If you are married your wife will do the job of tallying how much you spent on steam. After the summer sale my wife said to me "100$+ on steam?! Did someone steal your credit card number?". I told her it's a time sale that happen once a year. I think she accepted it. On this sale I was more careful .

I am going to be in big trouble with the games I bought this sale. Good thing is almost every game I really wanted, I got with a good price and held off when it was first released (Borderlands 2, Dishonored). I was also able to get Prey and add to Steam which was cool.

Now on to find Singularity at a good price...*hides*

@Niseg - Well, for your in-law, as you told me, that's a good move. Tell me how much hours they put in TL2 in 2 months ;P I know you told me Warlock's time was quite high!

Oh, and I haven't put my tally here yet. Still calculating those sales, and eyeing those Encore sale, which I consider part of the winter sale.

You made sure she didn't see the statement this time?

How did I miss this 5 dollar Sleeping Dogs?

Feel free to regift it -- it's yours to do with as you please.

I can't believe it's almost over. In a way, I'm a little sorry to see it go.

My wallet isn't.

It was a pricing error. They fixed the price quickly.

Urgh, just realize, Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion didn't make it in the "Encore" sales..

Anno is there tho.

Now, question for the masses.

Sims3 Showtime, or Anno 2070?

I want a simulation of some sort :)

Anno! I'm having a blast with it - enough so that I picked up the DLC expansion the next day.

I had a ton of fun during the sale. I really loved gifting to as many as possible, despite the budget constraints this year. It was fun trying to find stuff people wanted, but also to try and gift it to them before others also gifted the same item like a game itself.

This community is the best!!

Very light year, this year. Good excuse to go through the pile!

Purchased:
FTL
Magic 2013 Deck Pack 2

Gifted:
Simcity 4

Received:
Legend of Grimrock

Last minute sale consideration? What's the verdict on the Witcher 2? I played the first one, but didn't finish it. Stalled out in the swamp chapter. However, I'm reading back through the thread and can't really find a consistent answer if Witcher 2 is "good". Most seem to say its different than the first, but stands on it's own?

Seems there was a hacking incident over at Ubi, again.. http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/far-cry-3/1...

Does Anno use Uplay?

I just searched for "from:steam" in my email.

How good is your GPU? If you have a relatively modern GPU, get it. It's worth it for just the graphics at that price. Most of us really enjoyed the game when it came out. They've improved it a ton with a tutorial and different tweaks at this point. You won't stall out like in TW1. I had the same thing happen to me twice in TW1. I finally got past the swamp on the third try and finally finished TW1. It just takes like 15-20 hours to really get into that game. That's not the case with TW2. It's not a perfect game, but it's a great game in so many ways.

I've read nothing but great things about both Witcher games

Yeah, The Witcher is a bit polarising, either love it or hate it, I haven't seen many "well it was okay" opinions. I think a lot of it depends on what you want in your RPG, and some were turned off by the sexual content. Give it a quick read-up.

Yes, Anno uses it to manage DLC, for in-game rewards, and probably for some of the social features.

and some were turned off by the sexual content

I would word that, at least in the first game, as 'outright misogyny'.

That game issues trading cards based on female NPCs you have f*cked.

I do not understand why I would ever need to say anything more, or why the game remains popular.

In the 1st one, wasn't all of that optional? Is it optional in the 2nd?

Thank you dejanzie for Civilization 5.

Please tell the Persona 4 thread and the TF2 server that I love them and I'll see them again, some day. I'll remember them in my dreams.

It's part of the "mature" content of the game. Actually comes off more juvenile, but obviously that's true, a lot of people like it.
