Official Team Fortress 2 Game Nights (PC)

I think after 1,200+ hours of actually playing TF2 (no idling) and after opening dozens of crates Vavle should just give me a damn unusual hat. Grumble grumble...

No medic hat?

It's from the 2011 Saxxys. I had a finalist in that.

You and me both, brother.

I think I have figured out a way to get ukick to play medic more. It involves sticky jumping and the quick fix. More news on this disturbing development as it breaks

You noticed it too? I thought it was a fluke.

The guy who's always following you around and you keep sacrificing to get a couple of kills

But if you are ever feeling suicidal, ukick is your man.

I finally got the Faerie Solitaire misc. item. I was getting really worried about that.

I vote 4. But I may have just been changing my weapon at the time.

It all depends on the situation. I usually don't protect a medic on the extremes of play (if I'm just screwing around, or if the teams are incredibly lopsided). If I'm just screwing around, which is at least half the time, I usually warn the medic in advance that he likely won't survive if he follows me. If I am on a team full of mostly pubbies in which we have a slim chance of winning and I think that killing a couple extra people on the other team is worth losing the medic because if I die trying to save the medic and then all he has to heal is the 2nd and 3rd snipers, my death was pointless. Otherwise, if I'm trying and teams aren't incredibly stacked, I'll protect the medic.

A good rule of thumb with me is, if I'm not a heavy, expect to die, but you will either get a lot of assists or be a part of some epic uber pannings before you do.

Part of being a good medic is quickly assessing your patient's ability/desire to keep you alive. There are many types of patients:
1. People who will sacrifice themselves so that you live and are aware of your situation at all times.
2. People who try to keep you alive but aren't very good at it (can be due to the class they pick).
3. People who are slow to react when you are attacked but generally try to keep you alive and are decent at it.
4. People who just don't care if you live or die because they are self absorbed jerk-bags.

ukick is all of them at one time or another.

I don't recall pyros having any gear in the 4 slot... is this the secret in your special sauce?!

Also, I know all of the veterans have seen this discussion-relevant comic from... holy hell, 2007, really?... but just in case any of our newer players missed it:

On a pub server I'll gladly take ukick stage 4 over any other pubbies out there. I don't truly think ukick is a self-absorbed jerk-bag unless he is on the other team.

I have always liked that particular PA comic. Amazing how many people still don't get it, too. I will, though, kill the heavy first if I get the drop on him. The medic is harmless without the heavy and I can usually get both of them. If they are in a group or they get the drop on my I'll take the medic first. A good heavy never wants to hear, "Got your medic."

Sold an item on the market. Worked pretty well but there are extra steps involved for selling multiple items. I am now 48 cents richer.

So, one 48 cent hooker or 48 1 cent hookers?

Just like pubbies, quantity over quality.

Anybody want to shoot robots tonight? I have a magic ticket.

I don't wanna shoot robots, but I have free time this evening and damnit, there'd better be some hatzenmannes online tonight!

Free hattes for dominating fleabagmatt!

Spoiler:

No, not really, I don't have that many hattes.

Woo i'm up to $.58 from the market. Living the dream.

I am on leave right now in Cold Front (Canada). Expect not to see me for the coming two weeks! (for online play that is)

Heading off to Tofino for a few days starting tomorrow. Probably can't play tonight, and definitely not until next Friday at the earliest.

I know opinions will differ on this one, but I thought that round of Granary was epic. Lots of back-and-forth, very evenly matched teams. I think I would have preferred sudden death OT, but it was still a great round.

The Badwater rounds after it were pretty lopsided, but it's always easier being the windshield than the bug. But hey, Badwater. My mic also cut out about halfway through. (I'm not sure if the USB hub in my keyboard is flaking, or my controller, or what, but it's been somewhat unpredictable the last couple weeks.)

Thanks for the good games tonight!

I apparently had exactly the right amount of alcohol in my system for Friday night manne killing.

Five beers it is!
