Certis' Totally Awesome Pick 'ems Oppa Canadian Style!

Saints at Giants: The Giants can send their whole division into chaos if they lose this game. I think they're going to wrap it up and send the Saints sliding right out of the playoff race.

Bears at Vikings: The Vikings are at home clinging to the last shreds of their dignity as they chase their rapidly diminishing prospect of reaching the playoffs. They're 5-1 on their own turf and more desperate than Legion at the Redhead zoo. Vikings roll the Bears and rub their tummies.

Eagles at Buccaneers: The Eagles are so disenfranchised with Vick they've drafted a baby horse to play in his stead. Tampa Bay still has a shot at the playoffs if they can win this game. Look for Freeman to do his best horse whisperer routine and break that foal.

Ravens at Redskins: The Redskins are so hot right now you'd almost forget how vaguely uncomfortable their team name is. RG3 and his squad beat the Giants and I can't see Flacco doing much to answer.

And our wildcard game:
Texans at Patriots: It's interesting that at 11-1 Houston is still "showing signs of faltering" every single game. It's like watching a bully slug his way through the chess club and someone off to the side commenting his shoelace is untied. None the less, Patriots win because I will it and they're the most Canadian-like team on the field.

Denver-Oakland tonight.

I would like to propose a constitutional amendment to keep Raiders games off national television.

I'll second the motion.

Knowshon Moreno looks terrible when he runs.

As I typed that he caught and ran for 30 yards, but he has no hip flexibility or something. Can't figure out what I don't like about how he moves.

Is the NFL Network really national?

I know they are trying, pushing games every Thurs the whole season. But still, their announcers suck, their cameras, replays, and so on are subpar. It really isn't up to the NFL broadcast level of CBS, FOX, NBC, or even ESPN.

@Stele, never tune into the free Thursday night stream on nfl.com. It's abysmal. They rotate through like 15 different analysts that don't offer any helpful insight and there are lots of long awkward pauses followed by discussions of the hosts's fantasy football teams. They only really show the live game for like 2.5 minutes at a time unless there's a drive that reaches the redzone. It convinced me that there's no reason to pay for the NFL network.

Yeah I did that once too and it was just as terrible as you describe. Don't think I even made it to half time.

I had it on while working through an objective-c book. I must say that it was one of the few nights in my multi-tasking history that favored the productive act over the distraction.

Hey NFL Network maybe it wasn't a good idea to set your little stage up with Von Miller right next to the stands full of angry drunk Raider fans.

Chiefs establish trust fund for Zoey Belcher

The Chiefs have established a trust fund for Zoey Michelle Belcher, the three-month-old daughter of Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families and everyone affected by the heartbreaking events of last Saturday,” Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said in a statement issued by the Chiefs. “As we continue to struggle with the emotional pain from the tragedy, the Chiefs family is focused on helping 3-month-old Zoey Michelle Belcher as she faces the challenge of growing up without the support of her parents. Zoey will always be a part of the Chiefs family, and we hope that this trust will help to ensure she has the resources necessary as she grows up.”

The trust is funded with contributions from the Hunt family as well as Chiefs players, coaches and other employees. Contributions from the public are welcome.

Checks should be made payable to: UMB Bank, N.A., Trustee of the Zoey Michelle Belcher Irrevocable Trust. They should be sent to: Zoey Belcher Trust, UMB Bank -- Attn: Trust Division, P.O. Box 419226, Kansas City, MO 64179.

If anyone wants to do guest pick'ems, write 'em up and PM them to me and I'll post them. I'm likely going to be working all night again.

I do have last week's results tallied, just don't have this week's picks chosen and written up.

Ohhhh oh! I'll do them! Is it too late? This is something I feel I'm the best candidate for.

I want to give you crap for not PMing me like I asked.

But it's 1:00am, I've only stopped working for an hour of lunch and dinner today, and I'm not likely stopping for another few hours at least.

So, I'm going to say something that I really don't want to....

.... thank you.

God damn I'm tired.

Saints at Giants: Bounce back time.
Bears at Vikings: Cutler and Marshall > Vikings. This week I hope they prove me right.
Eagles at Buccaneers: Dismantle the Eagles already.
Ravens at Redskins: Do the Ravens have any players left on defense? Paul Kruger has been playing well, but without Ellerbe filling in for Ray Lewis the linebacker position looks like crap. I just want to believe the Ravens can win a game in the Battle of the Beltways.
Texans at Patriots: Not likely, but I'd like to think it's possible. Not only does Houston have a great D, but they're second in scoring to ... the Patriots. To beat Brady, JJ Watt will need to put on his best Sizzle impression and Suggs is one of the few people who gets in Brady's head. Still, they're at home and play pretty well there, in case you didn't know that amazing stat.

Saints at Giants: Giants being erratic, and Drew Brees has to be pissed off after that crapfest he threw up last Thursday, but it's outside in NJ in December.

Bears at Vikings: Christian Ponder is a really nice kid who could one day have great success doing something that is not pretending to be an NFL quarterback.

Eagles at Buccaneers: I predict Nick Foles throws 3 TDs and 3 INTs, because (A) he's not particularly good and (B) the Bucs pass defense is awful, but they get picks.

Ravens at Redskins: Why the heck not.

Texans at Patriots: JJ Watt will be JJ Watt.
