Forza 4: Catch-All

looks like you guys already started. send me an invite between races

I wonder if it is possible to quit a club you joined so you can join another one? I joined a club from another site, but it is pretty much dead. I'd like to join the GWJ club, but have to figure this out first.

yes, it is an option when you go to car club menu.

Where were you slow people?!

I was there! Sorry I had to bail early, had something come up. Despite being the slow guy it was fun times. I actually didn't like the couple times I was out front at the start, I felt like I was in the way and messing up people's lines. Gotta learn to stay in control better. Wanna do it again some time.

Look for a separate thread soon, which I will create. The idea is that each Monday preceding our Saturday race time, I will announce the tracks and cars(or car classes) on the docket. I also think alternating weeks with Forizon races may be a fun way of going about this. Thoughts? I'm willing to be the driving force to make sure this happens, you just need to show up!...and, practice well and we will have some fun close races!

People shouldn't be afraid to race for fear of bumping people either. Right now it's just all fun, for me anyway. Well, when I'm not cursing about going off a corner again. Typically after T1 we were spread out enough where it wasn't much of an issue, at least from my caboose vantage point. Given the current time slot I'm probably sober too, although I think that might have been part of my issue. You've gotta race like you train! I wonder if my wife will buy that line when I start hitting the scotch at 10AM on Saturday.

I thought it was a blast guys, thanks. I'll keep an eye out for that new thread. I'd rather just stick to Forza, but if others want to switch around, I understand. If any of you want to test stuff or practice on other nights as well, just shoot me an invite. It's my go to game for now.

Have any of you tried playing Top Gear Soccer? Looks like it would be fun.

OKay, I quit my other group so I'd appreciate an invite here. Gamertag is Sarbeth. I make no promises on my skill level, but it should be a hoot nonetheless.

I have both games so I can play both. Heck I have most racing games so I say we should play 'em all! It's pretty much the only thing I like playing multiplayer even though I always lose badly.

Coolbeans, expect an invite soon! Welcome to Forza resurrection!

I sent you a friend invite, coolbeans. I can't remember who sends out invites for the club.

A weekly thing sounds fun, although this time next week I''ll be on a beach in Belize instead of playing Forza.

edit:
Mantishaussered!

Well, our condo does have wifi. Maybe the wife wouldn't mind if I packed the xbox?

FTFY.

Spoiler:

Enjoy the condo, we're not going anywhere.

^^this^^ as someone who was up front I couldn't agree more. Racing with GWJ is about having fun. Accidental contact doesn't matter. As long as no one is griefing, I don't care if I am getting hit.

I'm going to hop on for an hour or so if anyone wants to run some laps.

In general I wasn't too worried about it, but the in first race we started (before you managed to hop in) I started at the front of the pack. Several times I looked in the rear view as I braked at a corner to see smoking tires and fish tailing. I just felt kind of bad that I was messing folks up due to my lack of knowledge on how to race. I'd have rather just eased off and gotten out of the way is all.

To be fair, though, it was mostly Liquidmantis I saw back there and even after he got by me he did a good job of smoking the tires and swerving off the course all on his own.

Hey, to be fair I did drive maybe overly defensive and ate dirt a few times to avoid messing up someone's paint. There's no excuse for the times I mowed the grass when I was off by myself though.

Just finished a marathon 30-minute race with Fogrob up and down the mountains of Japan. It was back and forth, but he took the lead with about 30 seconds to go and ended up winning by 6 seconds. Very tense!

Looking forward to my rematch!

Great, if you're neck and neck in lap times with Fogrob then that's one more rear bumper I'll see pulling away.

In your defense Beans, your BMW was far slower than mine. Plus I was using the guard rails to help me around a few of those corners.

Topic created here.

As you will note, I can't make it this week. So someone will need to step up and host.

I will post lap times through the week though.

See you next week!

Go practice! I just posted my latest lap times for this Saturday's race in the other thread.

Saturday racing info updated in the other thread.

Wasn't sure where to post this but I guess this is as good as anywhere...

I'm assuming some of the players of Forza have a Fanatec wheel (in my case CSR). Has anyone heard about compatibility with the Xbox One and Forza 5?

I saw a video somewhere (maybe Wired) where the PM of the new controller mentioned that the way controllers connect to the Xbox One has been revamped. So we may lose wireless connectivity but I'm hoping we'll be able to utilize one of the USB 3.0 ports at least.

Not yet, but I'm hoping for compatibility. If it's not, even with at least a fully-functional work-around, then I'm probably done with console racing. I enjoy the "RPG" aspect of Forza but overall PC racing is so much better for me.

Yeah, I'm REALLY hoping so, but I'm not optimistic -- they were giving off a very strong "no old hardware will work" vibe yesterday. Massive bummer with Forza being a launch title, since it would probably be enough to lock me in as an early adopter if I knew that my CSR would work with Forza 5.
