Dexter is creepy!

Caught up last night. Great stuff.

Nice to see the kids again. And holy crap did Deb have a meltdown.

I loved that rather frank conversation between Dex and Isaac.

Those two scenes made up for all boring, bland and trite story guff that rest of the show is full. Especially Deb - while some of the acting in the series is down to soap opera standards (of rehashing the same few expressions/phrases etc. all the time), that was as powerful scene as I can remember in the show.
I just wish they dropped some of the boring parts.

(Man partial to using cheap puns might go for "less filler, more killer" here. Not me, though.)

I liked this week a lot.

Spoiler:

Surprised Isaac gone and now the pyro is the bad guy for only 4 episodes. But a nice end for him.

And boy does that arson investigator look suspicious. ;)

I hope I am not a filthy skimmer and this has not been posted here before.

I was listening to a TV children channel with my daughter and heard John Lithgow's voice...

*edit* I think Singin' in the bathtub" makes the album.

Was it just me or did Hannah look totally unimpressed with Dexter when he hugged her and lay down beside her.

Yeah, absolutely. I think she realized that Dexter has lost his bad boy impression to her. He's now "domesticated" to her, and she lost interest. That's my theory at least.

Still really enjoying this season. I liked Isaac a lot and kinda sucked to see him die but I know it was going to happen. Like you guys said, the Dex and Isaac conversations were awesome.

Reminded me a lot of Lumin from a couple seasons ago after their killing spree ended she was kinda done with him and the attraction was gone.

This season feels like it's setting up for the classic "Oh look Dexter is happy everything is going great in his life" to sh*t hitting the fan like crazy and it all going to hell in an instant. Anyone who has watched past seasons knows that Dexter's happiness never lasts for long.

Dex and Deb conversations... bad.

Very true, but conversation has never been her thing.

Prediction: Hannah will kill Deb. Dexter will get wind of it and kill her to save his sister, but it will be too late. It's how both characters get written out of the show.

Wow.

Spoiler:

Dexter finally gives one to the cops, making my wife happy.

And then he takes one for himself. Hahaha.

And also:

Spoiler:

Oh sh*t. Tom and LaGuerta are onto Dex.

Has Dexter abandoned his code? Or does it consider a simple substitution?

He has before. Forgot what season but he killed some random dude in a bathroom once.

Is anyone else amused by the fact that this past week the show guest starred Jim Beaver. And the pyro kept leaving messages of "It's Bobby"?

Hehe, I didn't make that connection.

I guess it's a 'Supernatural' connection, but I've only seen a couple of episodes. I remembered his face but couldn't place it until I IMDB-ed him. He was in the cast of 'Deadwood' on HBO.

Son of a...

I hate LaGuerta.

Spoiler:

Knew she was having that guy followed, as soon as Dexter grabbed him.

And I'm not sure if Hannah really poisoned Deb or not. I mean she sounded pretty convinced of her batting 1000 streak in killing people. Deb seems crazy enough to have risked her own life.

Yeah I think Deb did it herself to set Hannah up.

Yup, I am pretty sure it was a setup! Things are going to get ugly.

Agreed, both my wife and I think it was a set-up thinking that the writers hoped to fool people by having a double set-up in one episode.

I dunno. To me, Deb has never been that devious. She's a very straight-forward person.

Quintin_Stone wrote:

She may not normally be devious, but she thinks Hannah with kill Dexter and she has already shown she will go to great lengths to protect him. She also believes she is in love with him.

I must be a simple man, because before reading this thread the thought hasn't occurred to me, but I think you're all right. I can see them generally taking Deb's character in that direction.

Well the threatening Deb we saw in this episode that said she wouldn't rest until Hannah is behind bars seems capable of anything, in the name of protecting her brother.

Spoiler:

Was Hannah's comment

You should have killed me

a threat to Dex? I didn't quite catch the tone or facial expression.

Haha, I just had a classic case of "open multiple tabs with news in background, Onion just one of them, forget that you had it in there by the time you get to it, furrow your brows for ten to fifteen seconds".

Spoiler:

I took it more as "you broke my heart" and it would have been easier if you just killed me
