Guild Wars 2 Catch All

Unopened giant wintersday presents are selling for around 1.5 silver right now, so I farmed the jumping puzzle for a few hours and made over 3 gold. I like the jumping puzzle this time around though, so ymmv. There's nothing to trade sweaters and the like in for that I wanted, since all the recipes are being sold for under 2 silver each.

ya same here, just been selling all the holiday stuff i get... making lots of gold, it's a great season to be greedy!

I'm up to around 100 socks now. Seeing if I can hit 150 and get the Princess wand skin for my main Mesmer.
Other than that it kinda feels, underwhelming. The Halloween event had bigger bags and the like for exchange. But here its just silly skins and recipes that could already be traded for.

You can probably buy the skin off the trading post for less than you could sell the socks for on it. There are some nice things that you can get from the presents, but the drop rates are really, really low.

Also, the main difference between the box sizes is NOT drop rate for skins and such... it is which crafting material level drops from them.

I ended up just spending like 10 silver on the remaining socks I needed for my ele's princess wand - you can buy the stuff for pretty cheap, and I'll be out of town for a week so won't really be around to collect more. Check the trading post - I think socks were running at 20c/ea or something.

You can also just buy the skins on the TP.
May or may not be more cost-effective.
Right now, GW2Spidy is showing at just under 20s.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the number of people that dyed their clothes for the holiday. As for the jumping puzzle, I get so close, but so far no success. My closest was right at the giant present. I fell whilst climbing the stack of presents to the exit I do best when I start at the gingerbreads.

I like it. The events themselves have been fun: the jumping puzzle is actually enjoyable this time around, snowball fight is entertaining and I like Tixx's workshop instances. I'm glad they will have all the workshops available for awhile at the end of the event to give everyone a chance to run through them. I also kinda like that all the rewards are pretty trivial stuff; it's fun holiday themed things that aren't a big deal if you can't be on to play over the holidays, but fun enough to keep me in. I mostly just want my griffon plushy!

I think they wanted to avoid any more gnashing of of teeth over very rare skins. The ghastly grinning shield is almost up to 100 gold for instance. For those not interested in minis, you van also use the frame and other instance ingredients to make an endless tonic that transforms you into the various toys.

The toypocalypse achievement for lasting 10 rounds without losing any of the gift beast is one that is going in the books undone for me. Eff that stupid thing.

Dev's have stated that it will change to only needing to keep at least 1 alive for the 10 rounds.

Thats a relief... however it still takes waaaaaaaay too long to get to 10 rounds and for no real reward and the fun running out quickly I still probably wont do it.

You only need 10 of 12 achievements for the title, and 2 of those are on the monthly page, so you don't see them on the seasonal page. FYI.

So I've been pretty busy this week but was wondering if there are still fun events to do tonight and Sunday. Also, can you do toypocalypse without being level 80? I've had a heck of a time getting fractal groups because everyone wants level 80s only.

All the Wintersday events run through the new year and auto level you to 80.

Being 80 won't matter for Toypocalypse particularly, as your normal skills are replaces with 1 of 3 items you can pick up, and most of the strategy comes from finding and positioning siege equipment. It's essentially a tower defense minigame.

For those not interested in the minipets, the items you can sell (stuffing/glue) are going for 2g50 a stack. Not a bad reward for a 20 minute instance..

DuckiDeva and I are going to try to run our son through the Divinity's Reach version of Tixx today. He *really* wants a pet gryphon.

So if there are any GWjers that wouldn't mind helping out, we'll be on when he's done with his chores.

They can also be used for a chance to get an endless tonic that transforms you into one of the minipets, the Mystic Forge recipes takes 50 each of the stuffing/glue, a frame and 1 dust (not sure of the tier). The transformation is pretty neat and comes with their own sound effects and emotes. The recipe doesn't consume the frame unless you are successful, and seems to have about a 10 percent chance.

YUp, got my endless princess tonic a few days ago. It's pretty cool.

I got an endless golem tonic on my first try. Then I failed at several attempts to get the plush griffin tonic. I had to stop trying when I realized how much I was spending at the trading co after I ran out of the stuffing and glue I had on hand.

Last minute travel plans will keep me away from GW2 for several days. I picked up the book Guild Wars: Ghosts of Ascalon on kindle to read on the long ride there and back, but it's not quite the same.

Thanks to those that helped and those that offered to help. My little DuckiDude got his gryphon this afternoon, then he and DuckiDeva spent several minutes watching it be cute and I had to listen to them awwing and squeeing. Thanks a lot guys!

Well, this holiday taught me one thing....I suck at PvP I managed to hit the gift carrier once, killed a few players, but mostly it was everyone against me - LOL - or at least it felt like that.

I play on a different server than you guys ( Divinity's Reach ), mostly solo, but once or twice a week with a couple of friends. Still having a ton of fun, just wish I could do dungeons once in a while.

(removed post) nevermind

Why not just get your friends to move servers with ya?

Oh, I thought it cost money to change servers. I'll mention it to them. We have a small guild, but I believe you can belong to more than one guild, is that correct? I could scroll up and look, but what server are you guys on again?

We're on the mighty Northern Shiverpeaks.

Yes you can be part of multiple guilds, and you can also be part of the GWJ guild without changing servers. You would still get to use chat and party up with us for dungeons, the only downside is you don't generate influence for the guild and you don't get any of the guild buffs.

Server transfers are still currently free though

Cool! I'll mention it to my buddy and my nephew Thanks!

You can belong to lots of guilds. You can only "Represent" one at a time, switching is at will.

I'm in GWJers, and a personal one for myself(for guildbank), a personal one for my wife(working on guild bank) and will like join a personal one for my son(to get the guildbank).

Edit: Some folks join different guilds for different things - one for social stuff, one for WvW, one for PvP, one for Dungeons, one for real-life friends. It's easy and painless. And if you log in representing your personal guild and noone else is on and representing, when you GuildChat and say hi, you get a chat message that "Nobody hears you."

Come on over!
