The Dark Knight Rises Catch-All

Yeah, I can agree with that. It sometimes also sounded like it had a hint of an echo when no one else's voices did.

Looking forward to see how it ends tonight.

Man, that ending. Still makes me think of this:

If that bomb had a three month wick, then the analogy would be perfect.

Did you watch part of the movie and then turn it off? I would love if you could take this post and send it to 18 year old you. I'm not picking on you, I'm talking about everyone as they get older and the things you do that young you would be like "the f***! You stay up until 2 am and finish that movie".

Hah, so true. You can throw having to take a Pepsid, prior to having beer and popcorn with the movie, on that same pile.

I saw it and although I'm somewhat aware some people here didn't like it, I really enjoyed the film. I gave an internal cheer with the scene with Blake at the end.

Where does Bane get these super loyal henchmen anyway?

I think it's the voice. Sexy, digitalized, English accent voice

Yeah Bane's voice drove me nuts the entire movie. I wish they had figured out a way to just put a speaker in the actual mask he wore so that it sounded like it was actually coming from him.

Something seemed "off" with the fight choreography as well but I can't place my finger on it.

2nd one will still be the best. This was just ok.

They likely follow his even sexier boss, Talia.

Don't many movies get redubbed later? That's my understanding, at least.

The one-on-one fights or the giant crowds? To me the giant crowds were weird because it's just hard to choreograph large battles without someone doing something inauthentic in the corner.

Depending on how the audio turns out on set I think they'll redub certain sections. Sometimes you can actually pick up on it. In the case of The Dark Knight, though, Bane's voice always comes out more clearly than anyone else's.

The scene where it really stands out is the opening on the airplane, though. Everyone else is shouting to be heard above the noise of the plane, and next thing you know Bane's is perfectly clear. There are digital methods that could have been taken to make the audio fit a lot better, but I think that was the only scene where it really jumped out to me. Just about every other scene the other actors were speaking just as clearly, so it was easier to get used to.

I don't think a lot of people agree with it, but I'm pretty sure that was done purposefully. There was conversations about it back when the movie was released in theaters, but I assume they dubbed his voice over on purpose like that. I think they were going for a Darth Vaderish sound, but more of an "in your head" effect. Whether they were successful, I don't know. It was a little jarring in the plane scene, but I do think it accomplished what they set out to do.

I enjoyed the movie outside of the Bane character.

I don't know if it was the voice, or the character itself, but I just couldn't buy into that character.

Otherwise, a very good flick.

Because that suit ways a ton... They made a comment for the 2nd movie that they were going to show more up close 1v1 fights with him because they found a way to reduce the weight but it was still super heavy.

To me, the 2nd one feels about 30min too long. Great movie, but I'm ready for it to end way before it ever ges around to it.

How does Bane shave with that mask? Why doesn't he have a great big beard?

Questions that come up after you've seen a movie too many times

It's extremely painful.

For you.

He had laser hair removal.

Demyx wrote:

Why would anyone want to get rid of laser hairs?

Because they cut through his mask.

Everybody knows lasers are to be mounted on top of one's head.
