I was NOT going through the checkout process 20 times to follow through on that threat/promise/pact with the dark lord.

So there we go, Ratpocalypse avoided..

I should have read this entire post first, but...

I just send out four random copies in order to keep your dream alive.

I just sent out two, as well, and I'm toying with the idea of a third. Seriously, Valve needs to let us buying multiple copies of games. Since December 21st failed, a Ratpocalypse could be fun.

Edit: Ninja'd! M0nk3yboy, you're bat crap crazy, you know that!

Let the Random Rat Rolling commence!

Okay, the clock's ticking on the Steam Winter Spend-fest and I have $2.53 left in my virtual wallet. Since it would just be wrong to leave it in there, what's the best thing to get for before the sale ends?

5 copies of Bad Rats...

Keep in mind, I've probably got most of the obvious ones, what's good that's less well known?

Just got one last pang of desire... Should I pull the trigger on Torchlight 2? It would break my rule of not buying anything over $5, but I had a ton of fun with the first one...

It will be on sale again, though maybe not until summer. A good rule of thumb ( that I should listen to ) is if you will play it now, then it is worth over $5, if you might not play it now, then $5 or less.

There's the best reason ever to pull the trigger.

EDIT: One of the things holding me back is that they have been saying a mac port is coming for a while now. Also the mod tools haven't been released. They were much more on their game with this stuff with TL1. I think it'll be steamplay when they release the port, but kinda hesitant to take the chance.

If you liked the first, you will probably like TL2 even more. There are several improvements to the gameplay, the worlds are more varied, and production quality is improved across the board. But it is more of the same and some of the improvements take away some of the management of potions, etc. if you enjoy that kind of thing.

I pre-ordered a 4-pack in April and finished the campaign co-op with my kid. I have no regrets at full price.

Yeah, you're right... I have XCom, Halo4, AC3, Dishonored, and Dark Souls that I haven't touched right now. I think I'll just wait for the mac port.

Way to disable, sir.

If anyone puts together a Torchlight 2 4-pack, I'm interested in 2 copies.

Hm I'd be your third assuming we have time before the sale goes away. Just picked up high school girls in trouble and wanderlust. If anyone wants to coop wanderlust that sounds real fun.

SteamPlay, buy it once, have it for both! Play it as SOON as it's ported, rather than wait for a sale on a newly released Mac game...

EDIT: Some of what I'm considering:
Choplifter HD
Unstoppable Gorg (though I'm hearing it's terribly hard, so...)
Hero Acadamy (I just can't help thinking this would be better mobile, and no Android version yet)
Anything better on your recommendation

Well, if you don't mind going fairly retro, The Longest Journey is a pretty amazing point and click adventure, and it's $3.99. Of all the games I've ever played, I liked that one the most. Even more than Chrono Trigger.

It was done very early in the 3D transition, so they've got this bizarre hybrid thing going on. It has lush, beautiful 2D backgrounds, and then these really clunky, primitive 3D "actors" layered on top. It will take some effort, but if you can look past the lousy 3D, the voices and story and acting and dialogue are out-of-the-park incredible. (Oh, I have a memory that April Ryan's voice was weak at the very beginning, but she shaped right up. I think her very first lines are a bit cringeworthy.)

It's a very, very long game, with some fiendishly annoying puzzles, so get a walkthrough. There is so very much to see that you won't be cheating yourself. "The Longest Journey" is as much truthful advertising as it is a title.

I...uh...what?

10 minutes to go folks! Get while the gettin's good!

It'll go on sale again, Monkey... you can't add to my pile!

I got TLJ from GOG some time ago. I've started it three different times, but never managed to get through it. I didn't dislike it, just lost interest. But thanks for the recommendation.

A sarcastic thanks to M0nk3yboy for his generous gift of Bad Rats

I've been.... randomly rat rolled.

OH THE HUMANITY

Thank you Bad Ken for Assassin's Creed II! Hehehehe.

And thank you, I think, to Eleima for Bad Rats! Apparently I'm "it" now.

I've having trouble with Steam now, errors occur when I try to buy. It's making buying gift copies of the same game challenging.

edit: Now there are three more copies of DCS: A-10C in the world, or would be as soon as Steam gets more keys for them.

JillSammich wrote:

I tried, but all those people buying Bad Rats in droves gave me a repeating error message at checkout

Sleepy Dogs is now on sale for $4.49! It may be a pricing error, if you're interested, get it while you can.

A similar "pricing error" happened to Saints Row the Third at the end of the last sale. I'm wondering how much to believe it.

But yeah, it looks like time if someone is on the fence.

Steam knows.

Thanks to jonfentyler for Cave Story! Gentleman and a Scholar, you are.
