Video Game Deals Catch-All

Possibly of interest, Amazon has a Tantalizing THQ Medley with:

1. Homefront
2. Metro 2033
3. Red Faction Armageddon
4. Red Faction Guerrilla
5. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
6. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

All for $7.49 (PC Download). Plus you get a $5 credit for certain games come January.

I'm tempted but can't figure out if you get codes for the games or not; I already own half of them.

All of them except RFG and STALKER SoC definitely activate on Steam. The individual pages for those two don't say that the Steam client is required, so they may be non-Steam versions.

I still have a copy of Warhammer: Dawn of War available if anyone's interested. In the spirit of the holidays, I'll even throw it out to a Coffee Grinder if they get there first.

Went for it since $2.50 for the 3 I don't already own is too good to beat. All 6 do indeed come with codes.

Syndicate for $5 on Amazon. Should work with Origin, and it gets you the $5 promo credit for January. Wasn't the multi-player somewhat well received?

Ok, I know I'm LTTP with Fez... But damn, that game really f*cks with my head. Wow.

Really enjoyed Fez - at $5, it's a fantastic buy.

Holy moley -- GOG just added all expansions for Wing Commander 1 + 2, Wing Commander Privateer, and (wait for it) Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri to the base games for free! Full details in their announcement. This is excellent, excellent news. Thanks GOG -- you rule!

Also: All games mentioned above are 50% off at the moment.

No such thing as really finishing it.

Yeah, I need to get back to Fez too. I have to find my Fez notebook first though.

Picked up Fez, Mark of the Ninja (already have it on PC and love it), and Trine 2. Anyone want to enable me on anything else on today's XBLA sale? Rayman: Origins any good?

This is how I read this in my mind.
Never played Wing Thingamajig. SMAC+AC? Oh yeah!

Just giving another thumbs up for FEZ.

I jumped the gun and bought it last week, right after watching Indie Game: The Movie.

Wing Thingamajig is one of the best gaming experiences of all time.

Now I have a funny image of a Magic Carpet-type game, except with a winged phallus. Someone probably already made a flash game of that when I wasn't looking.

Maybe I should ease up on the caffeine.
Or increase the vodka.

Wing. Thingamajig.

Wingamajig.

Say it aloud.

Bought Mark of the Ninja for XXXBLA

WHAT did you call it?!?!?!

Yes, this, get it, duckilama, and erase this mark of shame you have given yourself. Heathen.

Dragon's Dogma is $29.99 on Amazon right now, both platforms. Very tempted, but pile is so large and Steam sale is on...

Is it like Elite?

Nah, Wing Thingamajig (awesome name, btw) is more like Tie Fighter/X-Wing/Freespace in that it's the standard space sim formula of set missions one after another. Wing Commander is different in that if you fail a mission the campaign continues. So if you fail to protect that transport and it's destroyed, the game still moves on with that transport being destroyed. Fail enough missions and you'll fail the whole campaign.

I loooooooved Wing Thingamajig! I was a bit young when it first came out so picked up about a year or two ago and went through the whole series. Totally pick it up if you get the opportunity and are a fan of space sims!

Unless you mean Wing Thingamajig Privatesomethingorother.
In which case it is Eliteish in that you start in a ship on a base and can shape your career from there. You might stumble across the story missions or you can ignore them for weeks and weeks as you collect enough bibs and bobs to outfit your ship with all the top level goodies.

Hitman Absolution is £10.50 at GMG using 30% discount code GMG30-DPLIM-DN831 + either £3.00 cashback or £5.00 GMG credit.

SORRY ... just been told that the extra 30% off no longer works.

Rayman Origins is brilliant. One of the best games of last year.
