Thanks to demonbox for Atom Zombie Smasher!

Has anyone taken a look at the steam forums over the course of the sale? It's really depressing to look at some threads. I usually stay away from any claims of gamers being 'entitled', but they really make it hard to not want to slap everyone.

Oh no, I avoid those like the plague, because they make my blood pressure skyrocket.

Also: They're the reason we gamers can't have nice things.

And thanks again, Superjars, I feel undeserving of such generosity. This thread just makes me warm and fuzzy.

Oooh, PvZ is on sale!! Anyone who doesn't own it should get it! It's that good, I just bought it again on iOS, and am playing through it again.

There are other gaming forums? but... ::Ravenholm shudder::

Thank you very much, Peedmyself, for the gift of Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble!!! I've been meaning to check that one out!!

And now I have the warm and fuzzy feeling. I've had The Witcher 2 on my list for a while, but hadn't bit on it yet, but thanks to Eleima, I'll have the opportunity to try it out. Thank you so much!

You all are great. This is the first Steam sale where I've worked on keeping up with this thread, and I'm overwhelmed. The generosity is amazing.

Well, I've kept up with other sale threads, but +1 to the rest.

Men of War Assault Squad is up for sale. Highly recommended for a fun, tactical WW2 game.

I have heard it is brutally hard, is that true?

It is challenging and allows the ability to save when you wish to instead of stages. It also comes with different difficulties, easy, medium and hard..There may be another difficulty higher than hard but not sure. It has a lot of depth to it though and with the DLC, plenty skirmish missions. The MP community is also pretty active if that's your thing.

Just got finished driving 14 hours back down to Florida, and there's no way I can read through 185 posts. I'll just say merry gifting and pass out now.

I did have 4 friend requests waiting for me when I opened Steam just now.

The wife's in the shower. I'm going to bed. good night to all.

NO! STEP BACK! You are not allowed to play it until you stream Amnesia :)

Wait, whoa, whoa... he's going to live stream himself playing Amnesia? When is this going to happen? I must watch this.

I will point you to the $2k goal which had been reached

Endless Space and Sins:Rebellion back on sale in the flash deals.

Are these NFS games any good?

Hot pursuit is a blast. One if the more fun racing games I've played since the burnout games.

I remember shift was more decisive. It was an attempt at a more sim type racer. I haven't played it.

Wow, a single game of Civ takes me a lot longer than 6 hours! I do think that G&K has refined what was already a good game. I'm not yet convinced that it trumps Civ4, yet at the same time I can't go back to stacks o' doom.

I think I'm safe for today. Zero spent, which is almost a first during this sale :-S I'm not even going to partake in the usual summary at the end of the sale, I really don't want to know what the total is..

Well, I had my first game blown away by a patch after about 5 hours. Then I got an hour or two into my second game and I got distracted by a bunch of other games.

Thanks, just what I wanted to hear. I loved the old Burnout games, so I might pick up Hot Pursuit and avoid Shift.

I keep getting friend requests from Steam users who I have no connection with (no groups or friends in common), so if I've ignored a friend request from someone in this thread, send me a PM here on GWJ, and another friend request, and I'll accept it. Otherwise, I'm assuming they're scammers.

Also Sins:Trinity, which I need enabling on.

Don't. Rebellion has the best of Trinity.

I've actually been meaning to update my thread on that. It's going to hopefully happen in January but it's all going to depend on how crazy work is. It will happen though.

Ditto on the Civ V "meh". It looked like it could be good and the interface is just fantastic, but I kept wondering where all my fun Civ IV mechanics went.

I haven't finished a G&K game yet, but my overall impression is quite positive. It seems like they fixed most of the stuff that was dumb in vanilla, plus added a bunch of new stuff. Examining the tech tree, it looks like the post-WW2 era should last a fair bit longer. It seems like the religion system is particularly well thought-out.

Again, I can't be sure this soon, but I think this version could be, overall, better than Civ 4. I was really rather disappointed in the base game, and I think I would have been much, much more enthusiastic if G&K had been the version that originally shipped.

I paid $10... I was unwilling to spend $40 for what I saw as an expansion, but $10 seemed fair, and I'm happy with the purchase. I'm slightly annoyed by the fact that it's under $4 less than a week later, but while I lost big in percentage terms, in real money, it's only $6, not exactly a thing to be upset about.

Just bought the Gods & Kings expansion which means I've used up my budget for this sale (and then some, thanks to isthereanydeal.com) so it's time to tally up the damage and start building up the wishlist again:

Steam: Batman Arkham City GoTY, Simcity 4 Deluxe, Portal 2, FTL (Soundtrack edition), Civ V (Gods & Kings) for myself. Gifted Deus Ex HR (I realize I didn't actually have many Goodjer's on my steam list till recently so I went on a friending spree a few days back).

Amazon: LA Noire Complete, King Arthur collection, AC: Brotherhood, AC: Revelations.

Gamersgate: Witcher 2 (and for a few short hours, the Bethseda bundle).

Total damage to the wallet: 60$ excluding gifts (whoa, I've surprised myself by keeping it that low)

Things I want:

- Money
- Power
- Women
- An army of clones to play all of the games on my pile.

I assume your clones would have an experience transfer device so that you could amalgamate all of your awesome gaming time memories. If so [insert image of shut up and take my money].

Thanks go to Cymbrogi for Doom 3 complete. I Always did wonder what this game was like. Guess I get to experience the black corridors and monster closets now.

Yukon Cornelius... um... I mean Rubb Ed sent me a message about my routes never being blocked, some sort of trains and dark tunnels inuendoes I assume along with Ticket to ride.

You're the best Big Cuddly Bear ever!

What's this, an hour and a half and no posting? America must be sleeping

I just made the stupid mistake of totaling all this up, and I nearly fell off my chair.

It seems I not only broke my budgeted allocation of one $25 steam wallet refill once, but three more times after that. It would appear I have spent over $100 on you good people, and you know what? I am completely fine with that.

I picked up a little over a handfull of indie titles for myself, the only real splurge was the WarHammer collection of EVERYTHING for $10, but who could really say no to that, right?

I've gifted almost 25 of you, but in a remarkable testament to the collective, I've actually received 23 gifts as well and added a bunch more of you to my friends list. This is, by far and away, the best place in the universe... I here by solemnly swear to make a new Steam category called Summer Gifts, and they shall ALL clock in time over the following year, guaranteed.

And now, just to keep it all neat, another thank you to all who have brightened the end of this year for me in spectacular fashion:
The Counselor, Garden Ninja, Sally Nasty, Aristophan, Eliema, Eldon of Azure, Cragmyre, Duckilama, Mortalgroove, FeralMonkey, Mr GT Chris, BadKenBad, cptdomano, Ahrezmendhi, Jarpy, Growat, Cobble75, JillSammich, Bonus_Eruptus, psoplayer, tuffalobuffalo.

Spoiler:

Let's see if I can sneak another recharge past the wifey before all these fun and games are over eh?

Frozen Synapse and its DLC are 80% off on an unlisted flash sale right now. Not sure why it's unlisted, but I am sure that it's a great game!

America may be asleep, but my son sure isn't, that's why I hadn't posted yet.

I'm with you, M0nk3yb0y, I'm going to add a special category to my backlog, the "gifts - get around to 'em sooner rather than later" pile.

Many thanks to Growat for Dangerous Girls who are looking for trouble or in trouble or......well sounds like a great game!

This is what I have done, I'm prioritising gifts over old pile games since they'll still be there waiting for me and I rarely have as much uninterrupted gaming time as I do at the moment.
