NCAA Football 2012 Season Catch-All

Well the Pac-12 not doing as hot in the bowls. We're 0-2 against AQ-conference schools, 2-1 against non-AQ. We still have our 3 biggest games to go, but I can't in good conscience root for stanfurd so at best I can hope for is a 4-4 bowl season, with the only AQ wins in the Fiesta Bowl and the Sun Bowl against Ga Tech.

Good games tonight. OT with Rutg-VT ...

I watched the VPI game because I was visiting my folks and my bro-in-law is a Tech grad/fan.

Boy oh boy that was a miserable game. And, no, Logan Thomas is not ready to play on Sundays.

The SEC is 1-0 for bowl season so far! Nice job, Vandy!

Go, LSU!

Man, nobody loses a game like Les Miles. He outsmarts himself again.

Pretty awesome comeback!

If there was any bowl where I wanted to see would be ok with seeing an SEC team lose, it would have been that one. Congrats to Dabo and the Tigers. I love that boy.

Fun game to watch. Man, those QBs have gotta be beat up!

No doubt. I only watched the first quarter, but LSU's O-Line looked nonexistant!

Les Miles gonna Les Miles. I don't know one LSU grad who likes him. Hard to fire since he's won so much, including the natty, but generally good for one or two games lost through sheer craziness.

Still, terrible O-Line play is what stood out to me in the first quarter. I wonder if they knew how weak they were there?

Woot ACC! hehe

He just got a raise. Passing on 2nd and two, then again on 3rd and two? Really?

I hope he stays there forever.

As unlikely as it sounds, right now Georgia - Nebraska is an exciting shoot-out.

Go Dawgs!

Woof!

Dawg D took the first 3 quarters off but finished strong.

Assuming Murray comes back for his senior year the whole offense will basically be back.

"Monster hit" doesn't begin to describe what USC's Jadeveon Clowney did to this Michigan RB.

I feel bad for N.Illinois in this game...refs are not doing them any favors..

There have been a couple of "close" calls...but, so far, the refs haven't had a chance to make a huge impact

The announcers keep talking about pick routes for NIU. And that's how Georgia scored their 80-yard TD earlier. But I thought those were illegal? Offensive Pass Interference?

Glad FSU won! I agreed with the commentators, too many throws on 3rd and short when the FSU line was owning the field.

Gotta be a big night for you, Stele! I will be rooting for the Cards with you.

I wish Louisville was headed to the Big 12, but the ACC should be a nice conference for Louisville, too.

It would be nice to drop the SEC to 3-3, on their way to a losing bowl record, right?

Yeah I'm antsy today. Not going go get anything resembling work done at all. Too busy checking out fan sites and facebook with all kinds of pictures of Cards fans in New Orleans. By all reports we're outnumbering Gators fans anywhere from 3-1 to 5-1. Guess we'll see for sure tonight, but apparently we took over the town for the weekend at least.

The really great omen is the official "collision course" artwork that someone from the Sugar Bowl decided to use.

And of course Louisville's guiding ideal since the mid-80s when we played crappy football in a crappy baseball stadium... from upsetting Alabama in the 91 Fiesta bowl, to a new stadium in 1998, to a BCS conference in 2006, to the Orange Bowl win in 07, to stadium expansion in 2010, and up to today back atop our conference and in the BCS again... it all started with Howard Schnellenberger taking the Louisville job in 1985 and declaring "We're on a collision course with the national championship. The only variable is time."

So for Howard, I hope we win tonight. That would set us up with a top 15 ranking next season, with Teddy Bridgewater as a junior, and at least a chance. In Charlie Strong's press conference yesterday he talked about this being the first game of next season, and he's right.

Go Cards! Beat Florida!

I can't believe I didn't hear about this before, but right before Clowney's amazing hit, the head referee made possibly the worst first-down call in football history. It's easily a call he should be fired over and never officiate again.

Outkick the Coverage's Starting Eleven today has the animated GIF, which includes Steve Spurrier clearly losing his mind. You will lose yours, too.

Yeah, the nose of the football was at least an inch short of the first down marker, and the ref called it a first down. Worst call in football history followed by the greatest hit in football history.

All I have right now is Twitter and ESPN Scorecenter, but it appears that Louisville is handing Florida their asses right now. I heard about the pick six, but now Louisville already has the ball back and is in field goal range? Brutal.

Wow, that guy was totally uncovered. Florida is sucking on both sides of the ball right now.

If Bridgewater leaves for the draft, I would approve of KC taking him first!

Only a sophomore.

Damn!

Nice play at the end of the half by Florida.

Ugh yeah. I was pretty happy with holding them to a FG and then they didn't kick it.

Doesn't Louisvile know it's only polite to use lube?

Huh. 1st onside kick of the year. Think they're scared?

EDIT: Holy sh*t. 2 personal fouls and an ejection? Wow.
