League Of Legends Catch All

apparently i actually need to learn twitch and tristana now cause i got completely surprised by a couple of my deaths last night in two different games.

There's not much else to our little duel's outcome besides Cait's ult taking 1.2 seconds to cast and Trist's going off immediately. If you're going to duel 1v1, be sure to net out of range before you drop into ~400hp range. You can still get your ult off as long as you have vision, but you need time to channel it in safety out of their range. (See the doublelift vods I linked on the previous page.)

Trist is hard, though. Partly because explosive shot is hard to get used to, but mostly because I played lots of the modern carries (Cait/Graves/Ez) with an escape on E, while the classic carries (Trist/Corki) have their escapes on W. Mistakes were made.

I didn't even think about ulting....never do that in a auto attack range as cait. I just got surprised by Trist's burst in the one fight in front of my tower.

I coulda netted back and run into tower, yea, but i didn't think i was gonna get bursted like i did:)

My burst was just my AS steroid chipping you down until I could ult. Though it's not how Cait has traditionally been played (especially at our skill level), you can pull off higher burst than Trist can if you skill things in the right order:

I was paying very close attention to how doublelift played Cait in IPL5 and it's something I'm going to be trying. He skilled Q>W>Q for the first three levels, maxing both by lvl13, leaving traps for last. Used his auto for harass to slowly wear down until you can get in a couple in a row, followed by a net (for the damage as much as the disengage) casting a Q while still in the net animation, and if they were low enough, immediately chained into his ult for a kill. If there aren't any minions to reduce your Q, the Net>Peacemaker>Ace combo has enough damage that your opponent probably won't even realize they're in danger of being killed until you go through with it.

Rammus + boots of mobility + homeguard is just about the greatest thing ever. I was in our fountain, let morde get to our inhib tower and beat him to the next tower. Im pretty sure with ghost you could lane gank from the fountain in about 3 seconds. Its like calling in artillery.

Or backdoor a base. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72-r97XfxVQ

That wasn't even backdoor. That was through the front door, through the living room through the kitchen, right up into your business - before the other team had time to react.

Ok ok. Kicking in the front door and not caring who's there at all?

Speaking of Hotline Miami, that game's pretty good.

anyone grab the nocturne legendary skin? What do you think of it?

I don't know about noct, but we saw the new varus skin, and his ult is kind of hard to see now. At least I know I didn't see it at all when it hit our team. The shot effects look cool though.

I've played with the new varus, raven has it. The game didn't go well but the skin looks sweet.

Thinking about playing around a bit with doing a jungle Kayle, apparently she has one of the fastest clear times of anybody.

Using what masteries and runes?
I have yet to try shen jungle but I think he would do just fine.

This is what I saw, he discusses jungle stuff on the first bullet point http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflege...

speaking of odd junglers, petriefied pulled off a Zyra jungle in a custom the other night... didn't see how successful it was overall but I was surprised to see that she was capable.

My friend Mogl jungled TF (we random and if he is the last person he will try it with anyone) and was extremely successful.

We ended up winning the game thanks to him.

Nocturne ganks with a stun card locked sounds pretty strong to me.

I did a Shen jungle. It worked out pretty well. Basically the same speed, maybe a little faster early, and just as safe as it was before. I don't think I needed to use any of the 5 pots I bought level 1, along with the hunter's machete. By mid/late game his camp clearing ability was crazy slow, but I also didn't buy anything offensive. A wits or sunfire cap would have helped.

I want to try pantheon. Seems like his ganks would be fun.

The new patch improves on hit abilities, right?

So did Darius get grosser?

The worst thing about playing support in solo queue is that I seem to get paired against a duo queue every other game or so and my lane gets rocked. I also haaaate supports that should suck (Nidalee) but are able to capitalize on their one gimmick (throwing spears) over and over.

That sounds interesting.... Gonna try it next time i'm on Cait. I havn't ever tried chaining my abilities like that after harrassing them. Never used the net for damage either. Fascinating concept to get a surprise burst in lane phase.

I am hoping Nami drops today. They did her spotlight!!

Also the next champion looks pretty cool. Vi... a melee fighter initiator reminding me a little of Tifa from FF7.

Also X-mas skins (omg pole dancing recall Kat) and big nerfs to Rengar and Teemo... Diana's q a little.

http://www.reignofgaming.net/news/22...

Unofficial of course

That new champ looks incredibly awesome to play, but completely broken. I can't see her releasing without some nerfs first. Her kit is too strong... but damn she looks fun. FALCON PUNCH!!!

Also, her dance is the Dougie.

Riot is trying to take all my money. It makes me sad. Looking forward to the pbe for Vi though. She looks fun.

So the balance changes are out on the PBE, and perhaps unsurprisingly Riot upgraded their nerf bat to a nerf hammer and then beat the crap out of Rengar with it. His W damage dropped 20% and the heal went from 15% to 10% max health. Ouch. They also nerfed his stealth time on his ult when he's taking damage which is a nice change. There's no reason a champ should be super tanky AND have an incredible escape.

Diana got a Q damage nerf which I found a little surprising as I thought they'd nerf her W (shield). Teemo shrooms also got seriously nerfed and Yi got some small buffs.

I agree with Dyni that the new champ looks crazy OP. That W skill is ridiculous, even if it's melee. Apparently you can Q over walls and such with her as well. I'm just happy she is not appealing to me at all so I can spend my IP elsewhere.

New holiday skins too.

Is anyone else having the problem with the new shop in which your mousewheel scrolls the opposite direction that it should?

I havn't run into that issue, but I may just not be paying any attention to it.

I played Vi on the pbe...she is so strong right now, she needs to be hit with the nerf bat like 4 times. In the face.

Passive shield, percentage of life every 3rd hit, dash with the range of a flash once fully charged, ult that is pretty much nautilus' ult except it brings you to the target. She is going to be sooooooooo much fun to play. Even with the nerf bat I love her kit.

Played with Nami a few times, and so far I like her. She's pretty difficult to play well as you need to be preemptive with most of her abilities. Her heal is really good as just a single target heal let alone a multi-target heal. She's strong in lane and setting up ganks and in small skirmishes. My one concern is her late game team fighting ability. Her W does very little damage and is not a burst heal, and her E provides little extra damage. Once you land your ult and a Q that's pretty much it for the fight. I feel supports like Lulu and Zyra make more of a difference in those situations. I think she'll end up being a pretty aggressive support despite her squishiness. Landing her Q makes or breaks her effectiveness in pretty much every situation.

I've been starting HM +5 on jungle mundo, which for a long time I'd been adverse to. The HM doesn't build into anything Mundo really needs, but it's so cheap it's like the jungle Dorans. Then Warmogs > Guise> Rylai's with boots to counter whichever character is the biggest problem on the other team. Randuins or Frozen Mallet also, again depending on who's on the other team and what the situational role is. In the end I stand at the middle of a team fight with a freezing/burning hoola hoop of doom and chuck cleavers at people, hoping my team kills everyone before they kill me.

Also been stealing the enemy red by starting blue. It's worked so far, but I've only tried it on slow-clear, mana dependent enemy jungles. I don't smite my blue, which requires a hard leash, and then cleaver the enemy red through the trees to get that started faster too.

Saw all this on JediDwag's jungle Mundo stream. It works some of the time.

Also been playing Kayle as a supporty jungle. I never get a kill but assists like a house on fire.

Try Spirit Visage on Mundo.

I play around with that. It's good, but with the changes to health/health regen, Mundo doesn't have the raw tankiness he used to. As such I play him with a bit more finesse, and more ranged cleaver chucking. The SV's CDR would be nice for that, but I'd rather run down better items instead of dabbling with it. I dunno. My new build is still very much in flux given things are only a week old.

Hard to pass up that heath regen bonus. The item was made for him (passive, ult).

Spirit of the Ancient Golem is amazing for Mundo. 7 mp/5 is a very minimal wasted stat considering how good all its other attributes are for him. It also allows you to skip merc treads, since you already have tenacity, and go for Tabis against a strong AD line up or Boots of Swiftness for extra speed and slow reduction.
