NFL 2012 Week 15 Thread (Now with Pick 'Ems!)

Pages

Packers at Bears: The battle for the top of the NFC North. Jay Cutler has a sprained MCL but still plans to play. A loss for Chicago means the team suddenly finds themselves sinking into the wild-card pack instead of leading it and pushing for the division. It's a huge must-win at home for Chicago, but this is where the Packers make a statement. Packers.

49ers at Patriots: Billed by some as a Super Bowl preview, two strong contenders for the best teams in their conferences face off in the middle of the playoff race, and on Sunday Night. Colin Kaepernick is trying to pull much the same trick Brady did in his second season, taking over as starter for a contender and pushing them over the top. Cooler heads might pick New England at home, but do you expect me to pick against my man-crush CK, that tattooed pride of San Quentin, the downfall of the "Dutch Boy" quarterback? Not here I don't. 49ers.

Giants at Falcons: Seriously, we're three picks into the five-pack and I am so excited with the matchups. This is an awesome one. Atlanta has racked up unimpressive win after win against mediocre competition, topped off with an unimpressive loss against what was a 3-9 Panthers team. Now they have a home matchup against a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Which of these teams is the real contender against the likes of Green Bay and San Francisco? I'm taking the Falcons.

Broncos at Ravens: And for matchup #4, we get Jim Caldwell! The Ravens sit atop the AFC North, with the Bengals nipping at their heels. Meanwhile, the Broncos have wrapped up the sorry AFC West, but won't be resting as they are in the thick of the hunt for a first round bye. Can Caldwell get Ray Rice rolling? Will they start taking shots down the field to Torrey Smith again? Will Jim Caldwell erase the memory of the stuck-in-mud Cam Cameron offense? I'm taking the home team in an upset - Ravens! Jim, what say you?

And for the wildcard, I'm taking the game at the absolute bottom of NFL.com's ranking list for this week's games:
Chiefs at Raiders: Cripple fight! Raiders.

You tease!

Bah.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...

What a dumb ass... granted its a drop in the bucket with all the other race issues we have in this country..but this moron doesn't help things in the least.

You know, I saw that too and scratched my head. Good for Stephen A Smith for responding the way he did. What an awkward situation.

When Screamin' A is the most reasonable man on your panel, you've got problems. And, yeah, what he said (quoted in PFT) is spot on.

Wow what a racist.

Hey everybody! Bengals! Eagles! Get stoked!

Ah, f*ck it.

ESPN fired Rush Limbaugh for racial comments about Donovan McNabb, and it wasn't half as bad as these comment. For someone to actually question how black someone is? I don't normally agree with anything Stephen A. Smith says that isn't basketball related, but I totally agree with him on this.

I think Dalton's arm JUST started forward, but it is very close.

The fumble stands, I can't argue either way the refs went, it was very close.

Yeah, this is way beyond Limbaugh's "McNabb is overrated because the media wants to see a black QB succeed" comments. Those were lacking in tact (big shock with Limbaugh) but were ultimately a critique on media perception. This is an actual personal attack, tearing into a guy's racial identity.

Spot on.

Apparently we're all silly and uneducated for daring to criticize Rob Parker.

Jeebus, what a tool.

On a related note, I don't think the howler monkeys who populate the PFT comments section have every agreed on anything until this clown opened his mouth.

Just saw Stephen A.'s response. Bravo.

Rob Parker has been suspended. ESPN should further that Parker, since they decided to replay his rant on the Best of First Take later that day, and only decided to do something when getting criticism from people around the country.

In other news: Aaron Rodgers, Professional Photobomber
Here's the photo gallery. Priceless

Kush, your second sentence was ungrammatical.

Packers - They have owned the Bears as of late, even when Cutler is playing.
Patriots - The Pats D stops the run. They have a cover guy now. They have the best offense in football.
Giants - Eli > Ryan.
Broncos - Rice is apparently banged up, and the Broncos D is solid against the run anyway. They are also pretty good against the pass. And pretty good at pass rushing. Oh, and they have Peyton Manning on the other side of the ball.
Chiefs - Raiders are one of two teams I can't pick to win a game ever this year.

Packers at Bears: Please stop picking Bears games. I have to go with them, and they continue to lose.

Also, Legion, I think your counter missed my week 14 picks. I'll take 2-3 over 0-5 :)

Corrected your totals. Welcome to the Certis & *Legion* tier.

Chiefs at Raiders

Wow, I bombed last week. Screw you Cutler. The Bears need an offensive line. Shocking.

Packers at Bears: Packers.

49ers at Patriots: Patriots.

Giants at Falcons: Giants. Eli-te ftw!

Broncos at Ravens: F- it. Why not? Broncos may have motivation issues. Oh wait, Manning usually has the Ravens number. Broncos.

Chiefs at Raiders: Chiefs. I think they have more healthy talent. I think.

Packers-The Bears DEF is hurting, Cutler isn't mobile When he has a healthy ACL. Welcome back, Mr. Jennings.

Patriots- West Coast Team flying East. The Patriots don't lose at home in Dec.

Giants- For the Giants, it's time to warm up the engine for the post season. The Falcons are the best mediocre team in the NFL.

Broncos-The Broncos...too...many...weapons. The Ravens are the 2nd best mediocre team in the NFL.

Raiders- Gotta pick somebody. The battle of who could care less.

I know better in regards to the Chiefs, and they cost me earlier this year when I thought they could at least beat the Raiders at home. But seriously, if I have to pick between two terrible teams, I might as well go with the good guys.
