah I pretty much stuck to the generic British Gunpowder, shrapnel bombs.

Seeing as I just finished up Oblivion's Knight of the Nine DLC, I may as well continue on this path to bee-line for the end game, then onto Shivering Isles. That is, assuming nothing social happens to crash those plans.

Skyrim this weekend. And maaaybe a little GW2 as I've been bitten by that bug again.

Max Payne 3, Torchlight and maybe Mechwarrior Online.

Between NFL Playoff games, of course.

Same here. While I love watching football, I've been jonesing for a console game. Which has been impossible, since I mostly play those on weekends after running my errands.

Oh well, the 3rd Street Saints will be receiving my attention this weekend with possibly some Torchlight 2 sprinkled in.

Right now I'm staring at the cases of Bioshock, Need for Speed: Shift 2, and Assassin's Creed II, trying to summon up the will to play any of them. And I'm really struggling.

I'll probably end up playing Bioshock just so that I can get the thing off the pile and redeem myself as a gamer. I'm really struggling to finish most games these days. I think Red Dead Redemption and Dark Souls were the last two I completed and in between them I tried and failed with Dead Space, Deux Ex: HE, Assassin's Creed and Skyrim.

Final Fantasy XIII, probably some Epic Mickey 2 and I think Netrunner are on the table.

It's an all Saints weekend--sitting at 50% completion right now. I thought I'd actually be burned out by now, as usually is the case for open world games for me. Honestly though, blowing up stuff or just driving around the city has not gotten old yet.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 and hopefully Lords of Waterderp in addition to what Demyx listed.
