I'm not a big baseball fan, but I will watch it this time of the year. So I'm looking at the schedule for the night and see that both games are on at 8:00 P.M. tonight. What is the reasoning for this? Are they intentionally trying to cut viewership? It makes no sense. You'd think they would be interested in promoting their sport, not limiting its exposure.
Gotta represent for the left coast, yo. Many people in my neck of the woods aren''t home by 5 but it helps. You don''t want to miss out on viewers because they were at work.
Do you ever walk alone like a drifter in the dark?
It''s even worse than you think. Most major markets will be showing the ALCS (Yankees v. Redsox) at 8, with the NLCS punted over to Fox Sports Net, or whatever they call their cable and satellite division.
So even if you want to see both games, without FSN, you are screwed.
Personally, I''m not much of a baseball fan, but I definitely wanted to see who might be playing the yankees.

I''m not sure what else they could''ve done. I see three choices: They can make it so only one game is played per day giving each series a day off in between games, which isn''t the way the game is played during the regular season and negates a deep pitching staff. You can schedule one of the two games during the day or late at night, which isn''t going to help viewership any either. Or you can do what they did.
schedule the Boston/NY east coast game at 6:00pm, other game at 9:00pm, problem solved. But noooo!
Yeah, this was a big concern last yeat also.
It was a big deal because alot of games started at 9PM EST to get the West coasters in, but all the kids who are the ''next generation'' of baseball fans were in bed!
Pro is five years old. Karmajay has won it thrice, including back-to-back as of today. Does that qualify as a dynasty? -- Grumpicus

I think it was to let East Coast folks watch before midnight or something. I dunno, doesn''t make a lot of sense.
On another note, we already knocked Pedro ""I can kick any 80-year old man''s ass"" Martinez out of the game!
Maybe Zim was on some of those ""vitamins"" that Shefield and Giambi are on when he charged out of the dugout?
If they aren''t going to show them at two completely different times, then they should offset them by about an hour or so, so that, except for extra innings, the last three or so innings of both games are viewable by everyone.
Seriously though, having games end at 11:45pm is absurd. If they want to ensure another generation of baseball fans, they''re not doing a good job.
Kids in NY and Boston are basically screwed out of seeing thier teams play the whole game.
Christ, I had a hard time staying up myself!
