Borderlands 2 Catch-All

The good news is that I got a new pc. The bad news is that I had to. I'll download this again when the DLC goes on sale- then I'll check the state of the save file I have- hopefully it's fairly fresh.

Spoiler:

Promotional running on facebook to earn a Golden key.

So some "Sage" DLC tipped up in the Steam CDR database today...

Not sure if this is the Hammerlock DLC or if it's something else (new character?). Appears to be currently hooked up to the "Early Access" Season Pass which I think is only available to the press.

It is interesting in that in one of the code descriptions is: BL2BIGGAME

As in Hammerlock's "Big Game" Hunter? Or is that how the main game is always described?

Capt. Scarlett is BL2ORCHID, so that's a good point.

Another class would be interesting but I am not sure that there is any hole in the lineup that needs filled. If vehicles played a bigger part in the game then maybe a Wheel-man class but I just don't think they are important enough for that. Might work if their action skill is to actually summon some type of vehicle, but unless it was just something slow and powerful then it might break some areas.

I keep hoping they will up the level cap and/or give me something else to do with my Erdium even if it is just buying more ammo capacity (not sure why so many games think hunting for ammo is fun lately but it bugs me).

Eridium to Torgue Token conversion would rock!

Also, as far as a new class and thinking of Tiny Tina, it would be cool to have a demolitions expert.

I want them to release a Tiny Tina sound pack like they did for ClapTrap and Torgue.

It'd also be nice if you could trade eridium to other people, or maybe use it to upgrade vehicles (handling, boost time, boost efficiency, armor/life, weapon dmg, weapon fire rate, etc).

I was thinking something along those lines, too. Maybe they could set traps as their special ability.

Funny thing I noticed with The Bee: it is applied to vehicle guns as well.

It sure is. It suuuuuure is.

Hammerlock DLC trailer with a release date (January 15, 2013):

Also, more info about the DLC, from Kotaku

What was meant to be your weekend shootout expedition with Hammerlock gets sidetracked by Hyperion's Professor Nakayama. See, he was a huge Handsome Jack supporter, and not too keen on the vault hunter(s) who defeated him. So before you can go hunt this new continent's biggest game, you'll have to stop the latest psychoBorderlands has introduced you to.

Also, a level cap raise should be coming in Q1 2013 as well.

While Gearbox is still exploring whether they want to do it as part of DLC number four or as a separate download, we were assured that it's being developed in such a way that you'll want to play through the entirety of the game again.

Anyone happen to know if they fixed the eyefinity/surround bug yet? I haven't been paying attention to any patch release notes for a few months.

Kotaku just posted a quick preview of Hammerlock DLC, including this gem.

Kotaku Article wrote:

This "rare" creature will only be summoned after you supply various totems across Aegrus with a hefty ton of precious Eridium.

So...now you've got a rare boss creature that will require Eridium to unlock.

Isn't there already a raid boss that you can challenge to a rematch by spending 4 Eridium?

In Captain Scarlett you can run the last quest from the light tower on a second time. No eridium required!

From what I understand, "raising the level cap" is an oversimplification.

Meaning 10, 20 or 50 more levels?

I am betting 10-19 (so they can do the 69 thing again). I hope it has been tracking exp since hitting the level cap. Also they are talking about enabling a 3rd play-through.

Anyone out there on 360 feel like making a run on the raid bosses this weekend? Terramorphous in particular but if you want to go for some of the others that would be cool too. I can host for Terramorphous but I haven't done the DLC in second play-through yet. I will be running a Siren. Currently specced for damage (Reaper baby) but I can respec for healing if need be.

I'm a filthy skimmer, so I don't know if this has been posted yet, but apparently you can get a free code for the Torgue's Campaign of Carnage DLC at http://xfinity.aditive.com/app/40001.... Does require sign-in with Facebook or Twitter. All platforms available, though I believe there are a limited number of codes for each.

The B2 season pass is 30 euros for me on steam, but 25 euros (through british pound conversion) through the UK gamefly.

I'm going to want all the DLC eventually. I finally have time off to play. I've got one guy at level 31 (i think).

Do I want it all now? Enable? Partially-enable? Somebody?

Some preview gameplay footage of SHBGH with one of the producers:

So I picked this up a couple of days ago and enjoying it quite a lot with my friends. I got a bunch of those Golden Keys from Shift codes and I was wondering if I should save them for when I'm at level cap or is that not worth it?

I think Golden Keys work best while making your way to the cap than they do once you reach it. I found that cashing one or two in every five levels or so really let me smooth out some of the tougher spots.

Agreed. When you're capped, you'll be going for legendary items anyway, and you'll be vendoring purples by the bushel.

Use one to grab a better gun once you feel it takes too long to move through the game. Getting a leveled gun, while still hanging on to weapons that are 3 or more levels below yours without a quest in sight that can put you even, will help quite a lot.

Just picked it up on the winter Steam sale and I'm having fun with it. However, parts seem really difficult. Heck, Knuckledragger beat the snot out if me several times before I finally killed him. I found the first BL to be approachable even if you're not a big shooter fan, so I'm a little worried my FPS skills aren't up to the challenge.

Does anyone know if the Mechromancer dlc us worth $10?

It might be if you're really worried about your fps skills not cutting it with the original four characters. The mechromancer has a skill tree that was designed with people who aren't used to or good at FPS games in mind (Best Friends Forever), though it's still a great tree to use even if your skills are fine.

Looking for a group for a 4-pack on this game since it's on a flash sale on Steam right now.
