I am not sure I get what is so amazing about that tower. Maybe I had a decent enough science education that something like that doesn't blow my mind.
I don't think you have to be a Cowboys fan to appreciate the cheerleaders. My buddy took this video when he went to a game recently.
What happens when you hit the wall vid
OK, now I know I'm a horrible person for expecting (wanting) to see the driver endo over the screen...
And now for something completely different.

Not exactly - but old video of a motion platform crash:

Arrrr
Thank you for posting that. It's good to know horse racing takes itself so seriously.

I'd never realized how much racing horse names sounded like forum user names.
ARRRRRRR GH! That was great.
Ooooooo!

Dude, the reporter's last line made me spit-take on my monitor.
I am glad someone else noticed how similar these looked:

Hell, you don't have to be a football fan to appreciate the cheerleaders.
Venetian Snares! A great Winnipeg artist!
This video is several months old, so it may be old news to some, but I just stumbled on it tonight and it made me laugh:
Only thing I can see that prevents it is magnetic degradation over a long, long time.
Well it's not a perpetual motion machine, since the magnets will become weaker over time. And free energy for everyone? Not unless that ball starts speeding up. Right now there's just enough energy in the system to keep the ball moving at a constant* velocity. Start taking energy out of the system to power other devices, and that ball is going to slow down. It's a clever device, and a very efficient machine, but the claims in that video are pretty overblown.
*More likely, the ball is actually decelerating but so slowly that it was not noticeable over the observation period.
No. Even without following the link or watching the video: no.
I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Ugh. That's almost intentionally misleading, especially with all the sensationalist crap and the "science" with the physics guy. Is this how science is viewed in pop culture?

yes
What that video really well pointed out is that art is oogaba.
This seemed especially relevant after reading that article about the Far Cry 3 writer.
Sad off with Samuel Jackson and Anne Hathaway - very funny
