Pick 'Ems

49ers at Seahawks: In terms of points scored vs yielded, these are the top two teams of the NFC. The 49ers hold a 1.5 game lead on Seattle in the division, making this a must-win for Seattle if they are to take the division title. And if they lose, they'll likely lose the 1 game lead they hold on a pack of other wildcard hopefuls. It can't get much more must-win for the Seahawks than this. Still, I roll with the 49ers, who I have become convinced are the best team in the NFC. (Seattle may very well be the 2nd).

Bengals at Steelers: The AFC North's #2 and #3 team battle each other to keep their playoff hopes afloat. Cincinnati is closing in on a Ravens team that is dropping like a stone, while the Steelers are on a 2-game losing streak that they must break to stay in the playoff chase. I think the stars are aligning for Cincinnati, who should wrest control of this division away from the Ravens in these final 2 weeks. Bengals.

Giants at Ravens: Two teams both in grave danger of losing control of their divisions. The Giants have already slid into a 3-way tie for the NFC East, while the Ravens maintain a slim 1 game lead on the surging Bengals. Desperate times all around. I expect the Giants to get themselves back into the picture, as Baltimore has not shown any offensive capability lately. (Well done with your big debut last week, Caldwell).

Saints at Cowboys: On the strength of a 3-game winning streak, Dallas finds themselves in that 3-way tie for the NFC East lead. New Orleans has crawled to 6-8 and is chasing a mathematical playoff chance as an 8-8 wildcard team. Not a likely scenario, but they are playing like it is. It feels dirty to make this pick, but the Cowboys are playing like a capable team right now. I'm picking them to keep the NFC East a muddled mess into the last week.

And for the wildcard:
Bills at Dolphins: The battle for the bottom of the AFC East. Miami is aware they are in rebuilding mode, so it's fairly low-drama there, but every year Buffalo sucks is another year of panic for Ralph Wilson. Chan Gailey is on shaky ground, and losing this week to an offensively-challenged Dolphins team will make that ground shakier.

49ers at Seahawks: Kaepernick is due for a dud one of these days, and in Seattle seems a logical time for it.

Bengals at Steelers: I really should start believing in the Bengals one of these years. Right? I mean, theoretically.

Giants at Ravens: I think I'll take Eli Manning in a slump over Joe Flacco . . . can we still call this a slump?

Saints at Cowboys: The Cowboys have to win so they lose next week; it's their job to crush their fans utterly late in the season. They're traditionally good at it.

Bills at Dolphins: I find it difficult to care enough about this game for even the vaguest snark.

Just copied xeknos. This looks right to me. Main question is the Giants, which ones will show up? Also I think the Cowboys will keep hope alive one more week, then collapse.

And the Seahawks ain't scoring 50 on my Niners. Colin Kaepernick show keeps rolling. Book it.

Perhaps we'll finally see some separation between me and Legion this week.

49ers at Seahawks: I'm picking the team that shut down the top offense in the league for half a game. Perhaps they should make better half time adjustments, but I'm still going with the 49ers.

Bengals at Steelers: AJ Green. Bengals.

Giants at Ravens: The Giants are in a funk, but the Ravens are broken on D. Giants.

Saints at Cowboys: I'm as shocked as anyone that Romo is playing some of his best ball this late in the season. Cowboys.

Bills at Dolphins: The only way this pick em could have been less interesting is if the Jaguars were involved. Dolphins.

49ers at Seahawks - I really want the Seahawks to win this one and prove to the league that they are legit because everyone knows the 49ers are legit after that Patriots win.
Bengals at Steelers - I have no idea about this Steelers team but the Bengals are a decent team.
Giants at Ravens - Is Flacco good or not? Are the Giants playing possum?
Saints at Cowboys - I want the Cowboys to crush their fans spirits when they barely miss the playoffs in week 17.
Bills at Dolphins - Woof.

I missed a few weeks and have been completely disconnected from the NFL this year, so it wouldn't much matter to me.

Killed you in FF playoffs though, so my year has already been made.

49ers at Seahawks: Seattle home field advantage and a better playing QB at this time.

Bengals at Steelers: An angry Steelers team scares me more than an angry Bengals team.

Giants at Ravens: Giants play well when up against the wall. If their front 4 dominate, they win.

Saints at Cowboys: Cowboys are player more complete football than the Saints.

Bills at Dolphins: Bills are done.

Well, Atl up 14-3 already, halfway through the 2nd.

MNF on Sat night is a little strange, ESPN...

Man I hate Detroit. I can only hope ATL pulls Ryan to save him for the playoffs if they score enough.
