This is hilarious:

(For the record, some are both!)

Fixed it.

Go Bearkats! Sam Houston is playing in the playoffs tonight!

I know firesloth is tuned in, concerned as he is with all thing things Sam Houston!

...and they just mentioned that the Bearkats played against Johnny Manziel this season.

Man, now DSG is knocking teams for scheduling Kent State and Idaho, who are FBS teams? Dude, I thought you wanted more inter-conference play between FBS teams so we'd know who is really better?

I was responding to the Gumbie's comment that having Oregon on the schedule was proof I was wrong about SEC scheduling.

This was Tennessee's chancellor at the Butch Jones presser today. I have no words. #boogers is trending on twitter.

This was a response to the entire FCS discussion we've had all season.

Heh Tubs to Cincinnati is causing some mild panic/relief as many think Dykes would have been first in line for the now open Texas Tech job.

There's a great write-up in the NYTimes about the 1973 Notre Dame-Alabama match-up in the Sugar Bowl to decide the national championship.

Notre Dame won 24-23, helped by a missed PAT by Alabama late in the game. They focus a lot on a critical play with about 3 min left. Notre Dame had the ball at its own 3 yard line with 3rd-and-8. Get a first down, and they likely run out the clock. Without it they'd be kicking from their own endzone and give Alabama great field position to drive for a winning FG. The write-up focuses a lot on that 3rd-and-8 play. Very cool to read.

Also, some highlights...gotta' love YouTube!

Loving this Heisman ceremony so far!

Teo will always be my Heisman winner. Yes, Manziel had an awesome year, but I think Teo was simply playing on a different level all year. Manziel had a few less than stellar games, Teo did not. He was robbed.

Sam Montgomery's opinion >>>>> your opinion.

What can I say, there's good Tigers and bad Tigers...

On the upside of course I can say we kicked a Heisman winners butt this year! I'll take that.

I'm taking the one where we were the only team to beat the national champs this year!*

*in about a month ; )

I have no problem with Manziel winning the Heisman. He had a tremendous season and came up big in their biggest game of the year. He was probably the most fun player to watch.

He also gave one hell of an acceptance speech. He's a class act all of the way.

Now I'm rooting for a NCG that will force the country to say, "Oh, THAT'S why Teo was considered the better choice by so many."

So a Texas-USC repeat, where it proved that Vince Young should have won the Heisman over Reggie Bush, and that if we're serious about the award being for the entire year, they should wait until the bowls are done to award it?

Bonus: They wouldn't have had to take the Heisman away from Bush/USC if they had given it to the right guy in the first place.

I've always hated awards before bowls, and back in the day, the AP etc. named a national champion before the bowls. Now there is one concrete way in which the BCS is better than the way things were when I was a kid.

Speaking of Johnny's classy speech, I was really touched that he mentioned Joey V., the player who passed away last December. That was, relatively speaking, a while ago, and not by any means anything that he was expected to say. Good bull, as we Aggies say.

Just read a rumor that realignment will continue tomorrow.

Any details on who goes where? I'd guess B1G is looking to make to 16, but I'd like to see the Big 12 pick-p FSU.

Gruden was in Tampa yesterday. Maybe he's taking the USF job?

Heh, no they were just honoring the 10th anniversary of the Bucs Super Bowl.

Maybe that rumor was wrong...or just early? Hmm. It's a given that it will be right if we just wait long enough! And yes, the rumor was B1G picking up, I think, UVA and GA Tech.

Anyway, FUN storyline reported by Clay Travis: Western Kentucky has hired Bobby Petrino! Travis is a big believer in Petrino as a winner on the field, whatever his egregious sins personally. I wouldn't want him at A&M, and apparently a lot of schools agree.

But WKU is not one of them, possibly with a "We're too small to get character AND success" mindset.

Here's where the fun part comes in: In Petrino's first season at WKU, they will play two teams that just passed on hiring him: Kentucky and Tennessee! Talk about a baptism of fire for those two coaches.

Enix, that sounds like a list of reasons Vols should NOT be happy with Davis.

Gruden to Big East.

Speaking of two people who can go f*ck themselves.

re: Butch Davis ... I think Tennessee Fan should be pretty happy with the hire. I don't think Butch is the guy to get them into a BCS bowl. The Vols still have their systematic recruiting issues (the geography problem that folks mentioned earlier in this thread). Butch is 61. And Tenneesee ain't leaving the SEC.

But Butch did a pretty good job of recruiting at UNC, and he made the team better. Larry Fedora is winning with his guys, so that says something.

But Butch got Carolina in a world of hurt. He might or might not have known what exactly was going on in Chapel Hill. But he's the guy who hired John Blake, and, well, caveat emptor. If you see John Blake anywhere inside the state of Tennessee, call the proper authorities immediately.

All this would be relevant except TNs coach is Butch Jones.

Crappy rumors out of Berkeley that Sonny Dykes will fire the remaining Cal assistants on staff, including RB coach Ron Gould. I dont' have much to say about the other assistants that are left, but this would be a huge mistake to lose Coach Gould. The last 5 RBs at Cal have all been drafted into the NFL (Vereen, Best, Forsett, Lynch, Arrington). JJ Arrington in his final year at Cal rushed for 2018 yards, 6.98 YPC, 15 TDs, the 13th highest single season rushing total in NCAA history. Some no-name at Oklahoma that year rushed for ONLY 1925 yards, 5.68 YPC, 15 TDs and was in New York for the Heisman that year.

Also, Mike McIntyre's signing at Colorado definitely a good thing for the Buffs. He was probably Cal's second choice, and IMHO, maybe should have been first (after Chris Peterson of course).

Sumlin didn't retain any of our staff, not even beloved, Lombardi-winning linebacker Dat Nguyen.

Seems to have worked out okay.

This is a good place for this. The Big East's main basketball schools are saying "enough" to Big East realignment madness.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/8735330/big-east-direction-concerns-conference-catholic-schools-sources-say

Yeah we have a NCAA basketball thread too.

But this has been coming. Pitino mentioned it a while back in one of his press conferences, that he thought the Catholic and basketball only schools would just say "to heck with it" and do their own thing.

Post deleted (but quoted elsewhere in this thread) because I'm a moron who (a) can't read and (b) can't be bothered to confirm stuff. My apologies for polluting this thread with my dumbness.
