A Membership option (subscription) will be available for the base rolling rate of $15/€15 a month (bulk buy concessions exist).

Why subscribe? To get a Time Accelerator that doubles experienced gained for an hour and can be used every 16 hours; to get $10/€10 worth of Bonus Points to spend at the in-game Item Store each month; to get a mystery gift on the first patch day of each month; and to get a 10 per cent discount on all Item Store content.

Grand Master Lifetime members get all that plus an increased 20 per cent discount at the Item Store.

I thought there was no more monthly fee anymore. What's the benifits of subscribing, and what is the cost?

I know it was already answered a bit, but here is the source: http://forums.thesecretworld.com/showthread.php?t=62789

ok ok, thanks for the info

I'll look into that.

Read on the steam forum some horror story about buying points. Anyone had a trouble with that here?

I have a lifetime sub so I have never attempted to buy points; sorry.

I've bought a couple and the only problem I had was when the bank decided a transaction from Norway was suspicious and froze the transfer. I eventually cleared it up but just switched to a different card anyway.

$15 to get $10 worth of points, plus a mystery gift, a little store discount, and double exp for an hour every 16 hours? I've been playing nearly every day, so this is a no brainer.

Quick question - is there a demo or a trial code someone would be gracious enough to send me? I'm very interested in giving the game a try but my MMO policy since Star Trek Online is to never buy an MMO I haven't test drove.

They periodically have free trial weekends with special prizes for fulfilling certain goals, but I don't think there is a standing free trial.

For what it's worth, the game is 25% off on Steam through next week.

They have 24 hour buddy keys, not much of a trial but if it's a day off you could certainly explore the basic themes of the game in that time frame. I have 5 of these, PM me your email and I'll send one along.

Guess I could request a key or access, but I'm waiting to see if the 25% discount on steam will go lower...

But do we need commitment in that game? When I play, I normally get like 1 hour of gaming at a time.

That would be awesome Krev82. PM sent.

Someone who has gotten further than I can probably answer this better, I have no idea if the raids end up being the "you must be here thursday night from 7pm-10pm est" type stuff that crops up in other mmos or not. Likewise I have no idea how long the middle and upper end missions tend to take. The stuff I've played you could certainly reach a checkpoint of sorts within an hour but I never made it far enough to feel comfortable assuring you that this remains the case.

Pm sent, asking a buddy key. Let see if I could like this game.

I never made it to the super end game but I think you can have plenty of fun an hour at a time just exploring and doing missions. The "dungeons" can be done in an hour or two depending on the group (some may be longer). For reference, i was doing dungeons in Transyvania and some of the hard mode dungeons.

My biggest hint would be to get Level 10 weps really fast, no matter where you are playing, even if it is just the second zone. It definitely helps out!

Yeah, I've completed the main storyline (what there is so far) and there is very little that you can't do in hour or so chunks. Most missions have "tiers" so as soon as you finish one you can go do something else. The only problems I could see would be instances (where quitting inside the instance forces you to start over again outside from the beginning) or the fact that everything you've already killed would have respawned and you'll have to kill them again to get back to where you were when you quit.

Unless you play a few hours, a one day trial won't really give you the feel for the combat variety. Just a thought.

True. Remember, it's a 24-hour real-time trial, not 24 game hours.

I play in 1 or 2 hour bursts since the game came out. I am still not close to the end of the main plot and am having a great time with it.

Not asking for spoilers of course but is the main ending worth the trip? I'm only asking as I went back and played through the Republic side in SWTOR. Just finished the trooper story and felt it was pretty anti-climatic, especially considering Bioware's track record. If I'm going through another story MMO I want to have a stellar pay-off.

Ok, I have setup the buddy access..

Received an email, complete 30 quests in the trial (24 hours), and received 1200 pts.

Nice. Played 3-4 hours now, completed almost 20. This is a blessing in disguise..

The story as it is right now is incomplete. There are 4 "chapters" of the main storyline currently in-game: The Tokyo Flashback (the tutorial mission), Dawning of an Endless Night (Solomon Island), Black Sun, Red Sand (Egypt) and Mortal Sins (Transylvania). There is an ending after Mortal Sins but not a resolution.

The devs have said that the new Tokyo zone scheduled for April or May 2013 will have the next story mission but also are comparing it to an end-of-season cliffhanger.

In some ways the ending of Mortal Sins was the most satisfying in that the endings of Dawning... and Black Sun... both have a feel of "We're sorry, but the princess is in another castle" (which isn't right but I can't say more without dipping into spoiler territory).

That said, this is still the most story-heavy MMO I've seen. There are a lot of quests with stories attached to them and a lot of them are pretty good. I like the main story, but it isn't complete yet.

Well, after a few hours of play have convince me of two things.

1- this is a nice MMO;

2- since it's too similar in previous MMO I tend to get addicted to, I will concentrate myself I little more in GW2...

I'll play, but not now. So I think I can wait for a bigger discount on a next sale.

Thanks for the buddy key. And thanks to tans to showed me a bit around.

I've been playing since the 25th and have just been tooling around Kingsmouth for fun. I've powered out 96SP and 4 starter decks. And I'm loving the game. Is there a goodjer cabal?

You filled up four decks going through Kingsmouth alone? Impressive!

Here's the thread for Goodjer roster and cabals.

I'm rolling around Kingsmouth as well. I totally missed the boat on decks though, and am currently doing Blade & Assault Rifle as a Templar. I've about exhausted the main town area, and will probably start widening my exploration soon. I generally play solo, but if anyone else is in Kingsmouth and wants to group up, track me down.

I plowed in about 15 more APs (SPs?!) today for a grand total above 110... Friend me up -- I'm "Sangwyn" in game.

The game is currently $17.99 at Amazon (download). If you got one of the game credits from them for buying something earlier this season you can get another $5 off that.

Worth every penny!

Yep. The combat is pretty similar to Age of Conan, and I'm having a lot of fun with the story and different mission types. Like the research missions you can't just follow arrows to the end. Definitely worth $20.

I really gotta get back to playing this. Stupid "pile" has drowned me in other electronic gaming goodness

Is there a "best" solo build? I am playing blades/claw and I think I'm doing good so far but miss ranged stuff. Or at a later level can I basically choose whatever weapons I want?
