Vancouver S&T: Amoebic's place - Sips o' rum for me hearties!

Clover and Edwin will be in Vancouver Sunday to Tuesday!

I was thinking of inviting them over Sunday (Starting at noon - FOR BOARDGAMES!) and the Vancouver GWJ contingent is welcome! I know it's last minute, so I hope you folks see this in time. There's some excellent food options in the area, as well as a retro video game store down the street and a boardgaming store a few blocks away.

Things to know:

  • I live in New Westminster, about a 7 minute walk from the Columbia Skytrain. I can come pick you up from the station though if you call me; I'll have a car this weekend. I get not wanting to hoof it up a steep hill in cold rain.
  • I have a parrot. Prone to loud noises and wanting all of the attention.
  • Games I have: Shadow Hunters, Sequence, Hive, Ingenious, Chez Geek, Smallworld, Wrath of Ashardalon, Dominion (Base, Intrigue, Seaside), BattleStar Galactica, Citadels, Axis & Allies, Gloom, Robo Rally, Cards Against Humanity, Cash & Guns, Munchkin, and Bananagrams.

So, What do you think? PM me for address and phone info if you don't have it already and are interested in coming over.
Hope to see you folks this weekend! : )

I'm in!

Should I bring snacks? Booze?

I would love to go but have already made plans for tomorrow.

I'm sorry I'll miss seeing you all (and that I will be nearish to Clover holding her crafty gift hostage instead of getting to hand it over in person)

Play lots of games for me!

We're down with hanging out in town on Monday also. Our plans are that we have no real plans, except finding tasty things to eat.

Things to know: I will attempt to be social and not just play with the parrot the whole time

You are a better person than me - I would play with parrot and teach it to rickroll Amoebic.

Excellent! If anyone wants to bring food/drinks you're welcome to. I might have a few snacks about. Keep in mind that it's a work night for me so I'll likely shut things down about 15 mins before the last train back to Vancouver.

That being said, folks are welcome to show up anytime to start gaming! Noon is a very loose start time, if that works. If we want to chip in and go do lunch stuff I'd be happy to tell you what's in the area and we can order take out to bring back to the apt to get our game on! Or go out. Or what ever! I'm flexible.

I won't be able to make it, but wanted to say I hope everyone has a great time. Meeting Edwin and clover at PAX 2011 was a real pleasure, so here's to a good time in Vancouver and at Amoebic's. Should nerd acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind...

Oh man, if this was Vancouver, WA, I would so try and make it. I hope you all have fun!

I keep meaning to come to a gwj event. I am busy with family stuff. Have fun and maybe next time I will be able to make it.

p.s cards against humanity awesome.

We won't have phone or network service (at least I won't, maybe clover) but you can still reach us by voice or text at (305) 809-NERD or (305) 981-6633 since we can check those whenever we get wifi.

We get in tomorrow at 2 PM and need to check in to the hotel, get some chow and head over to Aerobics's place. A decent estimate will be around 4 PM give or take.

Deadmonkays and I ran out to grab a late lunch, so @Amoebic me on twitter if you're on the way, we'll be in the neighborhood. I think I sent everyone my cell so call me and I can swing by to pick you up in mah truck

Aw man... I should be starting my new job in Vancouver on the 21st of January. Maybe we can do something after that...

An awesome time was had.

Eyepatches. Plastic sabre-toothpicks. Hook-hands that don't quite fit.

Don't forget that EVERYONE PRESENT had a black double breasted peacoat. wtf? SHENANIGANS.
There were far too few pieces of photo evidence.

Oh damn, I should have come then, had I known it was a black double-breasted peacoat convention.

I just got back from vising family and I'm beat. Didn't have enough energy left. Sad I missed this

Argh, just noticed this now. Just as well--my peacoat is grey.
