Picked up Fez, Mark of the Ninja (already have it on PC and love it), and Trine 2. Anyone want to enable me on anything else on today's XBLA sale? Rayman: Origins any good?

Rayman Origins is brilliant. One of the best games of last year.

+1. A friend of mine gifted it to me during the Summer Steam sale, I played it once and then went right out to buy extra PC controllers so my kids could join in. Absolutely fantastic game, beautiful, and just pure fun.

+2

Origins feels like the best straight-up platformer I've played in the last ten years.

Yeah, Origins is great.

Thanks for the recommendations on Rayman:Origins, which was only on sale yesterday.

I'll get it next time, though.

Gamersgate are running a Bethesda Pack for 91% discount. here

You don't get the full discount on each item individually, but that's a stupendous amount of gaming for the money.

In fact, can it be quite believable? Am I misreading that? £18.77 for a pack that contains Dishonored, Skyrim, Brink, Fallout 3, Fallout:NV, RAGE, amongst others? Ooft.

I can see the main gamersgate screen but it looks like there's a ton of traffic. If that's really the discount, everybody who doesn't have Dishonored and Skyrim should jump on it.

UbiSoft is having a sale through their Uplay service, including some of their Uplay rewards at discounted prices or free, so if you play UbiSoft games it might be worth taking a quick look for that.

They're also offering 25% off Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed III, when purchase through Uplay.

Y'know, I've always kind of liked Uplay, I mean, back when it was just DRM that provided free rewards. Flipping through it now? It's kind of gross. It's like one of EA's earlier attempts to clone Steam, and they threw in Miis because that's popular too, right? I've been looking for a good deal on Far Cry 3 but to be honest I'd rather pay the extra $15 to get it on Steam.

If it makes you feel any better... even if you buy Far Cry 3 (or AC3, I believe) through Steam, you still have to click through the UPlay client to actually play the game, even if you launch it from Steam (Steam basically invokes UPlay, from which point you click a "Play" button).

Yeah, I know that it requires Uplay. And again, I don't mind Uplay as a DRM/rewards system... as long as it works within Steam's infrastructure. I don't want to have to mess around with Yet Another Download Service every time I want to download Far Cry 3.

So Im seeing Mass Effect 3 is 50 percent off over at EA Origins. Since EA doesn't really discount their games much, I'm tempted on getting it. Then again, I haven't finished ME 2 yet. Anyone want to enable me?

Oh, go for it. Finish ME2 and then jump right into ME3 with your imported save, I guarantee it'll be one heck of a ride. Don't listen to all the naysayers, and just enjoy it for what it is: the brilliant culmination of a beloved series.

Thank me later. :p

Ohhh, I got Trine 2 as well. Hit me up if you want to try co-op on that.

I've had it for a while but haven't touched it, so...me too.

I think it's worth pointing out that you MUST OWN THE GAME in order to redeem any of the associated Uplay rewards. :/

GMG has Sleeping Dogs for $16.99, but discount code GMG30-DPLIM-DN831 works on it bringing it down to 11.90.
Furthermore, they are offering $4 cash back or $6 GMG credit, making the deal even better.

Man, they're really aiming at my wishlist for the early stages of the sale period on these sites. I'm gonna run out of things to buy soon!

I'm pretty much a huge cheerleader at this point, but Unity of Command is 50% off right now, $9.99. Looks like Steam has it at that price as well, but I believe if you buy straight from 2X2 you get a Steam code anyway.

Hmm. It's on my wish list on Steam, but I didn't get notified of the price drop. I suppose it's definitely worth buying at $10.

Got a Groupon e-mail for Assasin's Creed III, 21 bucks off and free shipping.

Deal is good until X-mas Eve.

For people new to groupon, I have a referral link, it gets me some groupon bucks. Click it, register, buy ACIII.

Thanks. Realized recently I was coming up to my re-up date, and now I'm not getting socked for $60.

So tempting, but man oh man, I'm actually grossed out at the number of unplayed games I have. This seems like it is about as approachable as a wargame gets for someone like me, who likes the idea of strategy games.. but sucks terribly at them.

Woo, thanks! Now I can finally become a productive member of the unwashed console masses. Or at least I can join the GWJ Forza 4 car club now.

ATTN: Calling all Sportsfriends!

The JS Joust alpha went out for $30 backers last night. In preparation for holiday family hijinx I went out to the local gamestop to see what the situation was with used move controllers. As it turned out they were offering buy-one-get-one-free for preowned move controllers and had plenty in stock. A power-up card membership saves another 10% on preowned stuff, so I ended up with 4 more move controllers for under $60.

I should also mention that I won't be using my Alpha copy of Johan Sebastian Joust. If anyone wants it for free, feel free to PM me.

EDIT: JSJ requires a mac and playstation move controllers.

To me you're saying two different things, really. Wargames are a subset of strategy games, but saying you suck at strategy games in general doesn't mean you'll suck at wargames or tbs or X game, etc. MIn my experience, most people think they suck at strategy games because they stink at real time strategy games. Turn based is a whole different beast.

Anyway, I don't know what you've played or what you're interested in, but UoC is definitely the best wargame to play for newcomers this side of Panzer General. I prefer UoC overall because it does have more depth while retaining the simplicity in UI. Buy now, or don't, but don't forget about Unity of Command as it should totally be tried ... or be a part of your pile.

Don't do it! (Yet!) Steam will have it at 50% off until January 5, but it might show up as a Flash Sale or Daily Deal—i.e. more than 50% off—before then. And then if it doesn't, just buy it on Jan. 5.

That's what I plan to do.

There's an awesome deal on 3DS stuff at Best Buy Canada right now. If you buy a system (regular or XL), you immediately get $20 off. If you buy online, you get an additional $30 off immediately and if you reserve in-stire, you get a $30 gift card that sadly, I discovered you cannot use against the purchase of the system. I don't use my 3DS much cause it's just too small for my massive hands so I bought an XL and between the deal, $25 in Reward Zone coupons I have and selling my old 3DS for $100 on Kijiji within 45 minutes, I got the upgrade for about $40 and get $30 to probably put towards Paper Mario Sticker Star another time. If you've been waiting on a 3DS and are a canuck, this is a great deal. The XL upgrade was 100% worth it! It's soooooo much more comfortable. I can't wait to dig into my 3DS backlog.

I exerted my willpower and resisted buying a 3DS XL for $160 today, PXA. You're not helping me feel good about that decision
