NFL 2012 Week 17 Thread

Come on Lions! Wake up!!!

Looks like the Titans game is tied, the Texans are losing and the Bears are winning 7-3 when I made the picks. Ugh.

There are a whole lot of people that rely on Recent Posts around here. Not updating last week's thread with a link is almost like not starting a new thread at all. ;)

I'm sure Legion can offer you a full refund.

GMen and Beagles: Ugly game is ugly.

Texans, doing their best to not win.

Oh Jacksonville.

Four touchdown passes for Chad Henne... two to each team.

This Tampa-Atlanta game is so far a pretty good microcosm of the Bucs' season. Freeman sets the Bucs' career/season TD records on a nice pass early, throws a terrible pick that leads to a Falcons TD, has a phenomenal run by Doug Martin, and all we need now is a late collapse and this game can just be the 2012 season DVD.

I'm having trouble deciding whether DeAngelo Williams is that good or if the Saints D is that bad. Except for the Vilma pick-6, I'm leaning toward "the Saints D is that bad."

Lions!!!!!!

And Doug Martin with a game-icing late run. I said the Bucs would be 8-8, they went 7-9 with one of the worst secondaries I've ever seen plus season-ending injuries to the most important members of their offensive and defensive lines.

Nothing like a meaningless late-season victory to already start stoking the fires of hope for next year.

No more Giants football

Wow - Titans actually came to play!

Eagles, though...wow. They just quit. I feel bad for Reid, I like the guy and think he's a good coach. Fare thee well, Andy!

Ugh, very frustrating to have them blow out teams and then on the other hand be so inconsistent. They can only blame themselves

I hear that. I figured the Panthers would be somewhere between 8-8 and 10-6; they missed the lower end of that prediction by one game, thanks to a 5-1 stretch run.

So who got second in the division? Carolina swept the Saints but coughed up a couple of hairballs against your Bucs.

Can I just say again what I've been saying for 6 weeks now?

Fire David Akers.

He has tied and now taken solo possession of most FG misses this season during today's game.

Looks like they all have the same division record, but Carolina and the Saints both trump Tampa Bay on conference record. Between those two, the Saints win out due to points differential.

Carolina was 2-0 vs. the Saints who were 2-0 vs. the Bucs who were 2-0 vs. Carolina . . .

So, yeah, Tampa gets a 4th place schedule next year. I'll take that.

Damn, Adrian Peterson 64 yards away from the record. One break away run at this point would do it.

The officiating in the Packers-Vikings game is really bad. Bordering on replacement official bad.

Broncos take the AFC first seed. Looks like I'll be at some playoff games this year.

McCarthy throwing that flag is the most hilarious thing to happen since the Seattle field goal block last week.

9 yards..ugh

Hell of a performance.

And they're in the playoffs.

Sorry Chicago.

49ers get a bye week and home field instead of having to go to Green Bay. Whew.

Playoffs are looking rather interesting. NFC next week I'm taking the Seahawks (no matter who they play) and the Packers. AFC we'll say Indy and Houston.

Somewhat stunned the Vikings managed to beat the Packers, but then it occurs to me that the Vikings winning and getting into the playoffs means their fans can be utterly crushed next week at Green Bay. I tend to believe the Football Gods hate the Vikings and their fans, and allowing them into the playoffs is clearly the most painful of all possible options.

So it looks like Sheared and I are still tied for first to end the season. Do we carry on through the playoffs here?

Romo! He's baaaaaack.

Blargh... like I said before if the packers didn't finish out the season with a win I won't be expecting much come the playoffs.

Romo! Again!

Can we convert it to points though?
